By that same logic though did Spiderman's "Mr. Stark I don't want to go" moment, hit you less hard because you knew there was a sequel in the works? Having meta knowledge doesn't necessarily detract from good writing (made all the more remarkable given "quality" of prequel movie writing).

I love how once the chip was removed Rex is in complete disbelief of what has occurred and he distances himself from the Republic by calling Ahsoka "Kid" instead of commander as well as the way he calls her by name when she asks how widespread it is.
I loled about this, Rex is like 13 years old (physically 26)
@@ebnus3146 Haha true forgot about that.
Yeah I love when he calls her kid but she’s older than him, but also he calls her kid through the series. The way he says it, is very bouncy. Probably because he’s free from the chip, and is more of individual now.
...yes...
Holy crap I missed that. How in the world did I miss that?
You've gotta love how Ahsoka keeps trying not to hurt the clones, while Rex doesn't hesitate for a second, displaying how much she means to him
It makes them supposedly splitting up right after all this goes down very unlikely as for all they know, they only have each other left in the entire galaxy with everyone they had known perishing from order 66. This is why I really hope for the Ahsoka series that it starts out right after the ending of season 7 of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and it shows how the two learn of what had happened and survive to evade capture from a newly formed empire that has been formed.
Well you notice how the very first clones who open fire on her in the bridge she does actually deflect some of the bolts back at them in a combat reaction. Once she knows what’s going on she manages to stop that.
Yeah but unlike Yoda and Obi Wan they didn't hesitate to kill the clones on Coruscant, they won't just stand there and allow themselves to be killed.
@@alexgordon7633 If you watched The Clone Wars, the 332nd Division has bonded with Ahsoka so much that they used her face tatoo on their helmets. That's the main reason why Ahsoka couldn't stand the thought of killing them.

The chip got extracted just in time. This has to hit Rex pretty hard. Not only does he have to live with the fact that he almost killed ahsoka, but now he's forced to shoot his brothers to survive even though it is entirely different circumstances than Umbara. Also, how in the world is he gonna meet up with Wolf and Gregor? But now they have a much bigger problem? How in the hell are they gonna get out of that room? It's closed off. Wait a minute...what if Maul shows up and dispatches the troopers on the other side creating an opening?
I'm gonna take a guess, and say they somehow get separated during episode 12
I'm sorry to ask this because I haven't watched the show. Why would maul help them? He's a sith not a Jedi, the clones wouldn't be killing him right?
@@seankhieotue-in7193 if you have a lightsaber and can use the force you're getting shot, the clones received the order to execute Maul as well.
@@seankhieotue-in7193
When ahsoka saved maul the clones were about to kill maul. Order 66 basically means kill any force user. In one of the comics a former Jedi uses this to his advantage. He basically says "execute order 66" when faced with a group of Inquisitors and clones, making the clones shoot the Inquisitor.
@@six6245 maul was also a loose end so they could have been updated by sidious to kill him as well. You can see it in another episode where a Cline's chip activates early and the clone walks right past Anakin to kill a jedi general.
Guys
The very *fact* that AHOSKA is trying her very best to be NON lethal against the Clones with the murderous intent of killing her says a lot about her character...and as a Jedi Knight.
finally someone points it out!
Yeah, she's grown to love these clones.
Although, clone armour doesn’t seem to be flimsy. Just because they get knocked down doesn’t mean that they’re dead. If that were the case, then there wouldn’t be any need to call for medics
It really adds to who she is in contrast with the council. In the movie, they casually tore apart the clones attacking them (mainly because they weren’t as connected to them as their personal troops like the 501st). But still, The arrogance of the Jedi along with their similarities to the Sith was a big part in Anakins turn to the dark side. And Ahsoka’s efforts in not killing the clones exemplifies not only what the Jedi should have been, but how Anakin taught her. She was a symbol of the light in Anakins heart that was blown out when the council turned its back on her
Obi Wan and Yoda: anyway I started Slashing
The fact they still have the paint job on their helmets makes this so much worse

Quickest yet most accurate brain surgery EVER, even by Star Wars logic's standards.
Ive rewatched this countless times and still get chills
Am I the only one bothered by how in rebels, Rex says "I removed my inhibitor chip. We all have a choice " when really, ahsoka removed the chip for him? He resisted the chip for a bit at the beginning, but he really didnt have a choice
It could have been a personal topic by the time the Galactic Civil War took place. Plus, Rex had Gregor and Wolffe with him on that small tank. They all had some form of PTSD at that point. The only person who appeared to be handling it well enough was Rex himself. For all we know, he could have tried to apologize to Ahsoka for nearly killing her when he joined up with the Rebellion. It is a shame they did not include that scene at the end of his recruitment episode. Not only would it have been a call back to the Clone Wars series and films but also acknowledge what happened in the course of Order 66.
Since we see what happened in CW and Rex said something different in Rebels, it's safe to assume he said what he said to ease Kanan into trusting him a bit more.
It would make sense considering Kanan possibly fourteen at the time.
Technically he did have a choice. He chose not to kill but that chip took that choice from him.
Yeah, this doesn't quite match up with what we heard in Rebels. But it's not like this is the first time something didn't mesh with something else in Star Wars. lol
Hearing Rex say "the entire grand army of the republic has been ordered to hunt down and destroy the jedi knights" along with that score gives me chills everytime
“Fives” 🥺
"Ya kid..... I'm Okay." God that delivery nearly made me nearly tear up. The utter guilt and pain relayed by rex actions is just anguishing. Makes me wonder under the programming by Order 66 do all the clones feel that guilty?
depends on the clone i imagine, the ones that are close to their jedi commanders would while the ones that arent likely just view it as an unpleasant neccesity at best
Some clones, albeit a small fraction of them, disobeyed order 66 even if they still had their inhibitor chips with them. Majority of the Clones who disobeyed were mostly Clone Commandos.
ryan williams idk would you say that’s more because they think it’s them making a cognitive action? As opposed to the chip making them do it? I mean you see how resistant Rex was earlier to the whole thing. Shaking in refusal to do it by then ultimately forced to. I wouldn’t be surprised if more clones knew they would feel just as awful about it.
@@clarencedelacruz7822 i think your mixing legends with canon there, the control chip as rex showed cannot be resisted for long even with awareness of it. the legends explanation had a much more loose indoctrination explanation that could be ignored with enough willpower, the clone commandos resistance was a legends product.
It depends, some clones felt guilty and others though they were doing the right thing (you can see this in the Kanan: Last Padawan comic)
Ahsoka CARRIED...the last 2 episode were SO physically demanding for ahsoka...and she still managed to survive- just goes to show what an incredible warrior she really is
This episode gave me sooo much goosebumps, especially when we heard the ,,Execute Order 66” from Palps, something I waited so many years to her and see in the clone wars style animation. Although Maul is a Sith and we loved the clones, it feels so satisfying to see him kick the shit out of them now and hear them yell "Fall back! Fall back!" It's really a Sith taking on the new Sith army of his once Master Sidious...
Delta_TM Only the 501st stayed the rest of the clones were de-commissioned
I mean, most people like maul since clone wars anyway. Sure he is a sith but he is a very interesting character and alot of the time he does alot of good for the universe.
Maul’s not a Sith anymore.
Poor Ridge... survived the entire war from Teth to Mandolore, only to be killed by Maul
Anybody notice rex called her "kid" I bet that's a reference to the clone wars movie, it's one of the first thing ahsoka gets called by rex.
RIP that brave clone who, without a weapon, did his duty and kept the door open in vain for his brothers. He must have had a lot of regrets when he died.
Stop saying he lied in rebels when he said "I didn't betray my Jedi." He obviously meant he didn't betray them by killing them smh.
@Misaki's disaster Obviously it was Anakin who was his Jedi but he still didn't kill a single Jedi including Ahsoka. Even if she wasn't his Jedi as per say we can surely say she was a Jedi nonetheless. Also the wording can be interpreted on Ahsoka as well as there are no specifics, "I didn't betray my Jedi," Jedi can be used both singularly and plural meaning his Jedi could mean the plural or those Jedi he was with i.e Ahsoka and Anakin. Also he says that specific line in Rebels too appease Kanan (idk his name really) as he didn't kill his Jedi like the other clones did with their Jedi too show he wasn't the enemy.
@Victor Nikolai Calm down there bud, take a breather. Yes all that is true but he didn't betray his Jedi 😉
Victor Nikolai his brothers are turned killers, the republic collapsed, and everything he fought for is gone. How is he a traitor kid?
@Victor Nikolai u do realize bio chips didn't give clones a choice lol
Technically, none of the clones betrayed their Jedi as they had no control over their inhibitor chips. Even Rex was taken by it despite resisting at first.
What's tragic isn't the fact that he killed his brothers but that this isn't his first time doing so.
did anyone else notice that immediately after Rex saved Ahsoka, for just a moment, he actively points his blasters at *her*? like, he was still processing that he still HAD the Order, but now he could say "No". (at about 0:59-1:01)

Feels like watching the last 4 episodes like watching a movie and not just some cartoon tv show.
The fact that in the earlier seasons of Clone Wars we got to witness countless victories on the parts of Anakin, Ahsoka, and Rex makes it so horrifying to witness their ultimate defeat. I truly miss the light-hearted days of Clone Wars when everyone was on the same side and loyalties weren’t blurred.
Rex having to shoot his own brothers
Try not to cry
*CRY ALOT*
That's so upsetting. Rex is the only one to have gotten the chip removed unlike those thousands of clones, who were considered friends, family. Who were either forced to kill Jedi or they were the ones being killed.
The emotion, action, dialogue and the soundtrack in this episode though..... *everything is so unusually perfect*
Ahsoka and Rex fighting to survive while Maul creates mayhem. The time has finally come.
This is the most emotional episode in *all* of Clone Wars History
Fives watching this from heaven like: "I HAD PROOF THAT EVERYTHING I KNEW WAS TRUE BEYOND A SHADOW OF A DOUBT!!!"
The way he says "yeah kid im ok" is amazing and sad
Something everyone overlooks in this scene is that Rex just killed 4 clones (granted it was for self defense) but it will definitely haunt him for the rest of his life.
I'm in devastation 😭
Rex face as it pans to him after opening fire is heartbreaking. His world has come crashing down. Calling Ahsoka “kid” is another fantastic touch.
Season 7 is the reason one day I'll watch the whole series.
Ahsoka, it’s all of us, the entire grand army of the republic has been ordered to hunt down and destroy the Jedi knights
Well...fuck
I feel sorry for the clone who (lost his arm) and (the guy who held the door)
Well at least the guy who got shot have some chances (sometimes this armour does work)
CloneWars501232 and The clone just got his arm cut nothing serious
it’s crazy bro, never seen the clones so mindlessly blood thirsty.
