This is one of the best video tutorials that I have watched on You Tube on growing & caring of plants. Your explanation in simple comprehensible terms has aided me so much in how to grow Canna Lillies. Thank You.
Outstanding video/presentation, full of excellent information! Thank you! Keep up the good work!! Best, most informative video, I have ever taken the time to watch, start to finish!!👍🏼👏🏼
I am so happy to have found your website. I love my Cannalilly’s so much and every time I try and find information on the best soil or fertilizer or anything. I find limited basic information. Your information is so thorough and so informative Thank you so much.
Great video on growing these beatuiful plants. I have a question. This year one of my varieties, I'm not exactly sure the specific name, it has vibrant green leaves and bright yellow flowers, didn't flower at all. The plants are about 3 1/2' - 4' tall, in a mixed planter. Have had them in the same planter for a year or two but now seem to be sterile. Any suggestions what could be wrong or offer a possible solution? The other plants I added this year are all doing well. Appreciate any input. Thanks
I have a Mango canna and it is so beautiful….before the tiny green grasshoppers started devouring the blooms. 😢. I have used Neem and it doesn’t seem to help. I think it’s time to cover it with a mesh cloth to protect the blooms. My canna is in a large planter and thriving except for the grasshoppers eating the blooms 😢
Cannas flopping over? Most likely your soil is too loose. My cannas grow perfectly well in unammended black soil and never flop over. In my earlier years I tried growing cannas in pots in peat based soil bought in local garden center. It was not a good experience. Now even for potted specimens I use 50-50 mixture of black soil and peat. Regarding pH: cannas are very adaptable, it's not rhododendrons or heathers.
I live in in UK. North of England, have grown my Cannas which I bought from a programme on tv which sells plant, I now have 2 quite large they did start out in pots but got too large, they've grow well and flowered which iv just cut the of now as getting the first frosts also got Ginger lilys, only small garden but I want them to grow big, also growing Calla lilies but not flowered as yet but it's been 3years but still growing new leads. I will be 87 at Christmas live on my own and manage my plants, also grow a Begonnia Sutherlandii, have collected lots of cormlets, they really to put in a hanging basket, had 15 growing this year and now collecting the as I said cormlets, it's a plant that you cannot buy only specialised growers and even then they dont always have success. Will a solution of Neem Oil prevent insect attacks & leaf yellowing on Cannas?
