Hi, great review. I am really interested in buying it now. Do you think I can use this to record my football games and make the football the object to follow. Also if it loses track of the ball does it goes back to its default position and does it re-detects the object once it is in its frame?
Great question, I think it might struggle a bit with football with how fast paced it can be, but if you keep it from zooming in it may follow better. Most times when it loses you it just stays put. Every once in a while it spins around back to what might be default position. 🤷♂️. It can redetect an object but only if it's going slow enough for it to realize it. To be truly honest though, I'm not sure because of the size of the ball that it would track it well especially once the ball is in someone's hand. Maybe with time that may improve this feature but for now I wouldn't hold out hope that it will do well. Mind you, this is just my opinion with literally no experience for using it for football. Sorry I couldn't be of more help!
Hi appreciate your reply. Yes football is a rapid moving object which makes it super difficult to follow for cameras. Don’t think Pivo was designed for such rapid moving objects. After doing my own research it seems there are very limited AI cameras in the market for recording a football game without a cameraman due to the complexity of following an object may be GPS related technologies will arrive where they follow a chipped football. Anyways thanks for your time and help.
Do you now Soloshot 3 i get one, is good for Outdoor , but wen its near to tree or the wheater is cloudy doesn‘t work well. Pivo is perhaps good alternative also for indoor and easier then pixem.
I would like to use it to recording me in the tennis match (obviously I'm interested just on my side of the court) and later analize my job, do u think it is worth it? Thank you Scott!
Bought one, the red but doesn't work, tried returning it and they won’t even take it back. Did not work as I’d imagined well for equestrian sport, this is what I wanted to use it for anyways
I am a bit confused: how can you live stream with this gadget? Do you use the PIVO app for this or can it be any other livestreaming app, like Streamlabs, for example? Is it possible to livestream to Instagram, Twitch, RUclips while using PIVO?
Can I ask you, will this work with a dog? I need to see what my dog does when I'm training her off lead through a herd of wild deer. I have a go pro [hands free, head mount]. BUT cannot upload the videos to facebook, or youtube [says "files too big". Can only edit in windows editor. Go Pro app to technical for my old brain. And obviously can't video both of us together. Have bought a Ulefone armor 9. So far good/very good video quality, the fact I can use it speaks volumes for its ease of use, it is heavy [6600ma battery]. BUT last outing dropped it in pool dog was swimming in, AND slipped [dog knocked me over] climbing up steep, loose footing hill returning to car. Phone carried on recording, no screen scratches, no dust ingress. I'm impressed. My dog takes every opportunity to bring me down!! Would be cool if event was captured from outside the "action" haha. From your great review I'm almost convinced. Thank you.
It's not the pod itself that does the zooming, but the app is what controls the camera on the phone. It's also a setting that can be turned on and off.😀

@@jasminepalmer5391 the pod red comes with a remote, yes. However, the pod silver is faster. If you get the starter pack version for either one you also get an additional phone mount (holds your phone higher up and can be angled) as well as a carry case.
I have a trouble shoot. Pivo is set for riding, I turn the screen round so its in selfie position. I try to record but soon as record starts the screen turns back round!. How do i stop this?

The tripod is simply to light for rougher circumstances but that’s a easy fix. The pivo itself looks very nice!

Yes, suppose the remote can made pivo follow the Bluetooth or maybe next wifi. So we can ride with friends n other horses.

I think it has a great follow when it comes to humans so yes I think it will work just fine!
I really want one but the lagging motion makes me not want to spend money on it.
Totally understand! I find that when you don’t let it zoom in, it works much smoother.
I purchased one and am having an extremely difficult time returning it. Would not recommend on customer service alone.

Can't remember which other platforms you can use but it definitely allows streaming on Facebook at at very least and I'm sure YT was on there too
You sign into whichever account you want through the app and then use the streaming option to pick your platform. Hope that helps!

I've never tried using it with dogs! I'd have to check. 😀
Will it work for tracking a cyclist? (or motorbike passing by)
It's not a specific option you can select but you can draw a box on the screen, and anything within that box it will track.

It does work with your phone to zoom yes!
