      I'm a little worried they're going to depict the Battle of Bannockburn as 50 guys vs 2000, lol. Trailer showed a very small group of Scots.

      Kingdom of heaven!? King Arthur? You do know that one is a terrible, historically inaccurate film and the other one is fiction right?

      @DS-mi9ru 5 лет назад +56

      @@thomaschristopherwhite9043 I know that, but I was talking about a historical setting, not a true story. I just like the movies because of the huge, medieval battle scenes, they don't make them like that anymore.

    • @ForiamStudios
      @ForiamStudios 5 лет назад +47

      Agreed! I'm so keen for this film for the true story that Braveheart got wrong but also for the fact that it's a proper historical movie that isn't using heavy CGI, modern language or out of place music. Braveheart, Kingdom of Heaven, Troy, King Arthur, Gladiator, The Patriot, The Last of the Mohicans, The Last Samurai; they don't make historical epics like these anymore.

    It's amazing how far Chris Pine has come since the countless rom coms. He really is a gifted actor. Furthermore, it's nice to see a medieval/historical battle setting again. Haven't seen that since the days of King Arthur, Last Samurai, Kingdom of Heaven etc. Looks badass :D

Great performance from Chris Pine-breathtaking scenes of the Scottish landscape and astonishing battle scenes....It's far too short though -it only goes up to the battle of Loudon Hill in 1309 which was The Bruce's first major military victory .I await the sequel Bannockburn The Final Conflict

    I've got to say that the weapons in this look really good, i.e. period-correct, so far! I have the honor and privilege of owning a dagger made by the same blade smith who made the daggers for this series(apparently the ones worn by the Bruce and his brother). He may have done the swords as well, not sure, but I know he forged the daggers. The difference is, my dagger is by no means a movie prop! Her name is "Prudentía", and she could easily stab someone right through the brain if she had to!

      Davo Rebo Excuse me! I think you will find there are a lot of Good Scottish Actors. British Actors are actually better trained than American Actors. Richard Madden (Robb Stark in GoT), James McAvoy, Ewan McGregor, Kevin McKidd, Robert Carlyle and Iain Glen are all Great Actors although the last two are probably too old to play Robert The Bruce.

    • @kingkong381

      From Scotland, I don't mind too much so long as he doesn't completely butcher it like Mel Gibson did with William Wallace. Though, Chris Pine isn't who I would have imagined in the role: he's too clean-cut and Hollywood handsome. I'd have cast someone a bit burlier and rough looking (like Gerard Butler - who happens to be Scottish anyway).

    • @violator7964

    • @gingerindian1141

      You want the box office draw dont you? to get the masses. Gerard Butler is Scottish, but hes utter shite. Ewan Macgregor - not his thing, and James MAcavoy - he could have done it - but i guess hes making too many other Alist big budget movies, and rather successfully. I guess that is the A list Scottish actors.
