We caught the train at Micklefield, to the east of Leeds, where we see the 100 year old locomotive handling its 12 coach train unaided with ease.

A great loco for 100 years old .... Andy
I am on that steam train it’s amazing - highly recommend. Love your posting also
I hope you enjoyed the trip and I'm glad you enjoyed the video .... Andy
Nice video well done great camera work as usual as well keep it up bye for now Philip
Thank you so much. I never think my videos are good enough! ... Andy
Looks like the loco is going for it without any help from behind
Scotsman is plenty powerful enough to handle 12 coaches - Andy

Great video always enjoy seeing steam engines without diesels pushing from behind
The diesels are really unnecessary as long as the steam loco is fitted with a Westinghouse air pump for the brakes (thankfully hidden in the tender with Scotsman) ... Andy
Let's be honest. Having another e ngine at the back is useful. It saves having to "turn Scott around ' for a reverse and sometimes that's impossible anyway and if a brek down happens and it can help is at hand! It's a matter of convenience and caution and if Scott could really talk i'm sure he'd appreciate it!!!!
In the UK the steam locos are always turned for the return journey anyway. The diesel can help if there's a problem with the steam (as you say), although this rarely happens. The diesel helps with acceleration (they're mixing with modern trains) and some steam locos are not fitted for air brakes - the diesel can operate these .... Andy
one minute express
I didn't have the time in my day to set about chasing this one - so we have to settle for just one minute! So sorry! 🙄.... Andy
