This is really where Fender marketing department has nailed it. You focus on the present and sometimes nod to the past. It makes everyone relate to a Fender. As compared to some competitors who focus only on past glory.

I can already show you a concept! Lol But seriously, we love where Fender is right now. Keep going!
So many of their signature guitars are designed to tools for active musicians rather than museum pieces. The Ed O’Brien Sustainer Strat is also a remarkable guitar! Gibson, on the other hand, seem to be unable to get out of the shadow of those late 50s Les Pauls.
@@malcolmgordon2988 what I have noticed is that Fender carry the ethos of Leo Fender and give their guitars to musicians on the road which was done by Leo in the 50s. I purchased my Johnny Marr Jag not because I was trying to sound like Johnny Marr, but because it’s a brilliantly designed instrument. I can’t really think of a higher compliment than that.
This is the best guitar promo for any model that’s ever been made, signature or otherwise. Terrific, expressive, musically-informative presentation of what the guitar sounds like, feels like, and why. I watched the whole damn ad. I’m not even much of a Smiths fan, but JM all day long, sounds great. Nicely done!
almost forthy years listening to him playing and and only today, on 22's spring, I knew the guy can sing, and quite properly... one of the goat imho, gotta love this guy
This guitar is a work of art. My Olympic White example lives on a stand right below a poster of "The Queen is Dead". I don't claim to be a great guitar player, but with my limited experience this guitar can do pretty much everything. As Johnny says, in the 4th position, you get a very punchy, P90 Les Paul style tone. On the neck pickup, you can dial in a very Frusciante esque strat sound, and on the bridge with the high pass engaged, you can get the Rickenbacker Smiths sounds. It truly is an incredibly versatile guitar which could only have been developed by a true master. I love that Johnny really believes in his signature guitar, and as a musician who has had such an impact on myself, I'm proud to own an instrument that bears his name on the headstock.
One of my all-time favorite guitar players. He's so simple when it comes to ideas and yet always been a huge influence for generations. I loved his voice on The Smith's song BTW
Now this is some synergistic marketing I can get behind. I was blessed to see the Smiths front row in 1985. Johnny has always blown me away with his originality and sound. This guitar looks and sounds amazing

Love the quote...where have you been all my life!!??? Love his new sound as well sounds like a mixture of Sonic Youth ,Joy Division, New Order and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club 🏍 New signature series Yellow Jaguar is a great design for a guitar 🎸
I had the one in Olympic White. I sold it. I still regret it. If you have one, don’t let it go. This new finish is a stunner. Johnny’s passion for the instrument is second to none.
Been a Strat man all my life. But when I picked up this guitar, it's like Johnny said...something just happened. It's been my main songwriting guitar ever since. Just a beautiful sounding and brilliantly designed instrument.
@EndofMusic Actually...yeah. It IS better. A lot of the tweaks that Johnny & the Fender design team made really improve the playability and tone of the guitar. At least for me, anyway.
I'm a long-time Jag/JM fan and Johnny's updates to the Jag are just perfect. The switching, the bridge post and trem arm bushings make it nearly perfect out of the box. My KO Orange Marr Jaguar is my go-to and quickly became my favorite guitar. The best signature instrument around!
Nope. Not possible for Johnny Marr to get any cooler than this. Fun and well made promo. I love the supportive quote at the end, and I love the Fever Yellow. It reminds me of my favorite Yellow-orange Crayola I had when I was young.
Sounds fantastic. Haven't heard a better (live) clean tone than the one in this version of "The Headmaster Ritual" - and that goes for both Johnny + Jag and his other guitarist who particularly impressed with the black Tele on "Headmaster"
