- Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt has requested to change her name. The 18-year-old has filed to drop “Pitt” from her surname according to several reports. The documents were filed on Monday, May 27, which also happened to be Shiloh’s milestone birthday.

I am divorced with kids, but even though the marriage didn't last, I did choose a great woman who realizes the kids need both parents. Even if Jolie and Pitt don't like each other, Jolie should know how important having a father is. Sounds like someone is getting even. Looking at Shiloh scares me. I guess as long as you have enough money you don't need character or parents. All you need is a good lawyer.
The plane incident scarred the kids for life. This must have been the last straw and not the only one. Brad was not the victim. He physically attacked Angie and the 2 eldest kids stood up to protect their mom. The other ypunger kids 4 kids were crying and telling their dad not to hurt their mom. Brad was drunk and poured beer on Angie who was under a blanket. Can you imagine what these kids went through?
Shiloh is an adult now and could decide on her own.
What happened on that plane speaks volume about Brad. He is not a saint and Angie is not evil. Brad was throwing curses to his kids to shut up.
You could see how much Angie loves her children and is always by their side (compared to the real narcissist Jlow who is so self absorbed).
One question remains: how much has Brad done to win back his kids? Maybe none that's why all of them are dropping his name. According to the letter of Pax to Brad, the 4 younger ones tremble just with the sight of him.

Right, the fact that angie was dragged through the mud with smear campaigns from brad pitt's PR machine. Yet, never once she made her kids speak to the media to defend her because she didn't want them being smeared with her and caught up in the media circus. That's a mama bear right there. The only time she let the kids defend her was when they wanted to testify against Brad Pitt in the courtroom, a place where their words would be documented words by words without being afraid of getting twisted by the media, but the new judge wouldn't let them. Then, the oldest child took a metter into his own hand by writing a public letter. the kids' action speak for themselves, and people say action speaks louder than words. How can people believe "rumors" and "sources" from Brad Pitt, but turn a blind eye on the kids' first-hand experience.

The vast majority of parents would discourage their kids from taking such a drastic step of a "name change," no matter the circumstances. How would these sheltered young adults come up with this on their own, even get their own lawyers?

Yes they are legal adults. I had no preconceptions of Angelina as a Mom. If anything I leaned toward her being a good one. But having multiple kids do this on/near their 18th birthday is very telling. A good Mom would discourage their child from doing this. A person can go out in the world with any name they please & famous people often change their names. This is not that. I watched my Husband go through this with a Son. The Son was bitter & didn't know the truth at the time.
This is a dagger through the very heart of a man but worse than that, it will harm that child in more ways than they can realize at this time. The Mom should understand this & guide them away from it. They may still do it, as they are adults. But Angelina appears to be on board.
That is her choice.

My son did. My son’s biological father has been completely absent from my son’s life since he was 7 and has been in active addiction (rehab/prison/homeless cycle) since. My son simply just doesn’t connect with that last name and wants to change it to my maiden name or his stepfathers name. I was against changing it in his childhood or pursuing an adoption situation because I thought he may come to regret it. Especially because he has a relationship with his grandfather on that side 🤷♀️

You can tell that these kids are heavily influenced by Angelina. It would not occur to a young child to change their last name, we’re not all perfect, but we don’t run around changing our last names, just because we have a disagreement with another parent. It seems odd.

The kids seem to just be following what Angelina did to her own father when she became an adult. It's a bit sad to think that these kids have no relationship with any of their grandparents as they have no contact with the Pitt family at all. No uncles, aunts or cousins besides Angelina's brother who is unmarried with no children. Angelina has positioned herself as the Sun and the Moon for these children as they are reportedly also not allowed to have their own friends outside each other. Very narcissistic behaviour.

Many men will easily dismiss and not value a ordinary woman with a good heart, to go chase that woman he can shine on his arms with, however some things that shine might have hidden thorns. Some men will never learn......and then act all shocked when they see the true colors afterwards. At the end of the day he completely devastated a good hearted woman publicly that had to deal with the public humiliation for years, and now has to deal with the consequence of his poor choice in a woman.

I don't know what the old name meant I just know that the name had to die. Every person with a d.ead-beat dad should change their name. Jolie continues to push the narrative of Pitt as an abuser regardless. She should forgive and move on but there are ulterior business related motives to her actions. The children have been poisoned against the father despite his efforts to make things right. It is a tactic known as "parental alienation". I hope one day these children will break free from the influence of Angelina and get to know their father properly. Not the version Angelina and her PR team are portraying.
