    This is why it was so awesome when they did a full BTS week on Jimmy Fallon and the very first song they performed was Idol in front of the King's Throne Room in the main palace in Seoul. Like, people say we're too Westernized? Here's America watching us being Korean and being proud of it!

    David have more explained videos of BTS music videos. He’s an Army. And V is his bias too. Watch his explain version for Baepsae, Spine breaker and Ugh. Amazing! High respect to BTS and for David for explaining Korean culture way
    About idol. I love the lyrics. Its about accepting yourself regardless of how people see you

      Also 'DDAENG'. There are so many slangs and word play, and knowing what they mean makes that rap even more amazing.

    Where I come from, people around me have lot more orthodox thinking esp my family... BTS opened my eyes to a whole new world, I became more sensitive to what might be considered not normal , I learned a lot about different things in life. Even though I cannot change the thinking of my elders I can be the change may be influence the younger ones.
    I'm forever grateful to BTS for that💜

    I always enjoy his explanation videos. Also its always nice seeing how in depth bts goes with their lyrics to the smallest details, as well as using details in the mv to further emphasize them. Such messages and the details I think are definitely why bts is so loved and cherished by many, because people can relate. Despite the fame too though they always stay humble and grounded. The thing with haters is that they don't see or try to see what bts songs really mean and their main priority is put them down. And I can definitely relate to us having different sides of ourselves that we have to learn to love. I have gotten bullied alot in the past and that has effected my self confidence and ultimately how hard I am on my self. But when I discovered bts they helped me get out of that phase and continue to help me when I feel that way. Their messages are so encouraging. And they are also vulnerable and show how despite their success they understand how we feel and are also feel such emotions themselves. But we can work together to get over such hurdles 💜

      I absolutely agree with you. It is such an important message and example the set. They show their struggles as well. Wich makes their message real and valid. Thanks for opening up about your struggles as well. You are amazing exactly the way you are 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

    Hi guys, I am so happy that you watched DKDKTVs explanation video! Yes, Idol is also up there on my favourite list! I like the genius wordplay and symbolism in this.
    I think you've watched a video from DKDKTV's channel before, they are David Kim and Danny Kim, so you might have seen a video with Danny before :) These two have polar opposite personalities and do a lot of k-pop and k-culture related content.
    The song is very powerful and it makes me happy to hear some South African beats in Idol :) its so international and still showing the Korean culture. I love languages as well Tim and learned Japanese when I was a teenager. By now I understand more Korean than I do Japanese though I never took formal classes ahaha. but knowing Japanese definitely eases one into Korean language :) The grammar and pronunciation is totally different, but there are similar words and similar concepts to Japanese, which won't seem so foreign anymore, coming from a European language...

    • @stufr.reacts
      @stufr.reacts  3 года назад

      Oh wow. So in awe of you understanding Korean and Japanese. I want that too 🤣💜

    Oh I enjoyed this reaction so much, guys. Tim, perhaps the globe being blue at the end is again a reference to Korea, blue being one of the colors of their flag which symbolizes the um (yin in Chinese).
    This MV was the first BTS video I saw. One of the most important lessons they have helped me to learn is to accept that I am multifaceted and that I can validly be any and all sides of myself without being a bad or phony person.

    • @stufr.reacts
      @stufr.reacts  3 года назад

    Great video guys! It's always nice to see you actually interested in the deeper meaning of the songs unlike some others. 😉 I especially love the 'ursoo', 'jihwaja' and 'deonggideok kungdeoreoreo' bits in the chorus, it's just so simple but clever and not really translatable cause while the english lyrics will just say 'hooray', 'bum badum' etc. the actual words chosen are so interesting and carry so much cultural meaning, cause it's not really something used in day to day speach but rather traditional. I loooove little stuff like that! 😍 and the overall meaning of the songs is amazing, like you said we all have different sides of ourselves and may act a bit differently depending on the situation, but it's all part of us, that makes us who we are. For me, because of my education and overall interests I'm very sensitive to language and expression, and I do notice that I change quite a lot depending on which language I speak, it's actually really fascinating!
    Plus, it's very satisfying to sing "You can't stop me loving myself" at the top of the lungs! It's my favourite work out song 😁
    P.S. You should also check out the Baepsae, Ddaeng and Ugh explanations on their channel. Very informative and well-made!
