Hi Soph. I’m a professional makeup artist and choosing a slightly lighter color for your eyebrows than your hair color actually makes a lot of sense! It looks way more natural. Even for jet black hair, the best option is always a dark brown, never black on the eyebrows.

@@ranialqr It’s a very common thing in South Korea I think. Most of the Korean makeup artists I’ve seen videos of tend to go for a shade lighter than their actual brow color because it gives a softer look :)
Could you please do a video where you explain all the different placements of eyeshadow.. Like cut crease,halo inner corner and outer only. This video will be so helpful. No creator I could find has done this. Everyone changes up the colors but never explains different shapes. You are so creative and would be great at this video. Please :)
Also which brushes to actually use for each placement also, I never know what brushes are for what! Maybe it’s just me though

Towards the blush placement and the brows:
Rounder faces should always put the blush on the apples of the cheeks as make up is originally to enhance your give features. Placing blush on the sides on your cheekbones actually let the face appear wider.🙏🏻 I always think "soph your blush placement a few years ago suits you way better" as this high cheek bone placement is trendy, but not the best for your face shape. In the end you can do whatever you want, just wanna explain how it's traditionally made in "the books":D
Regarding the lighter brows: it makes your face look softer which is a big thing if you have darker hair, as brows often look blocky😅

Soph- your bush looks so good on your face like that. Do a combination of both the high cheekbones while bringing it down onto the apples of your cheeks and it will be PERFECT for your face shape. Sometimes just bringing it into the high points of the cheek can even make your face look more round, making your apples a little more obvious. Same with highlighter, try not bringing it down so far and it will compliment your face so much!! (Of course do whatever you want though, still look great)
The make up gave such warmth into ur face. And your eyes pop it looks so natural on you yet different.

No, lighter eyebrows are correct. Most of us don't have really chunky thick eyebrows and they're usually lighter. I had dyed black hair for years and black eyebrows looked so weird and unnatural. Dark grey or grey brown used to work well for me 👍
Hey Soph, thanks for the honest opinion of the products you use. I find your videos helpful. I wanted to say that the blush on the apple of your cheeks makes the bronzer look more shadowed on your cheeks giving you a more defined look. Hope that helps.

Soph, you're awesome. I believe the reason the graphic liner directions are confusing is because the bright color is supposed to be writing over the black eyeliner carving out an area to create a lightening effect. Definitely a bit confusing though.

Pretty sure with the liner it was trying to get you to make your wing the bolt, so instead of filling in the wing it's just a bolt shaped outline. Idk tho. I didnt read the whole thing in time lol
Also as a blue eyed gal I always forget that orange and sunset eyeshadows are actually the ones that make my eyes pop most bc on the color wheel orange is opposite blue and is actually the direct complement. It's the only real application where I can use true orange lol

Hi Soph, I don't know if you'll have time to answer this, but I would really like to know: am I supposed to use cream products AND powder products? I usually use cream contour and cream blush, or powder bronzer and powder blush. I've noticed you tend to use both, and I'm not sure I understand why. Doesn't that just cover the cream with the powder colour and prevent the cream product from being seen? Thanks for a response, if you see this 😊
powders can set the cream products to last longer and can create more dimension. but you dont have to use both if you don’t want. mostly i use cream products and they last all day
@Sarah Parker As Lucy D says the use of both will deepen the shades and - just like using more of 1 product - using two usually makes it last longer since there's more to take off. *However*, it's important to know that it can also 1. create a more cakey look, 2. makes sure you won't see the effect of the first product, and 3. dampens the more dewy and natural look that cream products give you. It's why I don't understand why she does it either. Maybe she only does it in testing videos, so she can show more? I'll have to check. Because in natural light double layers are rarely a good idea.
I use cream products because they make my makeup look relatively effortless and quite natural. Because I also have dry, mature skin powder isn't the best choice for me. It emphasises pores and fine lines, whereas good cream products do so much less or not at all (though using makeup, ANY makeup, usually emphasises skin texture more than a bare face).
