Two things I learned from this conversation : 1) You need to have good communication skills 2) Financial modeling skills are essential for getting into private equity
Studying long hours to achieve Something great, then Working long hours to achieve something great. At the end of the day what is 'Great'?. Where does this restless/ stressful journey end?. Being a CA Final student the very fact about a Post Qualification life still demanding sacrifices haunts me!
Dont worry, the jobs mentioned in the video are very front end and client facing roles(consulting and PE), these are horribly difficult to get into, you need rank/strong articleship background and clear the interview(consulting interviews are very hard in general), So what I want to tell you is not all the jobs are this demanding, traditional fields of a CA like audit, tax, etc doesn't want you to work these many hours and they are not stressfull tho.
that's the 100% true... I also feel the same... but if we stop to get knowledege and exprience, we will become the useless qualified chartered accountant over period of time... and getting continuous knowledege and exprience, it requires some sacrifices or may be stressfull journey. All matter is how we tackle the situations and adding some fun.
Hey kushal great podcast! Please bring more these type of folks & also try to invite some more finance guys like hedge funds, investment bankers, portfolio managers
then if rankers are not from Big 4 in their articleship, don't they have a chance to get shortlisted for Private Equity or management consultancy jobs?
Sir. We get good videos from sir. But sir, I expect videos also (basically help videos) for ca who struggle or have passed ca after multiple attempts. They are desperate people looking out for help... top ca know to navigate their way to top, what about others...
In the beginning of the interview arjun talks about what kinda of hires BCG is looking to hire. rankholders from CA and MBAs from IIM, IIT etc... from top colleges. MBA from average college is not worth it man in the long run, if the fees of this college is anywhere between 20 to 30 lacs. Better do CA, because it's very low fees compared to MBAs from IIMs and the job opportunity is enormous.
sir in this time when in majority og videos we see that jobs me kuch nhi rakh a aj yeh video dekhke lag raha h ki jobs me bhi abhi bhi bahut potential h
I'm a Graduate from tier(you don't even know the name of the university forget about college). I'm already working in operations at American Express and earlier worked with Barclays in the retail. What skills do I need or what do i do to make a switch into finance. I've tried my ass of but couldn't make it to a finance role. Someone please guide me. I need advices.
Apply for Big4 company gain some experience also possible for ACCA/CPA you can launched directly to a good position with BIG4 experience you can apply for BCG or prepare for CAT and graduate from MBA

This comment hit me hard!!!
There is no end
If you cannot enjoy the journey, the path itself is wrong for you
Cause the end is death, everything prior to that is the journey

Finally, a fabulous full blown English interview. It helps the non Hindi speakers (56% of our population) to understand more.
Majority will prevail but Hindi is my heart
Exactly
