  • REVERSE THRUST UPGRADE ! Giant XL Fokker 70 RC Airliner Passenger Jet | LMA Cosford 2022
Powered by two PST130 micro turbine engines this 1/6th scale Fokker 70 Airliner gets in the air rapidly and cruises around the sky. Since I last filmed this it has been retrofitted with functional clam shell reverse thrust ! And they work so. Just watch the deceleration when they are deployed on landing.
The Fokker company of the Netherlands started to develop the airliner in November 1992 with an aim to replace its aging Fokker F28 airliner, with a more modern and fuel efficient aircraft. The Fokker 70's first flight occurred on 4 April 1993, at the company's base at Woensdrecht in southern Netherlands, and had a duration of three hours. Following its first flight, the Fokker 70 was flown to Granada and Spain, where many hours were logged in order to obtain the certification at the end of 1994. The first production aircraft first flew in July 1994. Certification was granted on 14 October 1994, while the first delivery of a Fokker 70 to a customer, Ford Motor Company (in an "Executive Jet" configuration), occurred later in the same month. The launch customer of this aircraft by an airline was the now-defunct Indonesian airline, Sempati Air.

After all these years watching RC turbine planes, I’ve always wondered why no one has ever done the reverse thrust and now over 30 years later I’ve seen it. And it was worth it. Amazing how one detail just changes the realism of something already cool. It’s amazing. So cool 😎 ❤

Aside from the addition of reverse thrust buckets, is no one going to mention how clean this build is? I mean come on, there's no visible servo push-rods in sight! It may be a miniscule observation but it's a whole added degree to realism! Love the build! Waiting for more gigantic airliners!

So COOL you can see reversers pushing the heatwaves forward in slo-mo!!! AMAZING WORK. One of the MOST scale RC planes I have ever seen.

And you only see that because we're the only channel that films these events in 4K at 60 frames per second (as shown in the resolution setting) 😉😎

This is absolutely INCREDIBLE!! Looks like they’re the first ones ever to add thrust reversers to a turbine RC! Standing ovation on finally being real!!
I grew up on the F100s with USAir. That’s such a gorgeous model. Even the lift dumpers look right!

Very, very nice and realistic model! The owner also flies this plane very realistic, in a way that suits such an aircraft, without strange stunts. A pleasure to watch!

Awesome job on the reverse thrusters Flies and lands beautifully very stable even in the wind

One of the best planes, very nice line, even when you see it fly, the first impression it gives is that it is a life-size plane, and when you see the scenes in slow motion, it looks more like a normal-size plane and the way it landed the plane the pilot is the best, the sound of its turbines everything is a large-scale plane, and the moment of putting the reverse looks magnificent, the excellent video shots of the best, congratulations to this video, to the plane and to the pilot who is a very good pilot.

Holy smokes! What’s the next addition….an anti-ice system? Out of all the amazing turbine RC jets I’ve seen throughout the years, this Fokker is the most impressive! Absolute superb build job and excellent flying! The thrust reversers were icing on the cake.

The fokker 70 does have an air brake that I didn't see deployed. He has the cut out on the back for it, so that would be neat to see.

Beautiful Fokker, amazing size on ground, up in air of course looks small. Looks good flying, I love the reversers clam type gives realism. Still waiting for the cabin door to open passengers disembark. Maybe future?

What a great model, with fowler flaps, lift dump on landing and REVERSERS! All the bells and whistles.
Any idea of the model weight? I couldn't find it anywhere.
If the camera is at 60 fps, what is the frame rate of the slow motion portions? It does make for realistic viewing.
Altogether a fantastic model and wonderful photography.

    • @EssentialRC
      @EssentialRC  Год назад

It's not something you can buy. This was built by a team over several years. Materials probably add up to £5K to £10K. It's the skill, labour and time you can't put a price on.
