I just wish Knoebels had more space for more of these intense rides like this, flying turns is closed all the time and twister and phoenix are great but riding it over and over again just makes me wish for something new
@@CanobieCoaster I'm not sure but they should try and get more, there is so much land around that area it's unreal what kind of a park knoebels could be.
I haven't ridden it with the new trains, but I remember the old trains' lapbars came down really tight during the ride, making it hard to get hangtime on the online twist. Love the reviews!
Ahh my home park! Always fun to see videos of it. I'm hoping the carousel organ association rally in June doesn't get cancelled again, pandemic conditions allowing
@@coasterhockygamingboy9549 i know this is very late but coming from someone who has rode it multiple times it is so worth it! this video really underestimates the size and thrill of it. i totally recommend it
I haven't written the new trains but I always liked this coaster. It was really smooth and the color scheme definitely looks incredible. I doubt I'll get to ride it during social distancing era though. :/ But it is a great ride and a worthy addition to the Knoebel's lineup. Like most of their coasters, not all that impressive on the surface as far as stats go, but it makes up for that in a seriously great ride.
Looks like a great ride that I wish more parks could have. These or the Gerstlauer Eurofighters with lap bars. From the amazing ejector on the drop to the strong posative Gs on the pull outs and the hangtime filled inversions, this ride is great. Doesn't take up much space either and Knobeles really cares for this ride. Especially when they changed the trains to not require booster seats, the awesome looking lights, and the lift hill system.
I've been on Wicked at Lagoon, which I found to be the third best coaster at Lagoon, so I look forward to riding Impulse at the end of May and comparing it to Wicked. Wicked is sort of my expectation level for the ride.
3:07 you said that Knoebels is a pay per ride park on weekends, does that mean it is not a pay per ride park on weekdays? When I went in 2019 it was a weekday and it was pay per ride. Has this changed?
Normally, Knoebels offers wristbands or tickets on weekdays and only tickets on weekends. Towards the start or end of the season, they'll often offer wristbands on weekends.
Good concise review ! Although it's my least favorite coaster at Knoebels now, it wasn't as nearly as bad as the decision to replace the Jet Star coaster with the ho-hum Whirlwind split corkscrew coaster . I've been going to that great park since the early 80's , and that's the only poor decision they've made in decades . Since Knoebels is becoming more popular I feel they need to start considering higher compacity rides . I would have no problem trading Impulse for a Schwarzkoph triple looper like the Indiana Beach is getting .
Did you know, the slogan of Skyline Park in Germany is “Der cool Freizeitpark in Bayern” which if you have never heard of it or knew what it meant in english, you might think they might be comparing it to Bayern Park or Freizeitpark Plohn (other parks in Germany) or something like that but the slogan actually means “The cool amusement park in Bavaria” which also means the parks of Freizeitpark Plohn and Bayern Park also mean Plohn Amusement Park and Bavaria Park in English. (Bavaria is a large german state in Southeastern Germany)
I actually prefer this over the Eurofighters for the most part. As far as vertical lift coasters go, Fahrenheit is still my favorite. This one, however, has always ridden well to me. I didn't get on it with the new trains yet. When I was there to do an article for my site, they were still installing the new trains. When I went back for Halloween, it had a line like 1m5 hours long, one trains, and with social distancing, it meant one row was usually full. Some trains had only one or two riders on it. We went and did Phoenix again a couple of times.
@@CanobieCoaster that's the way its always been in the past. It was just that one time where it was nuts. It was the first day of their Halloween event and an Ave event as well.
Finally got to ride impulse with the new trains today and I aprove👍 Kinda wish some bad B&Ms like firebird at six flags america could run this type of train.
I agree, this looks better than most Gerstlauer Eurofighters and still no one raves about it
I think it's easily overshadowed at this park.
It’s alright, Hydrus is better.
@@acceleratedcreative I prefer Impulse to Hydrus, but it's close.

How much land does Knoebels own?

That Helix made me realize how much I love hangtime. Can’t wait to ride it with the new trains.
Enjoy!

These ones do still come down tight.

I suspect conditions will only improve with vaccines being rolled out.
This coaster looks like a lot of fun! I also really love the color scheme! Great Video 👍
I agree but i’m unsure if it’s either fun or meh
It definitely doesn’t look that great but I’m unsure if I will enjoy myself
I think the color scheme really pops, which is what the park was going for.

The new trains are a slight improvement.
Ill def look forward to checking it out again next time I get back there.
I didn't know about the new trains! I'm going on Saturday I'll have to try them out! 😍
Hit this ride first. The capacity is brutal due to social distancing.
I’d love to see more and f the launched version of these cuz wicked looks insane
I think the cost may be the issue since it's 2X the cost of a EuroFighter. But I agree the vertical launch on Wicked is great.
Looks like a really fun ride! Only vertical lift coaster I've been on is Tantrum
Mine is Fahrenheit and in November I’ll prob get on rip ride rocket
This one has a more complete layout.

I've seen a few articles say this ride cost $8 million. If that's the case, I can understand why they may not be as common as the EuroFighters.
I've been on Wicked at Lagoon, which I found to be the third best coaster at Lagoon, so I look forward to riding Impulse at the end of May and comparing it to Wicked. Wicked is sort of my expectation level for the ride.
Wicked's launch is better than anything on this ride, but Impulse is more consistent start to finish.
@@CanobieCoaster that sounds about right. Wicked last time i rode it was good for most of it, but like the only part i remember is the launch
great video as always. On thing to point out is it's pronounced zee-air-er 👍
Thanks! I already recorded some audio for a few Busch Gardens reviews, but I'll be sure to correct that on future videos.
I’m gonna ride this coaster in 2 weeks I’m excited
Have fun!
If you've been on them reviews of Cannibal and Wicked would be interesting.
I'd like to get back to that park first.
It was closed for me, but it looks like a fun ride. It looks like a better layout than Tantrum to me. I am hoping to get back to Knoebels in July.
I think Tantrum is better paced, but this one has more to it.
Great vid
Thanks!
Looks cool and more small parks should add this.
I'm surprised more haven't.

The fact they retrack Phoenix so often stuns me the most.
