I have only seen Harry play a few times but this video shows how poker is a lucky game. All things equal Harry and David should crush them however David never really got any cards. With him out of the way Harry should win easily. Instead the amateur triples up on some weird plays but "skill" should decide it. Well he instead gets lucky a couple more times and then Harry finds himself needing to dodge a 5 which he can't. When Annie Duke tries to say she doesn't gamble she is wrong as anytime it is not 100% guaranteed you are gambling. Harry doesn't blow up like Phil or play crazy hands like Gus. He is a scientist and yet lost.
It's a final table, luck comes in a lot more than usual at final tables because it can just be all ins due to the blind size vs stack sizes. Depends how long the tourney goes on for and what the structure is like. Also, what percentage of the chips each player has. sometimes you can't even play proper poker, just have to get lucky. More skill comes earlier in the tournament to get yourself into the money.
Be an investor, don't be a compulsive addicted gambler. Buy stocks and bonds of good companies that consistently make a profit year after year. Buy stalwart stocks that pay you a dividend each quarter or annually; such as, Coke (KO), Johnson & Jonson (JNJ), Abbott Labs (ABT), McDonalds (MCD), Sysco (SYY), Microsoft (MSFT).... In my opinion, some addictions are better than others. Do what works for you. Do what puts food on the table. Take care of your woman and kids. Be a man!
