Guitar: 1888 Antonio de Torres, SE 114 SP/CSAR (ex Francisco Tárrega) (www.guitarsalo...)
Here's Pepe Romero performing "Lágrima" by Francisco Tárrega on the composers third Antonio de Torres guitar - this one made in 1888, numbered SE 114, made with spruce top and CSA rosewood back and sides. Recorded at the Guitar Salon International showroom in Santa Monica, CA.
Pepe Romero "Vintage & Flamenco" light tension strings (www.guitarsalo...) were used on this guitar for this recording.
Huge thanks to the folks at Apogee Electronics (ApogeeDigital.com) for the use of their Ensemble interface in these recordings.

I thought I learnt this piece in two days and thought I could play it in 3 months. Then I hear this and realise I only know the order of the notes and to pluck strings.
Pepe Romero’s performance of this piece was the one I listened to repeatedly when I was learning it, and it will always be the “correct” version to my ears!
It is indeed the most magical one! I love it a lot and learning it at the moment. I got to the point where i have to catch on the correct melody and rythum and its quite hard ... and all the buzzing i have pretty difficult but i love it ❤
Just discovered this dude watching this vid. He's legit!
Yes how sweet life is specially in the way you express it through your guitar compositions and heart felt performances, “Sweet Life “ took me back in my life’s journey leaving the past behind yet in present so much carries over, now the future is something I look forward and still enjoy and think of sweet and yes, I think probably some of you have figured my life situation now. Thank you for your music.
Playing this piece more lately- I find it healing especially when trying to find the light while surrounded by darkness.
Probably easier just to play the guitar.

Beautiful words...
I've heard several fine guitarists play this piece. On this guitar in the maestro's hands it's just exquisite.
I thought I could play this piece quickly, then realized I was only scraping the surface.
Now I play it slow and carefully and listen more.
One day I'll get there.
Always a joy to hear Maestro Romero play. I don't think I would've taken up classical and flamenco guitar without his inspiration.
Lordy the tone of that guitar. 🙏🏻💫
I love the rich, full tone, yet wonderfully balanced. Interesting that it has a spruce top. Sounds like cedar perfection.
One of the first songs I learned when I started lessons this year. Beautiful rendition!!!
So simple yet so incredibly beautiful
Omg I can't believe that. Pepe Romero is a legend. Greetings from Turkey.
My favorite version is this one, even better than other master’s playing
Pure sweetness
Such a rare find.. the fluidity is unmatched. Thank you for sharing.
Monsieur Pepe Romero = Leyenda !! ✌❤
The legend makes another legend come to life!
this music definitely breaking my heart every time I hear this...
Beautiful rendition of a beautiful piece of music
Simply beautiful
Simply beautiful! I always love listening to to Maestro Romero's 'Recuerdos De Alhambra' CD.
Una de las interpretaciones más bellas que he escuchado de esta obra!
Beautiful! A joy to listen
Pepe Romero dejando la grandeza en esa maravillosa miniatura de Don Francisco Tárrega.
Sounds like Maestro Romero's interpretation of Tarrega's music is closest to what the composer wanted us to hear.
How can you possibly know that?
@@paulalancroft He knows because he communes regularly with the undying spirit of Tarrega. Don't you? GEEZ. I do every day. Get with it, man.

Wow! Very deep and beautiful sound.
I agree with you)
Una genialidad, composición y guitarrista
That's the sound of heaven!
Essa é a melhor interpretação de lágrima!
Maestro de maestros!!!
Superb.
Amazing performance. Great job gramps
Bonita combinación de timbres: guitarra y cello. Sentida interpretación.
Parabéns grande mestre!
Probably the best interpretation of this piece, just impeccable!
Mucho arte. Este es un músico que sabe lo que quiere decir.
I've always liked Pepe - sooo cool, everything about the man seems right. Just see how he holds the guitar, how he sits. Cannot understand why not more guitarists do like he. Some seem to need to stretch to reach first fret.
Perfect❤
So nice. Thank you Maestro Romero and GSI!
A careful mix of beauty and passion. Bravo.
Maravilha de interpretação 👏👏👏🇧🇷 beautiful
Thank you this is so soulful
Un gran maestro de la guitarra

이 공연은 아름답습니다
Великолепно. Я тоже в июле 2021 года разучил данную пьесу.
The gift
Muy puro!
Bravo!!!👏👏👏👏👏
Maravilloso
Maestro.
Muy bueno!!
El mejor!
So beautiful! How is he able to keep his shirt sleeve off the guitar strings :o
Is that guitar tuned in a different/particular way?
It’s definitely not 440, nor 415. Something in between
It is tunned at 432hz, why?
That's the standard of those days
The minor part seems so authentic.
Totally going to steal his phrasing and treatment of the inner voices.
I used to know how to play this piece as a lad. To my sadness, I stopped playing guitar and have a gap of a decade. I wish I can go back to play.
Do itttttttt! Me too have picked up the classical pieces again after a decade of fiddling around a little. Have fun! You can find the scores of this one pretty easily.
@@meiliswein Yeah. You're right. It is difficult now that I am older with work responsibility. I'll practice at least 30 minutes a day.
@@jacqueslee2592 hey how's the guitar playing been going
@@antoniatsouchli8195 Hello. Thank you for reaching out. I have not started playing since I made this comment. I am realizing that I have ADHD and my ADHD is too severe that I get paralysis and time blindness and the overstimulation due to my environment, work, and studies stop me from getting started. 😞
Exelente
Great Song! What tuning is Pepe playing in? I tried to play along but the key is different
Isn't it E tuning?? It doesn't match when I play 'lagrima' with my guitar
This guitar IS speaking
Prachtige weergave !

sound like a drop of water.💧
and then
I realized that's the la grima.😮
porque la afinación esta baja??
432?
3.1 k like realy 😄
He set this guitar’s tune to 430Hz
Is it an artistic decision to have all the strings tuned flat?
Tarrega may have composed this piece on this actual guitar...
Its not 440hz
Pablo, pablo mogao si i više duše dati.Perfekt tehnički izvedeno
This song is too overplayed. It’s good. Just too many people play it.
It deserves to be played a lot. The problem is that, although it's a relatively easy piece, most people play it very badly.
@@Alanicus1 hi, I'm still trying to get better at this piece. Can you give me some common examples of how people play badly? Thanks.
Grande Pepe Romero! Suena maravilloso!
Este es mi performance, que tal suena? ruclips.net/video/RaAcFuI7duQ/видео.html
No doubt that this guitar has a historical value. But to be honest, for me, it just sounds ways worse than modern guitars of master class. Its sound is comparable with a guitar today, which costs less than 1.000usd. Perhaps this happens due to a lot of restoration work done on it…
Prevedi na srpski
joer....... qué bien....
Beautiful performance, always the best.
Stay healthy Romero!, Pope Francis that freak is waiting for his right moment. He's waiting to see you with a wheelchair instead of a guitar.
bella interpretcaión
Bravo!!!
