I love the trick with the paper towel and coin. Much better than using just your brush or masking fluid. Thanks for this video. I have some inspiration 😊
I absolutely love watching your tutorials - you make it look so easy but I guess that also comes from years of experience. I have ordered one of your books and a tube of your sand colour to get me started - wish me luck!
Wow love it , i am learning so much from you tube . I am 74 & have just starting to do painting , something I have aways wanted to do since I first picked up paints as a small girl. Wanted to do art my mother said no money in art , so family left now my time.
Thanks heaps Charles. You are very easy to follow. Now I think I will give this a go. I’m binge watching all you videos and I will be buying your book. I think you are awesome 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for the tips. I wish I could show you my follow along painting. Came out great. Love the coin tip. I get too uptight with every detail I need to relax and enjoy painting.
Hello Charles, yet again I'm in awe of you. You make it look so easy, well for someone with your talent it is. I so love to watch you paint. The other thing that I love about you is that even though you are a great and well-known artist, you are still down to earth. Many thanks for your time and tuition, and please stay safe there are lots of us out here that look forward to your videos. x😃
That was fun again Charles. Thanks, you've taught me to be bolder with skies and get those lovely clouds, easily! Your palette would be a nightmare for me LOL, I'd get mud, but for an artist it doesn't matter, does it? Love the hand shake grasses.
Ive got your boats and harbours book and I find very the step by step stages easy to follow I really enjoy drawing and having ago at painting boats I struggle painting sky and water through so hopefully this book will help me improve on water and sky
Hi Charles. I have all of your books ,they are so inspiring.I still cant really get the hang of lifting out clouds with the brush, I have to go over them another once or twice to get the effect you get in just one go. mmmmmm.
XHi Charles Peter from Aus. As always thanks for your time. Love the sky,and surprise it cam out well! . I finally use the side of the brush. From all of your followers in Aus. To you and all your family please stay well And please keep painting Thanks Peter Butler, artist in practice.
I am very pleased that I stumbled across your channel recently and your ability to describe and illustrate your techniques is amazing. My only other comment would be that you don’t normally have a full moon and a sunset in the same scene? There’s one in every crowd isn’t there.
Another great video Charles, so inspirational. Can I ask which would you advise to try first, acrylics or watercolours? I am keen to try one of them but not quite sure which. Thankyou.
@@charlesevans7706 Charlie any chance of a video explaining how to paint from a reference photo I,e an ocean sunset and how you would plan that out. Mate keep up the fantastic content
I’ve just bought this book, and it’s great. The tracings are very useful for a drawing reference. It was helpful to see the master demonstrating one of the pictures. There’s only one thing I don’t understand. Why is there a hole in the front cover of the book? Great demo. Thank you.
Minal Charlie also has a "recipe" for sand in his "Pocket Book For Watercolor Artists" If my memory is correct it is yellow ochre, raw umber and a touch of ultramarine blue!
