Other than the shallow typing angle shared by all the Monsgeek boards, the prebuilt seems like an excellent way to introduce family or friends to a solid mech keyboard especially since they're likely familiar with OEM profile on their other keyboards.
I am a Ducky keyboard fan here... I remember Akko started in the industry saying: "we are sister company of Ducky" now Monsgeek is sister of Akko? what the heck! hahaha
The m1 with hand lubed yellow cream pro, akko starry night keycaps, polycarbonate plate, plate foam, swich pad lubed screw in stabs and blue tape mod i just got some days ago is wayy less pingy with force break mod and some blue tape on the brass side to make them stand still
I respect your craft but I do not 100% agree with your takes however, I am really excited for your reviews on audio gear. Those 2 hobbies are really melding with each other yes? More power. Subbed.
I got my keyboard purple variant with akko yellow pros for 5,100 php almost a month ago. It was cheap but the quality of it is so satisfying to type on. any thoughts regarding for the Vgn X68 this would be my work keyboard.
Can you switch it to wireless mode and still use it wired? I see on the manual that it has a macro for switching between wired, 2.4, and BT, but it's not explicitly stated. Hope you can confirm, thanks!
@@ThockyDocKey yeah, that's the impression i got. I'm very interested in alu boards, but the ones in my price range (Akko mod series, Monsgeek M series) have pretty low angle and no adjustable stands, which is a big downside for me as someone who prefers higher angles
does replacing silicon gasket to poron gasket will make it feel softer to type on? i would like to mod my monsgeek m1 to feel softer to type on.. i need help with this. im new in modding a custom keyboard. is there anything would you like to suggest? thanks in advance.

agree! it's a good way to introduce folks into the hobby considering that it works really well out of the box
shallow typing angle is based

way less pingy but also way more effort
@@poppers7317 What a weird way to approach the hobby lol
@@facundosilva2449 aren't lazy people not allowed to enjoy mechanical keyboards?
do you recommend using blue tape instead of the tape that monsgeek included?
@@AbhimanyuDev yes the included tape for me is trash
Ugh just 2 days ago i ordered a cidoo v75. would have loved a black m1w over the cidoo
Thats a good board as well

Hi mate, does the red charging LED ever turn off when plugged in? My keyboards been plugged in for 5 hours and it doesn’t go away lol
mine too
It does when fully charged
Doc any thoughts on the m7w? Do they have the same internals but different layout or do they differ in anyway? Great vid again!
Will try to check this one
weight? thanks btw i got at ₱ 4688,81(domestic version) , on the way

Have not tried it
where u bought it?
how to turn off battery indicator ? when in wired mode ?
it turns off by itself on full charge
Nice
Is top case interchangeable with Akko Mod007?
I got the ISO version and it's awesome :-\
Can you switch it to wireless mode and still use it wired? I see on the manual that it has a macro for switching between wired, 2.4, and BT, but it's not explicitly stated. Hope you can confirm, thanks!
Yes, you can by pressin the macro FN+U
Excluding the price, what do you think is better monsgeek m1w or keychron q1 pro?
m1w. keycaps and switches are way better
@@ThockyDocKey how about other parts like plate (cutouts) and etc. between these 2? Like barebone comparison.
M1W is far better
Im not really a type of person on tinkering keyboards. Is this good enough to use it out of the box?
yessir super good enough
Their wireless 2.4ghz is not reliable, it skips characters when typing due to interference
Any suggestions for a keyboard similar to this one but with adjustable stands?
most alu keyboards will not have adjustable stands
@@ThockyDocKey yeah, that's the impression i got. I'm very interested in alu boards, but the ones in my price range (Akko mod series, Monsgeek M series) have pretty low angle and no adjustable stands, which is a big downside for me as someone who prefers higher angles
using this keyboard for 2month, good p/p but stupid red led on spacebar
same sentiments haha
Isn't it possible to just put a tiny piece of tape over the led?
@@nicoolodion no, light shines through the pcb into a large array
Once fully charge it will be gone
Which switch I should pick with it??
Morandi
Which keyboard do you recommend up to $150
Xvx sk71

probably not
remove the lower case foam and this thing bounces
@@ThockyDocKey i already removed it. It still feels the same. 😥
if u really need a LOT of flex, the akko mod 007 PC is VERY jumpy
Mod007 PC or M1W? I'm okay with wired, and I don't use RGB.
007 pc
@@ThockyDocKey May I know the reason po? Is it because the Mod007 PC has more flex? Or the sound is better out of the box?
mod007pcs sounds better out of the box. just simply love everything about it. but m1w is super good as well@@archeb
This or cidoo v75?
Almost similar. Cidoo is via comp
Can we hear a thocky build on this
will try but monsgeek boards are iherently on th clack-clock sound spectrum
Payday budol haha!
