I like to think the beginning part where the deeper vocals are prominent is Kamina, then when it goes into more high tenor it’s Simon carrying on the song and legacy and idk I make myself emotional thinking of it 😭

The final fight scene has got to be one of the best scenes I've seen to date
Verik which version do you prefer? the one from the series or the movie?
As much as I loved the tribute to Kamina when they formed the ultimate gunmen, I felt I liked the original more, where when they went straight for the final blow in the original gunmen. But both were equally great in their own aspects as the movie showed a bit more action for the fight compared to the original though.
I've gotta say, Team Dai-Gurren is one the best things ever animated, period.
Verik story for just now replying. I forgot about my question. Yeah I love both equally i'd say. I havr things I love more about each version of it, some examoles being Lagann pretty much gaining sentience and throwing Simon for the last bit of distance so Simon could box out the anti-spiral and proceed to use his blood to create a drill for the finishing move, the tribute to Kamina in STTGL, throwing galaxies around to fight, the theme playing during the fight, Row Row Fight The Power playing when rescuing Nina the more action like you mentioned, Lagann piercing the anti-spiral .Those are just a few different things about each i love. For this being better if have to go watch both versions of the final fight again. Some of these may happen in both as its been awhile since I've etched either version

Sofía Nova Ok, so as someone who considers Gurren Laggan their favorite anime, could you please explain a reason for why Yoko is so seemingly pointlessly sexualized, which is especially odd considering how young she is? I want to like the show, but that part of it is just such a big deterrent to me.
I guess it's just as exaggerated and over the top as everything else in the anime. Also, she kind of subverts the useless eye candy trope by having a sizeable impact in most of the important fights. As well as being central to the show's focus on character development throughout the episodes following Kamina's death.
Every time I'm about to sleep you post a new video. Who cares sleep is nowhere near as important as this. Great job as always

There's a lot of versions out there but I think yours, specifically with the changes you made to what you referenced, fits perfectly with the themes of hope and struggle in this song, while also being both poetic and clear in English.

I have never heard this song sung in English, nor never really read the lyrics. I've always associated emotions with the japanese lyrics. But listening to your cover made me break down crying, I played it again and sang with you on the last verse. I really like your cover of this song. Very good vocal delivery. I like how the first verse sounds like it's from Kamina's perspective and the second verse from that of "SEE-mohn". (I looked it up, I know it's supposed to be the Ancient Greek pronunciation, I'm just being petty)
I bought this on iTunes some years ago. I'm not an expert on sound mixing, but the overall mix sounds really low compared to every other song I have on iTunes (now using Music), and I think the mic is peaking or something on the S-sounds, especially in the first verse. I haven't noticed this listening to it again on RUclips.

I have never heard the full English version of this song before, but oh my God, this hurts my heart, but in a good way. Like the line saying that he was following his shadow, and ill sieze my own fate, is amazing, and it captures what Simon goes through perfectly. I love gurren lagann and this opening. The song itself starts out slow. But from that 1:34 mark (especially in this cover) on is amazing. And it remains amazing until the end all these years later. I keep coming back to these amazing people and seeing that I'm not subbed to them yet, forgetting that I created a new account. I feel like a dumbass every time.
