I admit to watching the real world some as a teen, but nothing ever since, and any but the first season of that, are based on objective reality. I love channels like these that just follow in the life of working. The world would do better to get back to basics. Thanks to these guys for being so great

Living on 73 acres of land in Canada for 6 months now, I have to keep the forest clean of all fallen trees. I learn the trade the hard way, working alone with dozens of widowmakers around me. I try to be extremely safe because I want to see my children grow up and become fine men. I work with cable pullers, winch, etc. Thanks to you, I am here learning important methods, it can save my life. Keep up the good fight, my friends!
This is one of those rare crews that all get along and have a great time. It's usually a tight group of guys that do some sort of hard or tough job, but they MAKE IT fun. Working with a group of guys like this would make you RUN into work every morning! You'd go to bed excited to get up and go to work in the morning! You can tell those laughs are genuine!
Yeah me too. When we used to go out on jobs we would wrap our food in foil place it on the dash for the cooking, but we were in Texas. Great for chili dogs.
Your dashboard cooking brought me back to heating C-Rations on a truck exhaust manifold in the Army. Nice job making sure everyone was recognized at doing a good job at the end of the day.
I am amazed how powerful your mulching machine is. I am only used to seeing the ones used for small garden trees, but to see those massive trunks go through it it amazing!
Excellent Team Work and positive reinforcement, Rare Customer Service that shows Care and Concern, Great Channel, and Great Tree Work Service Company !
I was worried about Kevin and his eagerness to hurry and cut and impress you. You are quick with kind words but don’t let kindness interfere with safety. You are a very good teacher and person!

I love all the positive feedback from the boss man, and the good camaraderie amongst the team. Must be a great workplace. Steady pace, no panicking. Great stuff.
Reminds me of when I worked for a tree service. We trimmed for the power lines, did some removals here and there but we always had the best time. And I miss my dashboard cooking. That's how everyone in our yard cooked their meals unless they got fancy and bought a heat box lol. Man, good times.
Iam so happy that i do this stuff aswell after years dreaming of it. Now i got my own business with tree keeping and so on. I had often bad feeling after i saw that u shred all the big log´s, what a waste, i thought. But after some experience on my own you, where right, sometimes makes no sense bring it to the mill or make firewood. It´s to much time and energy u have to put in. If it fits its fine, if not its fine too. Greetings from Germany! Good Jobs guys !

I'm a retired firefighter , so I realize just how important Brian's job is in the crane. LOL !!!!
19:40 Variation to your dash-heater: wire-wrap a metal container or any canned food in the engine bay / exhaust pipe or that gnarly tree eater engine to cook your happy meal.
I get it if Brian doesn't necessarily want to be filmed, but I think his segments where you actually show him operating the crane are really fascinating. It would be super cool if he could explain exactly how he thinks about operating the crane. Like, does he see it like an extension of himself, or does he consciously think about all the commands he is executing? How does he gauge the pressure he puts on the logs before cuts? Is there an indicator for that in the cockpit? And how does it feel to him when is is operating the crane without a clear line of sight and he has to basically rely on you guys to be his eyes? In fact, how much does he rely on his actual line of sight at all? From the few shots that I got from the cabin of that crane, it seemed like there were an awful lot of displays etc. in there, and a camera at the top of the Boom, looking down the cable would actually make a lot of sense to me I think. Especially since you are a crane crew, this entire part of your line of work really seems like something that doesn't get enough screentime.
If you want good crane know-how, To the Top Crane on here is a good channel. But yes, the clicker you hear is an audible representation of the drum spinning and spooling out/in cable. And there are load indicators for each outrigger and overall weight on the boom.
Scott, I enjoyed the video from your ground perspective instead of on the climb; not that I don't want to see you back at height, but spreading the work did make it a better instructional video. Your "TOOTLELIDGE" is really paying off with your crew. Great job Eastside Tree Works !
Love how informative and safety orientated you and your crew are, however, as a certified crane operator, raising the truck that far off the ground is a huge no-no. You only need to raise it just off the tires. Best wishes and keep the video's coming!
If I ever see your truck, I'll be checking the dashboard for a snack.😜 That gogurt ceasar was jobsite classic. The truck oven technique for lunch!!!!!!I’m a carpenter and spend most my time outside in wet/cold Portland. I can’t recommend enough getting a HOT LOGIC for heating up lunch. Your boy making the final cut needs to learn a little bit of patience. He was obviously trying hard, possibly too hard. Also, tutelage was the correct word in that sentence. Maybe Kevin has something to teach you in return? We all have something to learn from others, and we all have something to teach. That is how we all advance. PS. I would have laughed at tutelage also.
