Team Echelon early 2012 formation flying around the Bay Area. Thanks to everyone at Baylands for letting us fly around your spot.
We are all flying on Scherrer Radio systems and using 5.8g video links... if three of us flying, then two on 5.8g and one on 1280mhz.

Pan/Tilt system from ReadyMadeRC. Check the GoPro pan tilt system. I'm using the stock servos from the system they have there.

We each control both the plane and camera movement our selves. :-)

No such thing as "typical" as each system can have a range of factors that help or hurt range. Systems can range from a few hundred feet to many many miles.

Hey,
I have Bixler RC airplane.
My battery (3C 2200) usually lasts for 15-20 minutes non stop power or 45 minutes with engine off a lot of times. I want to start using FPV, what would you recommend me to buy for a beginner and also is your airplanes could last longer on air? and how?
Also, I have DX6i radio controller and Spectrum AR6200 full range receiver, is it good?
What type of beginners FPV system would you recommend me from your website?

The biggest cost is learning it all spending your time. Many many man hours to build and prepare for such flights. then the equipment could range from hundreds to many thousands depending on what builds one decides on. Collectively its a hobby for someone with disposable income and not cheap unfortunately.
