Ah, love the crj 200. Had the chance to sit in the cockpit on a maiden flight from Bornholm to Hamborg. We did a low pass in strong sidewind for a tv crew, but the the pilots forgot to mention it to the pax and crew...everybody in the back got a little exciited xD
@Aviationlover100 That is called the stick shaker. Whenever an aircraft enters a stall in flight, the stick (yoke) moves back and forth to give a warning to the pilots so that they recover immediately. These pilots were testing that the stick shaker before take off
@Aviationlover100 that's called a stick-shaker test. A stick-shaker is a device mounted to the yoke, which can make the yoke vibrate a lot when a stall is iminent, to warn the pilots they have only a couple of seconds before the aircraft will stall. Before a flight they test this device.
I work at BA in CYUL. The last CH850 (RJ-200) is in pre-flight. Tail #8113. Yes, that is a stick shaker to warn pilots of imminent stall. DH Q400 has it as well!!!
@Aviationlover100 It's the stick shaker. Designed to warn the pilot that a stall is imminent if they don't take action. I guess it's testing that it works as part of the pre-flight inspection.
@Aviationlover100 its a stall warning test...when the aircraft stalls the stick shakers are intiated so the pilot is gettin the warning through the yoke.
@Aviationlover100 This is the so called "Stickshaker". When you get into a stall the yoke starts to vibrate, so that you realise you're in a stall. On ground that system is beeing tested if it workes, that's what you see on 0:40 ;)
@Aviationlover100 he was doing a stall test! When you go into a stall, the yoke well shake like so! Ive seen it done manually as well. on the LE(leading edge of the wing of prop aircraft there is a little tab at a angle! push it forward simulates no airflow! i.e. Stall.
that's a stick shaker test. On most smaller aircraft (depends on the wing type and many other factors) when reaching critical AoA you would experience aerodynamic buffet, which shakes the structure of the aircraft On this kind of aircraft no buffet is experienced, so a stick shaker is fitted to reproduce to the pilot the feeling of buffeting!! (general explenation!! No details or precise things, just to give an idea)
I would guess it was a "stick shaker" test, the yoke shakes vibrantly when the aircraft is about to enter a stall(lost of lift). its an alarm for the pilots to take immediate action
OMG LOL wen that little thingy opend up at the front of the plain at the start i thught the plain was gonna like start talking or something cause it looked like a face X'DDDD
You're a complete moron! Even though English is a required language for Aviation throughout the world, but it doesn't mean everyone speaks with a Classic Queen's accent, or speaks fluently with American accent. She speaks clearly and every word is pronounced well. It just got under your skin because you couldn't handle watching this young woman is flying as an airline pilot.
@Aviationlover100 That is called the stick shaker. Whenever an aircraft enters a stall in flight, the stick (yoke) moves back and forth to give a warning to the pilots so that they recover immediately. These pilots were testing the stick shaker was working properly before take off
so cute when you see a crj 200 land on such a big runway.
Love it when every pilot procedure say ''Your control... my control''
Nicely executed approach. Love the German accent of the co-pilot.

Sehr schön !
She owned it like a BOSS!
@Aviationlover100 It was the stick shaker. It comes on when the aircraft is about to stall :)

actually the stick shaker activates before a stall condition to prevent the crew to enter a stall condition. It jumps BEFORE stall.
@Aviationlover100 It is the STALL warning shaker. If the airplane is stalling the yoke will shake like that so you will notice it no matter what!
@Aviationlover100 It's the stick shaker. Designed to warn the pilot that a stall is imminent if they don't take action. I guess it's testing that it works as part of the pre-flight inspection.

Must be an integrated popcorn popper in the yoke.
great video splendid job
@Aviationlover100
it was the stall shaker. when the plane stalls the pilots can fell the yoke shaking and know that the plane is stalling.
@Aviationlover100
You really don't know? Its called stick shaker. They are testing the stall warning system.
Its the "Rattle Yoke"
Means: When Airplane shorty before stall the "Rattle Yoke" comes in - a Warning
very nice vid, excellent flying,
@Aviationlover100 Looks like they are testing the stick shaker which is an indication to the pilot that the aircraft is stalling
@Aviationlover100 This is the so called "Stickshaker". When you get into a stall the yoke starts to vibrate, so that you realise you're in a stall. On ground that system is beeing tested if it workes, that's what you see on 0:40 ;)
@Aviationlover100 Testing stall warnings. First a stick shaker comes on, then if the pilots still don't push forward, the stick pusher comes on.
@Aviationlover100 he was doing a stall test! When you go into a stall, the yoke well shake like so!

its the stall warning called "stick shake"
@Aviationlover100 It's the stick shaker.. advise the pilot when the aircraft is stalling
@Aviationlover100 That is a Stall Test.
The Crew must be check the system with a "stall test" wheather the yoke work correctly in a stall
@Aviationlover100 It was the stick shaker, for stall warning
Perfect!
@Aviationlover100 They were testing the shaker. The yoke shakes as the airplane is about to stall to warn the pilots.
@Aviationlover100 That is a Stall Test.
The Crew must be check the system with a "stall test".
You can really see the flare!
@Aviationlover100 Stick shake test. When in a stall, the yolk begins to shake like that. That was a test to make sure it works properly.
The clip is of Styrian Spirit / Styrian Airways CRJ 200. Unfortunetly the airline wnt bankrupt in 2006.
@Aviationlover100 That's the stick shaker.
@Aviationlover100 - the yoke was suffering from frostbites :) just kiddin, I think it was a stick shaker test

What airline? Nice video!
why that stick shaker was shaking while on the ground?
@Aviationlover100 Testing the stick shaker. It warns of an impending stall.
BTW Styria Airways (Styrian Spirit) ceased operations on 24 March 2006 and filed for bankruptcy after failing to secure fresh financing.

She sounds cute even..
Don't call her accent funny if she doesn't sound "American". How about British people? I'll bet they sound "funny" too. No?
