I believe that for what this radio is, it does a good job and sells at a reasonable price. Most people will buy this radio for it's emergency capability and not for it's shortwave sensitivity.
In the UK the exact same radio is branded DAB+, it's branded under different names in other parts of Europe. Yours is branded Rocam but Rocam has nothing to do with this item. Its a generic mass market production item from Xiachung China. It works very well with amazing power and charging options, AAA batteries, Solar Power, hand-crank, USB, elastic band! Worth the £50. I like the wind-up feature the best, it reminds me of the _BayGen_ first hand-crank radio to hit the market several decades ago. Radios are common in Africa but batteries are not, hence the _BayGen_ cornered that niche end of the market making its inventor quite wealthy.
how efficient are the batteries with all that led and does the charge crank work ? also can the solar keep it running ? these are the questions we need answering
Answers my question.... I really love my radio but the fact I don't get notified when imminent weather is approaching, or public broadcast capabilities, kinda sucks. I've had this for about a year and thought I wasn't using the full capabilities.
I BOUGHT ROKAM EMERGENCY RADIO FROM AMAZON NICE LITTLE JEWEL OF A RADIO ITS MY CHRISTMAS PRESENT I SUGGEST YOU BUY ONE FOR YOURSELF IT COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE HAPPY HO.IDAYS....
I like this radio review but you seem to place a lot of emphasis on the short wave band that most people will seldom use anyway. For emergency purposes it is a fine radio.

Thanks for the review
It’s been plugged in since opening it- I put 3 brand new duracell triple A batteries. Nothing even lights up when power button is pushed.
Someone is selling one of those near me and I am really interested in the crank to usb manual charging, which no one is really reviewing.
I have this model! It's a great radio! As far as the shortwave I do wish that it had memory to save frequencies that I listen to!
Gilles how menney shortwave receivers do you have that's cool
It doesn't seem to be great for shortwave, but otherwise, it looks like a good radio. I like the fact that it will take AAA batteries.

Got question does radio always drawing power when not using radio
MW was almost non functional on mine. Also by the time I can tune a shortwave station, it's off the air.

people who buy this radio will want shortwave reception, or else they will just get a standard emergency radio with only AM FM
