Hopefully the 454 just has a stuck/dirty oil bypass valve or something that doesn’t require major surgery. If it has something left to weld new rockers and floors to then you are already ahead in this sick game. Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas
That’s what I’m hoping. Everything in it is new and it didn’t knock; just had a drastic drop in oil pressure. I pulled it right after that; haven’t opened it up yet. I don’t think the sheet metal will too bad. I did a 65 Dodge van a few years ago and it was way worse than this. Put a lot of metal in that one. Thanks for watching; Merry Christmas!
Great rehab video.. Curious to see what the BB looks like internally. I think keeping the overdrive auto might be a better bet, if, it is shifting properly.
That goo is on there! Tried some heavy degreaser and it seemed to make it worse. I’ll have to try something else or get another wheel. Merry Christmas!!
My momma and dad when i was growing up have had two square body gm suburbans, and a 78 Chevy Silverado c20 crew cab long bed,a 75 Chevy C10 gold top and bottom and center frost gloss white two tone Silverado air conditioning and power steering am fm 8 track stereo,454 BBC th400, and 12 bolt rear 4.56 gears,a black with gunmetal grey 86 GMC Sierra classic c2500 454 tbi th400 transmission 14 bolt 3.42 gears, fully loaded with barn doors minus sunroof and luggage rack options,am fm auto reverse stereo cassette tape player like your suburban has it a 80's model piece,pw,pdl, tilt steering cruise front and rear ac,6 speaker stereo. The 75 was not a rear ac truck and did have the tailgate, and the 78 Chevy Silverado c20 crew cab long bed was pretty much loaded except for one or pdl,it was also a cruise truck and factory ac, and also had a tach dash
The light is a 90-95 gmt400 truck and blazer jimmy suburban piece usually goes on the passenger side of the inner fender behind the battery in a gmt400 truck
Hey Darren, it’s been a while! Well, this is a sentimental thing, my dad’s last truck before he passed was a 76 Suburban so I’m building myself a copy of it. Thanks for watching!
@@darrenbrisson4336hey I’m still working on the 59 wagon; that’s my cool project for the moment. I thought you liked those Furds? Merry Christmas, brother!!

@ actually my next project after the wagon is for someone else; I’m doing quarters and other metal work on a 70 ElCamino for a buddy. Neat car; he’s the original owner and ordered it with a 302 Z28 when he got home from Vietnam. I’m thinking of starting to do more work for other people and make a little $$ for myself. The Suburban is going to be my personal truck in honor of my dad; it’ll be a keeper. I do like the look of those low riders; very cool build style.
Thank you for your testimony. God is good! Started watching you when you worked on the van/truck conversation.
Thank you, brother; much appreciated. Have a blessed Christmas and thank you for watching!
Thank you for your testimony, sounds just like my past. I've been saved by Our Lord. I enjoy your videos especially the end . Stay BLESSED.
Awesome, thanks for watching, brother. God be praised!
It sounds really.
Good now
Thanks, Don! Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
Merry Christmas to you, too!

Yeah, I’m curious, too. Fingers crossed that it’s not hurt internally. My wife wants the automatic to stay, too!
Happened to me, I dealt with the devil alone, Til I came to meet my wife & I let it all go. 👍🙏
Amen, brother! God is good!
Nothing is junk if it is something you want to invest time in
Very true. I think rust is part of for the course with square bodies. Merry Christmas!!
The only time I saw those switches on those trucks is when they have dual gas tanks.
Same here. I’ll have to track down the wiring when the time comes to tear it down.
Good luck with it, my absolute body style GM trucks.
@@miguelpagansr6128thanks!
1984-1988 the rear ac switch and the ones that have the power tailgate have two switches there
The auxiliary wiring under the hood and the rheostats for the heater was probably having issues and they tried to hardwire it
There was definitely some creative engineering going on!
You must have rubbed all of Goo off of that steering wheel it looks completely different lol
That goo is on there! Tried some heavy degreaser and it seemed to make it worse. I’ll have to try something else or get another wheel. Merry Christmas!!
Medium saddle soap a scrub brush and a bit of acetone
Be cool to turn it into a crew cab
Thanks for watching, Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas 😊
Merry Christmas to you too!
Merry Christmas 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Merry Christmas to you too!
If it was me I'd just rebuild the quadrajet carb on the truck...
Well, this was only $120 and it seems to run really good. I’m planning on a FiTech fuel injection once I do the engine swap. Thanks for watching!
I think that gas tank came from the same fuel injected Suburban the seats came out of. Previous owner must have had a donor burb for parts.
Yep, you’re probably right. Probably the 700r4, too. Merry Christmas!

Sounds like some cool trucks. Wow, a th400 with 4.56 gears! I’ll bet that was a stump puller! Thanks for watching and Merry Christmas!
Black under the hood retractable light does it have its own wiring harness or just a fuse to the battery
It’s a pretty cool option, never saw one before. Thanks for watching!
@@Savinjunk I have one and I have a 76 C10 and I never knew where to put it I guess now I do Merry Christmas

Let me know if you decide not to use the 80's model Delco gm cassette tape player stereo sir
Will do. It all works so I think I may keep it. I still have quite a few cassettes.
Yeah why did you thought you were into customizing ? a suburban why?
You've been slowly going down hill from the Impala you need another cool project this isn't it that's for sure big heavy lump of shat🎉
