Those carburettors need balancing..a simple task that needs doing regular on them early boxer twins...noticed it when you fired it up...I had a r65 for years...loved it
Very nice, I have a 650 Bandit and Steib copy that I love driving. Quirky and illogical to some but addictive and absorbing. Using chain drive allows easier modification of drive ratio but with all the issues of a chain and of course the chair makes it harder to access!!
It runs good on the standard gearing. Like you say chain drive would be easier for changing the sprockets to alter the gearing. The only thing I did was put a heavy duty clutch in as the original one kept slipping.
@@ClassicOilyMotors have you transforme..the gearbox..or the pont..(to put more short).. I remember in FRANCE..the R 60..model (1969) was conforme to have a side car.. but this modèle was a problem... what have you done ?...
@@schirmeyerb The gearbox is standard gearing but I had to fit a heavy duty clutch as the original was slipping with the extra weight. It pulls ok on the standard gearing.

Pretty sweet but I can't believe they didn't put the CV Bing carbs on this model.
Just looked it's got Bing 53 carbs fitted
@@ClassicOilyMotors I don't think those are the CV carbs.

Does sidecars reduce bikes mileage???
The only thing I had to do was fit a heavy duty clutch as the old one was slipping with the extra weight.
