    I run on the off road track inside. You got me tempted to ditch my team powers v5 and give this G4 a shot.

      I would focus more on setup until you actually need a new motor. The V5 is still pretty new. Once you have the setup or need a new motor, the go with the G4... but the G4 is hard to beat. Definitely, one of my top picks.

      @telecomandorc April 19 2024 was the Grand opening. I am new to carpet 1/12 scale pan car and ordered a xerun v10 G4.
      Nice review 👌

    Just picked this motor up. Putting it on the analyzer, the g4 is in another ballpark compared to the numbers I got on my team powers v5. excited to run motor really soon see if my lap time drops

      It is such a great motor. I have run all three windings and they are all awesome.

      This is my dilemma now. I have a team powers v5 and it's all everyone was ragging about at my local track. My local track is the north America main distributor for team powers so it makes sense. I went with a 17.5 team.powers v5 and I'm tempted to give this G4 a shot. Have you tried the G4 yet? Any opinions between the G4 and the V5?

      @@LegendsPizzaCo g4r is out now and it's a much a stronger motor than the v5. The v5 is a great motor but the hobbywing is better and it's not as heat sensitive. Then if you install a hsu rotor in the hobbywing you will like the extra torque

      @user-ft5vq1ki9y good to know thank you. Im building another car now and torn on my motor choice lol. I've always wanted to try a Fantom Helix. Then I saw these G4r motors and they looked nice too. I run all hobbywing escs too. Do you like the hw over the fantom too?

      @MiguelOrtiz-s3f 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@LegendsPizzaCo The fantom I used was used so I can't give it fair assessment.
      I for sure would go hw. It's very well built and its priced very fairly. You won't be let down.
      I also run the hw esc and it's nice because you can pull all the data from a hw motor.

    What ESC model do you recommend with this motor? Which ESC is installed to your car?

    • @telecomandorc

      I run a Justock G4 in one and X10 G2 Pro in the other. If you are running spec, Justock is all you need.

    What motor would you recommend for a traxxas 4-tec in VTA 25.5 class? My local track is indoor on really smooth slick black top and a short straight away.

    • @telecomandorc
      @telecomandorc  Год назад +1

      That is tough. I would see what most of the top guys are running. If not, I would go with a Fantom or Trinity Slot Machine. Although, I have had a few Trinity motors go bad but they are generally good about replacing them within the year warranty. The HW G3 has the RPM but not the torque. But that would be my third choice.

      @TelecomandoRC Thanks. I did ask a good driver at the shops track but he didn't really have an answer. He wanted to sell me the new motiv motor but it was the only motor they had left in stock. So wasn't sure if it was a good motor or he just needed to make a sale.

    • @SpeedDemonExpress
      @SpeedDemonExpress Год назад +1

      @TelecomandoRC By the way, I hope you get a chance to test the new Muchmore FLETA ZX Specter V3 motor. They are claiming 35% more power than a "conventional" motor. Whatever that means. But if it's 35% more power than a slot machine or x factor, that sounds like a breakthrough design.

    • @telecomandorc
      @telecomandorc  Год назад +3

      @@SpeedDemonExpress I do not have much experience with Motiv, but sounds about right 😂.
      Now, I will be honest, motors are not the priority when getting started. Any one motor will pretty much do until you get used to setup and driving the best lines. Now the cheap motors are... well cheap. I have run tracstar, ecopower, and a few others. They are good for a budget, but I would stick to the ones I mentioned. Some guys really like R1. They work. Kv is low relative to turns but you set them to 40-45 degrees and gear up to the moon and they do well.

    • @telecomandorc
      @telecomandorc  Год назад +2

      @@SpeedDemonExpress Those are bold claims they make. I'll shop for a deal and order some. Probably a 21.5T and 25.5T.

    Hey can you run the 13.5T V10 G4 with the hobbywing justock ESC? Or would it be better for the Pro stock ESC?

    • @telecomandorc
      @telecomandorc  Год назад +1

      It depends on what the class rules are running. The Justock is blinky only. It is all you need for a 13.5T blinky class. If you are not running a blinky class and want some timing or need a smaller esc, go with the Pro Stock. A Justock will handle a 13.5T in an SCT blinky class.

    • @tlin2010

      You can also run a hobbywing 160 esc

      @@telecomandorc thanks I’m running it in a Team Powers SNRC R3 Pro touring car. The only rule here is 13.5T. Most of the guys are running boost and turbo but I’m new to the touring cars so I think I’ll be fine with the justock esc for a little while and then I’ll upgrade to the Pro G2 160a esc. Appreciate your help.
