This is the best option and the ONLY option. Specifically because it has dual bluetooth chip, the power port is set back so it can’t be seen. Almost all of the portable CarPlay’s all have it directly on the side so you can see the power wire. This unit connects instantly. It’s smooth. I’ve watched videos on every one out there and this is by far the best. And the one of the best parts is that it comes with almost all the car manufacturers symbols.

if i wanted to use the backup camera as just a normal camera to view behind me do i still need to hook up the red trigger wire or will the device automatically power the camera when plugged into the av in port?
Anyone tried on of these in a car with a heated windscreen? I have a very expensive Garmin satnav that cannot get a satellite fix because of the screen.

Is it designed well to unmount the screen often? I think at some areas It might attract some thief. :D So do you know something about quality of the stand?
Yes! It has the ball design at the back so you can just unscrew quite easily and take it off, then put it back on when you're ready to drive. Use a tiny bit of force to pull it off, but not too bad if you're worried about thieves.
Can this one connect to another Bluetooth device simultaneously while using android auto or apple carplay?. I mean i want to use my Bluetooth aptx device for better sound.
Not too sure about that one to be quite honest! Might be worth reaching out to them, please keep me posted though I'm curious about this
Hello, about the GPS MAP function, is there an update to be done from time to time? or is it automatic??? how does it work? .....To connect the camera (rear) the connection, is it easy and explained in the manual?? Should it be plugged into the reverse gear switch or wiring harness? Or just on the device? Thank you for the answers...hi from France...
You use your device/phone for maps whether it’s IOS or Android, no need to update maps on this device. I don’t think you understand how this works.

@@brandontyler9278 I have not connected the camera on this as my car has a camera built in, but the unit has an input to plug the camera into, presumably just plug and play into there.

Hey can you give a comment on how you like this product after 2 months use? Does it work consistently? Any problems?
Hey J B thanks for checking in. So far it's been seamless. As soon as I start the car, the system turns on and CarPlay connects within 10-15 seconds. Only hiccup is that it needed a software update, which the manufacturer provided me with the instructions (just plug in a USB with the files). Other than that, no complaints, works continuously just as I hoped it would.
What about screen brightness at night? Is it hard to change?
Yeah, does it have a light sensor to automatically turn down the brightness at night?

I would say probably not!

I have been utilising it via AUX and it does not, if you do double bluetooth, it may!

Yes. It doesn't require any other unit, just connect it to the stereo with bluetooth or Aux.
How is the microphone quality?

@@tech.reviews You can check be measuring the diameter of the "ball" in the mounting arm.
I want to get a air vent clip, so I can mount it in front of the air vents. My guess is that it is a standard 17mm diameter "ball" that is used.

@@sorhol that would be cool to clip in front of the air vents, but it is heavy so just be sure of that. And also it will take up a fair bit of space - i.e. buttons to change air con etc. Oh and in winter with the heater on, the air vents will heat it up quickly! Just a few points to note, although I like your thinking!

I found a solution, it involves adding another device to my setup.
Setup: my phone is connected to RoadTop and a small conference speaker via Bluetooth, my RoadTop is connected to my car's infotainment system via Bluetooth
Operation: when I play something on RoadTop via android auto, the sound goes from RoadTop to my car's infotainment system, when I make or receive a call, the sound (both ways) goes automatically to the conference speaker which has an excellent mic and speakers tuned for vocals, when the call ends, the thing I was playing resume automatically on the car's infotainment system

Try reset the device and update your phone as a starting point. Best if the device is connected to your car via Aux so it's directly connected. Otherwise, Roadtop may also provide you a software update if you want to reach out to them, it may be a bug!
a friend got this for his 2016 KA. no Aux so used the FM transmitter which was horrible with loads of interfierence. tried a normal FM transmitter bluetooth dongle and that had crystal clear audio. this device is cheap and nasty
just buy a cheap tablet problem solved ? or like most people just use your phone
Cheap tablet won't have data (unless you hotspot every time which will drain your phone's battery). It's moreso just the ease of use, you start the car and in a few seconds you're ready to go!
Wireless carplay was originally called an Android tablet but now Google won't let you use your Android tablet the way you want to how pathetic of Google

Planing on looking at cows all night driving through Nebraska at night? Me neither, put on some youtube. I can usually watch the road with youtube playing in the background that's like saying planning on watching your GPS while driving? It's redundant no you watch the road you watch your mirrors you glance here and there you don't stare at it of course. It's not complicated. You can also play it in the background with the screen off. Try doing that with the GPS it can't be done maybe GPS needs to be banned.
@@9Crow Us Aussies have seemingly been traumatised by the flurry of demerit points we'd lose for any of that! If you were to play youtube on your phone, the sound would go through CarPlay but not the audio. However.. I have some news.. This device does have "Mirrorlink", I admit I haven't utilised it as my focus was on CarPlay, but I have a feeling that you may have some luck with that (it just mirrors your phone on the display)! Hope this helps :)
