Enjoy !
It's incredible how they managed to fit this game on a ps2 disc. It has all the stuff and even the cockpit view with all the details, few racing games had this on the ps2. It's like the PC and the 360 version but with a lower graphics, anyways... It's amazing!
It’s incredibubble
In terms of content, the only things missing were the bikes, the Ferraris, a Maserati and manual transmission.
What about the PSP version?
@@pedinhuh16 it also didn't have "hard mode" (the mode that made the driving physics harder) or the secret island
@@uubrmanx yup. Same game with less features. Unbelieveable
I remember I was so addicted to this game when I was a kid.... Best racing game for the PS2 in my opinion!
Hell yeah!
This and another contender imo would be Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition Remix
I was addicted to both tdu and midnight club games... On my psp :D
Ahead of it’s time, hopefully we get a TDU 3 someday
I think theres rumors of a third recently
There's actually an active domain for a new test drive game called Test Drive Solar Crown
Crew 2 already better
Niko! Lets go bowling..
It's been confirmed to be in development by Kt racing
Despite its hardware limitation of this version, it still delivered a decent game in a way.
The lo-fi graphics are strangely refreshing
Indeed, I spent a good year playing just this game by just driving around the massive island.
Real shame the game didn't had a manual transmission though.
@@pedinhuh16 It blows my mind how well they were able to port the game and let out such essential feature.
I've been playing the platinum remaster on PC, this is such a fun game.
The most impressive thing is that a psp version exist and is not that different
@@alextureac9280 Its different, graphic downgrade, trees are the same, don't have smoke and car cockpit was cut.
This game is such a vibe..
Theres something about the UI, sound design and graphics that makes me feel so nostalgic and I feel like i've just time traveled
Oh god this game brings back memories
Same :)
Man... 2006... what a year. I can't believe I'm so old now that I can say that. 2006 is definitely THAT year for me. I was 10. It's like I was at the perfect age for actually remembering things while still having maximum fondness for them. It's visceral every time I see a video like this.
6:48 the sound of the ford gt resembles the engine of the truck Nevada in Flatout 2
The menu music on the PS2/PSP version of the game is worth the price of admission alone.
The secret to happiness? A PlayStation 2, a copy of Test Drive Unlimited and a copy of BLACK (2006). That's all you need. :,)
+ GTA VC and NFS Underground 2 :)
Gran Tourismo 4?
It depends on you if you like a racing games with deep customization = NFSU 1 - NFSU 2
If you like a wild and crazy driving sensation = NFS MW 2005 and MC 3 DUB edition remix
But if you were into a war games well "Black" is definitely the game that you want
And there's many more and it depend on your taste of the game genre and feels
+ some GTA games LOL
Silent Hill 2 and 3, Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3, Def Jam fight for NY, the socom games
I had this game for PS2 and it's definitely in my Top10 for that console. Huuuge map, tons of different cars, it felt like you had so much freedom... you could even have 1v1 races against other people via internet where you could define the start- and finish-line on the map. Sometimes I had races that were like 50km long, from one side of the island the the other. The fact that I could race online on my PS2 blew my mind at the time. Very fond memories of this game.
ما اسم هذة اللعبة
I remember getting the pagani zonda and closing the game while it was saving...
That is when i fucked up...
F
F
Lost my very first save file in TDU by accidentally turning the game off while it was autosaving. RIP 2007-2007. I learned to always disable autosave whenever booting up the game since.
F
Why was everything so much better before?
No way your actually saying this is better than the ps3 version 😂😂, it's lacking of too many things
Passion
@@z_kokiiitoosDoesn't exist PS3 version, this game was only released for PSP, PS2, PC and Xbox 360. If you are talking about TDU 2, it have inferior physics and a lot of bugs.
@@Victor_2000sI do prefer this (7th Gen version) over TDU2, but TDU2 is still a pretty good racing game.
This game was ahead of its time !!!
I always preferred the PS2 version of this game over the next-gen ones. Something about the handling of the cars was much more fun and arcade-like. I still play it all of the time to this day.
The soundtrack, the vibe the imersion, the menus, idk...
But it is more nostalgic
You can't deny that it has a better music track for the intro though.
Yes. It was the steering animation. The next gen version feels very stiff and unnatural.
Melbourne House put their stamp all over the PS2,PSP version it was a much more focused arcade racer than say Eden Games' Simcade leisure life racing game.
As much as I adored the graphics and bloom of the X360 version the rest of the game feel bloated and underdeveloped especially driving physics forget bikes which were just stiff and frustrating to ride.
@@barebarekun161 Its frustrating if you can't have skill to drive.
Spent hours and hours on this game on my PS2. It was so cool at that time, having this huge map with lots of cars and being able to see their interior. It was so pleasant 🥰
TEST DRIVE UNLIMITED despite missing bikes and some cars its still an amazing game.
I was lucky enough to find this game at a local resale shop for gaming enthusiasts. I'm glad I gave it a try! I think the open-world aspect of it inspired future racing games like the FORZA series.
they have them on ebay
Wtf same!! We found ours @ a pawnshop had to be a all time favorite #CLASSIC
Собираю бомж-сборки пк, и эта игруха у меня в списке обязательных в игровых тестах для пк тех годов)...ностальгия!😀
One of my favorite ps2 classics.
It is sad they disabled the online mode
@@user-fj3gl8wc7s You can play with mods.
I SEE YOU IN EVERY VIDEO
I have the PSP verison
damn the nostalgia. Played this game everyday until it wore out and stopped working. lasted 3-4 years
This game I look back on fondly (I had it on PS2) and although I thought it had a number of shortcomings, it had some brilliant features and above all a lovely atmosphere. The atmosphere was such a nice place to be.
amazing that ps2 can run this game
2:35 The OST on this race scene slaps so hard and idk whether it's unreleased track for TDU1 ps2/psp
3:41 btw, the OST playing on the headphone is Neon Jungle.
The sounds cars make in this game while accelerating hold a special place in my brain and my heart.
My first game on ps2 . I cried 😢 . Memories ❤
It is hard to play this game without the music on :)
the music aint that good. Test Drive 5 had all the heavy metal it needed
@@Toxic2T Menu and car sale songs its good in TDU.
@@Victor_2000s yeah
hon estly was the best part, the spaced out drum and bass, bit of house, perfect fro cruising in exotic cars
I had this game on PS2 and then got it for my Xbox 360 once I got it for Christmas in 2007. Such an impressive game for the time and this and the second one are two of my favorite racing games of all time. It's amazing how well the PS2 graphics have held up. I think this is one of the best looking PS2 games.
For new generation kid,
This is what my generation played when we used to be a kid and yes, there was no Forza Horizon
yes true
facts
This was the Forza of our generation, minus the tuning aspect.
I did only played Forza Horizon 1, so idk about the other Horizon games series
But Test Drive Unlimited still has its own original vibe, like, going to the car concessionary of their own brand or buy a new house. It still impresses me tho. Actually I'm playing TDU2 on my Ps3 and I'm impressed more than the previous game, this game deserved more fame
2:35 this scene is sooo good!
This was my favourite game growing up. Such great memories. Just driving around for hours on end and getting lost in the virtual world. Just seeing this video makes me want to go out and buy a ps2 so i can relive it. I genuinely thank you for uploading this, seeing it brings back so many memories
You can play it again using PCSX2 emulator or PPSSPP.
Am I the only one that thinks that Melbourne House (the PS2 dev team) managed to make a better single player experience in the PS2 than the PC?
No, i think exactly the same When i play the pc version, ps2 version is pretty damn good in single player because of the championships, in pc version there are Only single races but 0 championships.
@@Gvilchis18 Not to mention that the PS2/PSP version's single player also has Clubs, which are only available in multiplayer on the PC/Xbox 360 version. Also, the PS2/PSP version's soundtrack is far superior to the PC version
The best way to experience this game is on 360 and PC, but the single player experience on the PS2 and PSP versions are solid enough! Melbourne House did a great job!
No you're not alone on this, the game's pace are much faster on PS2 more focused on racing and driving than Eden Games Xbox 360,PC version.
Handling are much better and tighter as well with far superior soundtrack few extra radio stations and Melbourne House' own TDU soundtrack.
The menu OST and SFX are WAY BETTER lmao.
This brings me back a few years
Ohhh yesss this brings back the childhood memories. I remember playing this ages ago on the 360
I used to play this game 24/7 as a kid this was so nastolgic watching I might have to go buy a ps2 and relive those memories
Daym. This video really brought back awesome memories ❤
I'm so glad I still have a PS2 and this game.
One of best racing game!
Ps2 life😢💔
Test Drive Unlimited, a game that technologically was incredibly advanced for its time and somehow was magically ported flawlessly to the PS2 and nearly flawlessly to the PSP (i remember getting this on the PSP and PC and i was in complete awe on what the developers were capable of doing with the PSP's hardware)
Love your content xTimelessGaming, you inspired me to start my own youtube channel.
Thank you for motivation.
Thank you for bringing up nostalgia.
Congrats on the 150K subscribers!
Thank you mate! 😄👍
Oh man I am so happy to played this game it was golden era
I have been playing this game for a couple good years and managed to finish it and had all the cars in the game. Very good memories now I have a Xbox one S and I play Forza Horizon games
i am 22 and i remember this being my favorite gsme ever when i was 11
This was my favourite PS2 game. I remember doing a sprint race over and over to collect enough money for a Lamborghini Gallardo. Ahh
One of the best PS2 ports ever
Nostalgia from PC version, i wanted to continue playing the PSP version in my tablet but its hard to play in emulator without problems.
Everything about The First Test Drive Unlimited Game on the PS2 Version is so freaking amazing!
This game is overkill for the PS2! It really pushes the graphic capabilities to the limits!
Ahhh, i remember spending hours going to the showrooms and test driving the cars because i was not skillful enough to make the money money since i was pretty much a little child. Fortunately i still hace that same PS2 working, unfortunatley not this game.
I have tdu on PSP, PS2 and PC and like how they are all sort of different. Makes me want to replay all of these games
This game/soundtrack is Awesome !
Gran turismo 4 was impresive but this beats it up, maybe it isnt as realistic as GT4 but you even had cockpit view, on PS2!
Nostalgia game😢😢
I played the PC version of this game the whole quarantine. And it followed by playing TDU 2.
Man I miss this game. As a kid I never really played it as a racing game😅
I always thought It was a open-world sort of tycoon game.Once I had every nice car and house I would be happy(I never did). It was only recently that I discovered that it was a racing game. (After 8 years mind you)
wow thanks man! I apprechiate it :) Looks great! :)
Anytime mate. :)
Nostalgia Overload!!!
Very impressive .. I had ps2 but none of the games I owned looked as good as this.
Time is something really scary, just keep reminding yourself that you can never go back
This was THE Greatest driving game. Put aside shoddy physics, it beats alot out there.
How I played this as a kid… a really big flashback
how to forget my first cars supergame, this ladies and gentlemen is the father of the Forza Horizon: ')
I loved this game, thinking of doing another run
li loved this game so much i remember playing it
Очень любил эту игру в своё время. Большая свобода и красивое окружение.
I miss sooo much this game
Das Spiel ist so schön groß und für mich eines der besten Racinggames der alten Generation.
One of the best games ever.
Looks great for late ps2 release
yeah childhood memories with the cool graphic and detail of awesome car in this game in ps2, the graphic of the car in this game is better than gta san andreas
just the main character is why i never got into the game, reminded me of a guy i knew who screwed me over and just a general douchebag.
lol
I mean that haircut in the 2000's was straight fire tho
dang lol i am sorry to hear that. it!'s a great game
well you can modify your face and hair, no?
@@KingLich451 not on ps2 :p
A masterpiece for those years, the best version is on pc
Nes 64 lol
The game play on ps2 is incredible rather than pc version
Which PCSX2 version are you using? If i change Internal Resolution i have only half screen in 1.6.0.
Nostalgia...
I love the driver view in racing game. I wonder why not many racing game have this option.
Probably because was not used so much by players on arcade games.
I'm here after the new Test Drive Unlimited game trailer came out
Good memories..
I had this on PSP.... i cant believe i played it till the VERY END.... i.e. Koenigsegg and the 1-hour race around the Island. I literally just sat there and drove that fecker around the whole island. Not on the OG PC version, not on the PS3, not on the PS2, no.... on the PSP. And i loved it
Same. And then getting upset after crashing at the very first turn because then I couldn't catch up to the other cars later on. The game is way easier now that I'm older, but it's still fun as ever.
so nostalgic
Only if my cd didn't get scratched...i would be playing it to this day
got reccomended after watching test drive ultimate solar crown videos😂
I remember if you hit a million on that counter in the bottom right you'd receive a free Countach.
Im surprised that the little reputation bar in the top hasnt made it to the other iterations of test drive unlimited
This is a pretty good game tbh
Pre-Horizon feelings :D
I never knew people played this game!
Welcome we all played this
I have this game until there's flood happened in my country :( sad
This game was also one of my fav game in ps2
I still remember when I bought this, super-excited to drive these cars. Then mad as hell when I found out there was no Ferrari, Maserati...but it was still pretty fun.
I also got quite sad when my save file got corrupted ;_;
That’s the worst
I still have my old game 100% completed with all the cars, the last time I played it was in 2014, after that my disc got fucked :u
@@eloquenderoresident how did your disc got fucked up?
That’s the Game that me and my own Family play that Game on the Xbox.
Dude what are your settings? Mine keeps shaking. How did you get it to run so smoothly, graphics look great too.
My aspect ratio has stretched the screen and the widescreen patch does nothing when it’s enabled
the graphics more realistic back in the day lmao
do try this one on 360,it included motorcycles and some extra cars-one of my favourites.tdu 2 went to shit with licensing
k
Classic gem ❤
I love PS2 graphics
This game is so amazing! Is running in a PS2 but with the same quality as Pc
He its playing in PC with emulator.
Although I've only played TDU2, this looks great as well, so far I have TDU2 for my Xbox 360, and now I'm considering getting this, idk if I wanna get the PS2 version or not, as I use my PS2 a lot more than I do my Xbox 360, but then again it looks better on 360 and probably controls better too
This version was decent! It was a great game for the ps2 and the psp. I wonder why they didn't release it on the ps3 too...
Ps3 wasn't out during this game's development, sure the could've released it later, but the already had it on 2 Sony systems at the time.
