    Hello Nic, looks great, not too big not too small and there's a lot of people who live in overcast parts of the world that could benefit from this. Looking forward to your further tests.

    Thank you so much for these videos. I always do product research before buying something but wasn't even sure where to start with UV light as most of what is available in stores is for disinfection and doesn't list the wavelength. I've also seen your video where you use the Everbeam model and I think it's the right tool for me. Doesn't take up too much space and can produce consistent cyanotypes when the sun isn't out. Thanks for sharing!

    So, if you're going to process cyanotype images, get a uv lamp with a 365nm wave-length and if you're going to process platinum images, get a 400+ nm wave-length?

    • @NicoleSmallOneonOne
      @NicoleSmallOneonOne  3 года назад +1

      There abouts yes. But I cannot say for sure exactly which would be the best suitable light source for platinum images.

    Thank you for sharing your experiences, it has been super helpful. I am wondering if you think this UV light source can work for larger prints as well. Would it be necessary to have two of the lights for an image that is 22 inches wide by 8 inches high?

    • @NicoleSmallOneonOne
      @NicoleSmallOneonOne  3 года назад

      Hi Deborah. Sorry for the late reply! The largest prints I have worked with so far have with this light is 11x14 and I have gotten a good even coverage. According to the specs on this light it has a 120 degree light spread which is pretty good. I will try out some larger prints and see, but I am sure by this time you may have already tried?

      @@NicoleSmallOneonOne Thanks for your response Nicole. I ended up using a stronger light which worked for the size of my prints. Your videos were super helpful in helping me get good results so thank you so much for posting your experience.

      @@kakafeugotakis15 Hi, I'm new to the party and so thankful for the great advice people have shared about their UV light experience. I'm curious - when you say you used a stronger light, are you referring to the watts? Did you use a 100 w light? Thanks!!

    I wonder why under "Features" it reads 395nm/365nm wavelength. Do you think it's a mixture of LEDs and not 100% 365nm?

    • @NicoleSmallOneonOne
      @NicoleSmallOneonOne  3 года назад

      Hi! It does indicate "High Performance LED Bulbs" in the title, so maybe this is the case. In features I read" 365nm VS 395nm" , and then they explain the difference of each. I am not sure if this is what you mean?

    • @NicoleSmallOneonOne
      @NicoleSmallOneonOne  3 года назад

      Oh, I just realized what you meant! It mentions both type of UV lights, 365nm/395nm, are not harmful to the eyes, as they sell both in those categories as many of theses versions of lights are in fact very harmful to the eyes, although you shouldn't look straight it to them anyway :)

    • @jbugmd
      @jbugmd 3 года назад +1

      @@NicoleSmallOneonOne What I mean is, the Features printed on your box leads me to believe all the LEDs on this particular model are not just 365nm, but a mixture of 365nm and 395nm. (timestamp 5:52). I'm going to see if the seller on Amazon can clarify. Thanks for your reply, I really enjoy your videos!

    • @jbugmd
      @jbugmd 3 года назад +1

      @@NicoleSmallOneonOne I'm beginning to think that the manufacturer is just saving on printing two different boxes for the two different wavelengths. At least I hope that's it. It's my understanding 365nm LEDs are expensive, which makes the price on this a very good deal if they're all 365nm.

    • @NicoleSmallOneonOne
      @NicoleSmallOneonOne  3 года назад

      @@jbugmd Hi, yes you are right, they are in reality extremely expensive and I understand your questioning. Let me know what they say.

    Could you estimate time versus the distance between the cyanotype and the light source?

    • @NicoleSmallOneonOne
      @NicoleSmallOneonOne  4 года назад +1

      HI Nina. You can estimate those factors for sure. I just got this light so I have not gotten into any of those specifics just yet.

    You seem a lovely lady but what on earth have you been using for research ? It’s the wattage that is very important . Use 50 W for about 15 mins.

    • @NicoleSmallOneonOne
      @NicoleSmallOneonOne  2 года назад +3

      Yes, it is the wattage that is very important.
      Did I know this when I started to use an artificial light source for the first time with the cyanotype? No, I did not. It is irrelevant, especially now, what I have been using for research. Not everyone starts at the same place of knowledge.
      There will always be commentary that will make me look slightly foolish for bothering to do something, trying something, or even sharing steps I have taken to try to figure something out, and that's ok. The path I ended up following was followed, and no matter how it gets chopped up, I have learned and gained knowledge through every twist and turn.
      Most of the videos I have shared on the Cyanotype are not for those who have it all figured out anyway. The bulk of the videos detail my beginnings and experiments with the process in a variety of ways, and sharing them was a decision I wanted to take regardless of whether it made any sense to the more knowledgeable and experienced.
      Everyone has their own journey to understanding and progress.
      P.S. This is a video from 2 years ago!!
