I love the canna plants and been growing them for the last 7 years. In pots they grow to 10 to 11 feet and in ground 12 to 13 and a half feet. I live in New Jersey and I start them off every year around April 19 -23. I have the rubra variety which I truly believe is a mosifolia strain. No canna I ever had grows as fast as the rubra!
I have a list of interesting videos by other channels. I added you to this list because of your positive spin on creating content near traffic. It’s definitely one of my struggles. Shorts helped with the pain but as my neighborhood changes the struggle has become even more difficult. Nice Video’s!
Yes! It’s so hard to film when every other car that drives by had a bad muffler or the people with loud motorcycles for fun. Nothing against them but it just makes it difficult. Keep going!
Those cannas are awesome nice job. The banana plants look like Musa Bajoo which do not really bear an edible banana. You can bring in potted up pups and they will survive winter I do it all the time
I feel like Judy and the bean stalk. I had some bean seeds rolling round in my pocket they fell out and I randomly put them in one of my plants, I couldn’t figure out what was growing out of one of my Hoya then it dawned on me those are bean plants! 🌺💚🙃
I MAY try an experiment this year. I have some hardy bananas growing in my garden, I may dig up a pup and bring it inside to see if it will survive my care this winter.🌺💚🙃 I had a beautiful banana tree growing in my home but I couldn’t keep the cats out of it so it went outside and I didn’t bring it back in. And now I deeply regret it. It was so beautiful and huge!🌺💚🙃
BEAUTIFUL, I'M A BIG FAN OF CANNAS, MINE HAVE LOTS OF RED FLOWERS YEAR ROUND EXCEPT WHEN THEY GET PRUNED, THE TALLESTTHEY HAVE GROWN IS 6 MAYBE 7' TALL. LOVE HOW LUSH YOURS ARE, WHAT TYPE OF FERTILIZER DO YOU USE? AND THANKES FOR SHARING GREAT PLACE YOU HAVE,
I don’t know about you but I get so burnt out by the end of summer with watering and weeding I wait too long to bring my tropicals in plus I’m not sure where to put them. Hopefully this year I will have my problems solved.🌺💚🙃
I am so tired and ready to pack it up for winter lol. I've already started bringing my houseplants back inside so I don't have to rush when it starts getting chilly
I love this video. I was searching for cannan Lilly in containers which I didn't know was possible but you have convinced me other wise. I have so many tubers growing in the ground and they are popping up. So I'm try some in containers this year around my patio. What size container do you use? ❤
@@TheThriftedPlanter I ended up getting a 20 or 22 inch? I'm a little late In the season and it's my first time so it'll be an experiment. I'm working on mine now, I can't wait til it's finish so I can admire it lol. I went to HD today and they had the celosia 3 for 10
I’m not sure if I told you this or not but I have a horrible mouse problem. We live in an older house and to my horror I went into the basement which I never do and found one of the windows down there had come open, no screens. I don’t know how long it had been open but I have hundreds of mice in my house, I’ve been trapping them and put mouse bait down and have finally resorted to getting some more cats. I no longer put mouse bait down, oh and my dogs also catch them, but we now have three residents in our home, rescue kitties. But the moral or purpose of this story is that the mice have decimated my house plants. They dig and dig, I think to find water but I’m not sure, and have made a mess of all of them. I’m hoping the cats will help and I’ve caught a lot of them but you do know mice, they can multiply like crazy. I haven’t seen too many of them but I still see a few, I guess they are the smart ones, but I’ll get them all of them I’m am determined because I HATE mice. I also made sure the window was secured tightly. I THINK the resident groundhog may have pushed the window open, he lives under the shrubs we have outside the windows and I can’t get to his burrow, but he has quite a burrow right under the window right next to the foundation. I suppose I could put a ladder up and reach his burrow from the window but I’m afraid I’m going to fall. Broken bones don’t heal as fast when your my age. Sorry I just wanted to tell you about my poor houseplants🥺🌺💚🙃
OMG!!!! I'm sorry your having this issue! We get mice here and there and our kitties catch them and pretty much beat them to within an inch of their lives before we find them and put them in the compost. I think bringing in extra cats was a great idea. If you let your cats outside they can help with the mice around the outside too and maybe the groundhog as well. The good thing is houseplants can be replaced.
I have cannas but I'm really not a fan. They look so ugly after they bloom and they spread everywhere. I thought I had dug them up last year on one side of the house, but, no, they came back with a vengeance. I felt a little bad because the dragonflies and the hummingbirds seem to love them. I did replace them with butterfly bushes. I love the banana trees and definitely want them so I will keep an eye out on fb marketplace for a good deal. My elephant ears are ginormous ! I love them, too, but they also spread so I am contemplating giving some away for free.
Ugh nothing worse than a plant you don't like coming back next year. You must live in a warmer zone since you can keep your cannas and elephant ears in ground. That's so cool! I wish I could do that. That's a good Idea to share them

Ooooo I need to look up Rubra! I planted some in ground this year to see how they do
Very nice!
Thank you!!
Beautiful garden! Thanks for sharing! I can’t believe how big they are in pots!
Thank you!! They are huge in pots
I have tons of these plants and am willing to share if you need them. Also, I can send pics of my tropical garden where it's at now.
I absolutely love elephant ears and cannas! Beautiful! beautiful! Garden👏🏽
Thank you so much!
Thanks for sharing your beautiful plants with us
Awww! Thank you!
So beautiful! I definitely want some large cannas in pots now. A nice water feature can help with the traffic noise.
You will love having them! A water feature is a great idea! I would just need to find a good spot for it.
I just love your beautiful garden!❤❤❤
Thank you so much! 💚💚
Absolutely incredible ❤👌🏾😎👍🏾👍🏾👏🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾🤲🏾 thanks for sharing. Im inspired to start my garden this week.
Thank you! Yes! Get that garden started!
Your garden is so lush and beautiful. Thanks Cutie for sharing it with us.🌺💚🙃
I’m going to be looking into some tall cannas not for the flowers but for the leaves.🌺💚🙃

What kind of cannas in the pots are they? Its beautiful I have cannas but not that big love your garden tour
Thank you! I think it's called Canna Musifolia. They were given to me with no name
Just beautiful Cannas 😍
Thank you!!!

Oh cool! The Musa Bajoo's are hardy here so maybe I don't have to bring them inside. I'm considering keeping a pup as a house plant this winter
More mature corms? (The cannas) 🌺💚🙃

QUESTION : Do you have some roosts lower to the ground that they can roost on until they grow up and are able to reach the higher ones?🌺💚🙃
I don't but they've been flying up to the high ones. It's hysterical and they look so proud when they do

I like to plant them in containers based on the size of the tuber but I think the bigger the better
Did you use any fertilizers or miracle grow on the cannas
I haven't been great at fertilizing regularly but when I do I use fish emulsion
What zone do you live? Where's do you live?
Hello, what size pots are your bananas in and will that be their home all season
I'm not sure on the size but they are big! I planted one in the ground this year and the other is waiting for me to pick a spot and plant it in ground
