    This is really where Fender marketing department has nailed it. You focus on the present and sometimes nod to the past. It makes everyone relate to a Fender. As compared to some competitors who focus only on past glory.

      Vinayak, you too have hit it on the head. Fender has done an amazing job of connecting with "Now" The current marketing strategy is indeed excellent. Current, inclusive, respectful of heritage, and brave. Fender keep the models coming. Your current demographic respects your past, loves what you're doing now, and is excited for the future.
      All the new models are beautiful. Keep breaking new ground! Go after the competition directly. Give us a badass humbucker beast. In fact, as a luthier I'd love to design it for you. I can already show you a concept! Lol
      But seriously, we love where Fender is right now. Keep going!

      @malcolmgordon2988 2 года назад +6

      So many of their signature guitars are designed to tools for active musicians rather than museum pieces. The Ed O’Brien Sustainer Strat is also a remarkable guitar!
      Gibson, on the other hand, seem to be unable to get out of the shadow of those late 50s Les Pauls.

    • @vinayakkrishnan1509
      @vinayakkrishnan1509 2 года назад +7

      @@malcolmgordon2988 what I have noticed is that Fender carry the ethos of Leo Fender and give their guitars to musicians on the road which was done by Leo in the 50s. Gibson was facing serious issues and that's why Ted McCarty introduced the Les Paul (superstar of the era) model along with ES style guitars, and the Explorer, Flying V and Moderne. But pricing was still too high and therefore all of those models at the time were failures. They became huge only due to collectors. Ted McCarty drove innovation but, Gibson are stuck without any innovation these days. They don't innovate and carry the ethos of Ted McCarty these days. Gibson is the Nokia of the Guitar world. That's why they're not in trend with the modern crowd.

    This guitar is a work of art. My Olympic White example lives on a stand right below a poster of "The Queen is Dead". I don't claim to be a great guitar player, but with my limited experience this guitar can do pretty much everything. As Johnny says, in the 4th position, you get a very punchy, P90 Les Paul style tone. On the neck pickup, you can dial in a very Frusciante esque strat sound, and on the bridge with the high pass engaged, you can get the Rickenbacker Smiths sounds. It truly is an incredibly versatile guitar which could only have been developed by a true master. I love that Johnny really believes in his signature guitar, and as a musician who has had such an impact on myself, I'm proud to own an instrument that bears his name on the headstock.

    Two things:
    1) In the age of 80's shredders, JM appeared on the cover of a guitar magazine and I immediately gravitated towards him. His style of playing was a breath of fresh air then and still is now.
    2) Fender once again proves themselves to be the superior modding platform. Mix and match parts and eventually you'll find your grail. Leo got it right the first time.

    Marr is great, Not really sure how much input he has in terms of price range, but it would be cool if he could put it out more affordable version too. Marr is a working class Mancunian but his signature guitar is way out of price range for most. Then again, I guess you could just buy any Squire Jaguar and make some mods to it and it’ll probably be similar to what they would put out if they made a budget version anyway and still be affordable

      He's had a signature Jag since 2012 but yes, certainly as deserving now as he was ten years ago.

    Excellent promo! Way to go Fender! I have one of the Lake Placid blue Johnny Marr Jaguars and I love it!! This is one of my favorite product introductions next to Hannah Dasher's Nashville Telecaster demo.
