Just subscribed. I'm preparing for my 1st rv trip. I'm excited but it's also a little scary as I'm in my 70's and travelling solo. You give great tips without all the fluff. Any tips for keeping safe, which is my biggest concern. Thank you for a great video!
Thanks for subscribing and good luck on your first trip! The first one is always scary, but very exciting. The biggest thing that I've found regarding safety is to carefully research each and every campground or overnight stop. My first step is always checking the campground reviews in RV Life Trip Wizard where I specifically look for how big rig friendly it is (because of our size) and how safe it is, not only the campground itself, but also the surrounding area. I've even started taking it a step further and checking out the Google reviews if I still have questions. We've also had great luck with Harvest Host and Boondockers Welcome locations.
great video, bliss hills looks amazing. As much as i love all of the room and amenties your awesome rig has. Owning a new campervan opens up so many more possibilities when planning an RV trip. Its so much easier and have a ton more options.
I absolutely agree that you have way more options and we will eventually do a camper van or truck camper at some point for a season so we can get into some of those harder to reach and off the beaten path areas.
Great video! Wife and I love using trip wizard and learned a lot of stuff on the video, thanks for sharing. We replaced those fender screws last year with some stainless machine screws with stainless nylon lock nuts. Have held up great so far. Those hepvo seem like more trouble than anything else. We have traditional p-traps and have never had to remove or clean any of them so far. I noticed that GD seems to use whatever is available on the build day. I looked at some 2025s and they have p-traps so I’m guessing there is no rhyme or reason for how the plumbing is finished. Take care!
Awesome, I have been using Good Sam Trip Planner but I have been thinking about using Trip Wizard for our next trip out, which will be next summer but I would like to just buy it now and learn how to use it in the mean time though.
We do use trip wizard with our Garmin 890. It is very very finicky to get the trip into the Garmin. It sometimes takes us several attempts to get it to work. We do wish the 2 worked better together.
That's a big reason we switched to using Trip Wizard for navigating, besides the opened up dashboard space. I had previously had so many problems entering addresses and trying to figure out how Garmin wanted them spelled out.
Well, they're supposed to be better at keeping odors out, not drying up, etc., but in my experience, they get clogged way too easily. It's just what our RV came with, but we may change them out eventually. Fortunately, they're easy to remove and clean.
Been using Trip Wizard for 3 years. Works great. Now that Android Auto has been enabled I can get trip maps directly on my trucks display. I will say that I never had any good luck with the GPS export to Google maps. But with Android auto compatibility that doesn't matter any more.

Great info! Thanks for the rv trip wizard tips!
Thank you and you're welcome!

Great job with the video.
Thank you!

I think you're right about Grand Design. Whatever is available and no consistency. I think they have a sourcing issue.
The navigating and the planner. Now my subscription is well over and can't see getting another . Thanks
I'm really loving all of the features that I've never explored before, especially the satellite and street views. That alone saves me so much time.
Yes !I envy all that can get it to work. I am not knocking your video Its just a general comment.
No worries! I think it depends on what you're looking for and what your planning style is. What have you found to use instead?

I really love how easy it is to plan trips and keep everything in one place.

Why would you want a waterless trap ?

Rv trip wizard ....does not work ....do not waste your money like I did.
What part didn't work for you? The trip planner or the navigation?

We love the Android Auto compatibility. I'm also loving the "new to me" features I'm just now discovering.
