Excellent great watch guys , so I wonder if it is normal for a battery to only last 26,000 Km or less ( because Eve's was replaced a good few Km's ago now ) before replacement would it be the same for the electric cars interesting . Slight bit of range anxiety there Marc and ooooh it was tight their for a bit .😉👌👍
Yeah both time at 1%. I blame it on the weather 😜 yeah as far as I know all the old batteries are being replaced. We’ll find out first hand how the new battery model will do;) like with engines or anything really it’s hard to generally say how long a certain product lasts. All batteries are different I suppose
The old 14.4 kWh batteries in the 2019-2021 bikes like Marc's aren't great on these high power gen 3 Zero's. They start degrading much earlier than they should have. In 2022+ they swapped to a battery that is the same physical size, weighs less, has 2 extra fans, and is now 17.3 kWh capacity, even though it's no larger and weighs less! These new cells are much better. This is is the new style battery Marc has now, they are using them as warranty replacements for these older bikes now. So this new battery should last him a LOT longer than the old one.

Hi. Sorry if this has already been mentioned but it seems your subtitles / CC are always a bit ahead of the audio and I don't think this is something we can resolve on the viewing side.

It shouldn’t since zero percent doesn’t mean the battery is fully drained it only means 0% of what I can use of it. I‘m pretty sure they calculate people draining the battery when they program their bikes👍🏼 I don’t worry about it at all
It's not great for the battery to fully discharge it, or to fully charge it, yes that increases the tension (stress) on the cells/battery. However, what's much, much worse is to LEAVE it in that state of fully charged or fully discharged, which Marc is not doing. He's recharging it ASAP after it gets so low which is important. Another long traveling day. Hope the sandblaster didn't do too much damage on coating and other plastics. Are you really that calm when getting to the very last Watts of energy?
Drafting makes truckers nervous because they can't see you, but they catch a glimpse whenever they change lanes. I drafted a truck in my 2-seater sports car for a couple hours through California's San Joaquin Valley, and the guy tried repeatedly to wipe me off his tail by cutting in closely in front of other trucks. He finally pulled off the highway to get rid of me, but I had saved about 30 gallons of gas from the drafting.
Hi Mark epic ride today. On a differant subject can you tell me what tire inflator your using as it looks nice and compact. All the best and stay safe.

For Eve it's probably just brake pads, but for the Jimny I'd take some spark plugs, air- oil- and fuel filters as well. Maybe coil packs. You never know where you might end up needing them.
I’d say about 2h. It could have been less but we took ages to book accommodation and ferries at the first stop. I reckon it could have been less than 1:30h if I would have planned it better and if I would have plugged her in at the new apartment. but yeah sure filling up gas is much faster 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
@@MarcTravels Have you tested that? You'd want to crank Neutral Regen up to 100% in the app on your custom riding mode for sure, if you try it. That said, I'm not sure it will work. You should test it sometime maybe with a tow strap to know for sure?
Hey guys. If you ever thunks "why are we doing this?" You gave the answar,,,, "the world is a muuch better place than you see and hear on television" Now we know, thanks to you and it's so important that somebody tells us. Take care
That sandstorm reminded me of New Mexico southwest desert area in 1950s. Some drivers who dared drive through a major sandstorm discovered the paint was sandblasted off the front of their car, and the windshield and headlights would be scratched so bad they had to be replaced. You also may want to consider replacing or use an air hose to clean Jimny's air filter after that sandstorm.
Being in the suction of a truck saves fuel, but there is a danger in this practice. Riding behind a truck saves fuel because you take advantage of its suction. Facing a very reduced wind, the motorist can thus save fuel, but thus puts himself in danger due to lack of visibility. Behind a car, the gain is negligible. Behind a truck, at a safe distance, the gain is roughly 5 to 10%. At a closer distance, it can go up to 20%... or even 30% if you put yourself in a dangerous situation, where the slightest brake on the truck can become dangerous.
Be careful driving close behind a semi…. You don’t see what is on the road, remember you always have to have a line of sight with a motor bike to see what is happening and to have an escape route in case something happens…
Nice but not for mee, I would have stress levels that are way too high. Very good you can stay cool, I would take a small generator with me in the Jimny you will never know …. Tut tut
Yeah many tell me about the generator but that might give me a few extra miles but honestly I can just hang on to the jimny or any car for that matter to get me out of a pickle to the next plug. I really don’t see the need for a generator 🫣
@@MarcTravels I think a petrol generator would defeat the purpose of going electric and also give the haters another reason to say it's not possible. At most a battery bank variant like the jackery or similar. Either method would be a slow charge. And you're leaving Africa now anyway and heading back to the land of more chargers
Tailgating a truck is dangerous mate. If there's something in the middle of the road you won't see it until you hit it. It's not worth doing it to "save" power Marc.

I have a spare belt for eve 👍🏼
What mobile phone mount do you use?
Hi folks hope ur both good , 504 kms is great can I ask what the charge time was for the 3 charging stops combined ? 👍
I think it was about 2h 🤙🏼
Hi Marc. You mentioned at the end you had to replace the battery/s once. Is this expensive?
It was covered under warranty 👍🏼
@@MarcTravels Thats fantastic. Greetings from Australia, following with interest.. all the best mate
@@bat6225 great 😊 can’t wait to get to Australia 🇦🇺
Hi ! Can the Jimny tow the bike to recharge it ? In a sort of engine breaking mode ?
Yeah I think so. I can just hang on to the car and the regen will do the rest. It’s always on👍🏼
@@MarcTravels Maybe a backup solution to gain a few km of range :) Just in case :D
@@instandr7792 i honestly don’t think that is necessary to carry around
@@MarcTravels no, clearly not :)
I wonder if the guy that wanted to sit on your bike was planning on stealing it!
No he wanted a photo with it 🤙🏼
Just for interest, how much time did you spend charging that day? Really enjoy the videos of your adventures
@@MarcTravels Really interesting thanks. I thought you would have taken much longer to charge
What about a small generator like a portable Honda in the Jimmy. Then in emergency Jimmy could charge Eve using Honda.
I can charge while just hanging on to the car in case of emergency 🤗
With a generator using the same fuel as the support vehicle, then always have generator fuel (siphon).
Yeah, get one of those magnetic chargers on Jimmy like phones have.
@@MarcTravels Have you tested that? You'd want to crank Neutral Regen up to 100% in the app on your custom riding mode for sure, if you try it. That said, I'm not sure it will work. You should test it sometime maybe with a tow strap to know for sure?
@@Protonus I can’t see a reason it wouldn’t work…we’ll find out maybe one day 🙌🏼
don´t forget to clean the AIR filter on the CAR
Will do 🤗
Hey guys. If you ever thunks "why are we doing this?"
You gave the answar,,,, "the world is a muuch better place than you see and hear on television"
Now we know, thanks to you and it's so important that somebody tells us.
Take care
Haven’t seen or heard news in 3 months. Feels great 😊
@@MarcTravels you hav'ent miss anything, they still tell us tjat the world is mean and horrible
Did you feel any issue with the belt when riding the sandstorm?
No could feel anything. Something specific?
@@MarcTravels no, I was just wondering since the belt is the weakest point
@@SwitzeroRider so far so good! I haven’t touched it since we left👍🏼
Hi Marc
what is your average speed
80kph maybe
That sandstorm reminded me of New Mexico southwest desert area in 1950s. Some drivers who dared drive through a major sandstorm discovered the paint was sandblasted off the front of their car, and the windshield and headlights would be scratched so bad they had to be replaced. You also may want to consider replacing or use an air hose to clean Jimny's air filter after that sandstorm.
Yes will have a look into that. Thanks mate 🤗👍🏼
Clean the airfilter on the car after the storm :-)
Yeah will do 🤗
hi, dont forget to clean your air filter 😆
Haha 😂😜
Wind sucks, sandy roads suck and windy sand storms really SUCK. AS IF YOU DON'T ALREADY KNOW! TAKE CARE AND BE SAFE.
Thanks 😊
Yeah, charge is started! But 1% is very very extremely!
Worked out fine 🤗
Filters, filters, filters. Keep um clean!!
Luckily I don’t have one but I will look after Maree’s car 👍🏼
im getting my motorcycle driving license in Berlin. Im scared so much. There are so many cone tests . HELPPPP !!
you'll be alright mate 🤙🏼
@@MarcTravels Thanks man
Check the cars air filter after driving in sand storms.
Will do 🤙🏼
Why didn’t you give to take a ride, he is such a cool guy. You’re so selfish hahaha 😎🤣🤣🤣
Haha man he just jumped on the bike almost laid her down, I did not expect him to do that 🤣
Being in the suction of a truck saves fuel, but there is a danger in this practice.
Yeah I never go too close, trying to keep it safe still 🤗
Funny boy
Be careful driving close behind a semi…. You don’t see what is on the road, remember you always have to have a line of sight with a motor bike to see what is happening and to have an escape route in case something happens…
True, I will be careful 🤗
Also, if you can't see the trucks mirrors the driver can't see you and might not know you are there.
People are better than their leadership
People are amazing here ❤️
lol, only way my girlfriend is more mad than when she’s hangry is if I mention that she’s hangry.
I feel you mate 🫣
Maree is sad or this is just my impression?
In your electric bike ownership how often do you find petrol /diesel cars parked blocking your charging points... And how annoying is it? 😠.... Harry
Not so often. It doesn’t really bother me cause I can reach them anyhow…it would be annoying for car owners for sure
@@MarcTravels cheers for reply, yes I can imagine for cars it would be annoying... You cut the charging very close this time. Only 1% 😬🙂
@@SCALE_SLOTCARS_AND_RC yeah x2 🫣
Tailgating a truck is dangerous mate. If there's something in the middle of the road you won't see it until you hit it. It's not worth doing it to "save" power Marc.
It’s okay I think 👍🏼
You highlight how much I really don't want an electric bike
That’s cool. I love it and have a much higher range compared to my previous motorcycle 🤗 thanks for tuning in 🤙🏼
@Marc Travels still enjoy your channel but I preferred the dominator days 😀
@@midlifeadventures77 i hear that a lot and yeah all my troubles were very interesting for people but my life is so much easier now with the electric motorcycle, you have no idea how much I enjoy it. That being said, I still have the Honda and I do wanna bring her over to New Zealand as well if you know what that means🙌🏼
@Marc Travels awesome. Yeah I'd love to see the Dom back. Keep it real dude 🤙
When in doubt, go faster
Haha great 🙌🏼😅
You've really got to be a people person.
it was not a good idea😒🤔🤔
What wasn’t?
i mean driving in a sandstorm😮
@@andrisa2971 i mean we thought it was over 😅
all the best👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Bro, at the start of the video you were self-flagellating for the income disparity between continents like that would somehow be your personal fault, then you were happy to charge for free. Can you make up your mind?
Yeah I’m totally cool with getting a free charge from one of the biggest international oil companies in the world 👍🏼
stay 80 behind a truck on the highway I prefer not to have a motorcycle in this case
There are big touring Motorcycles with fairings and windshields that are better for going fast on highway…no problem 🤗 have a look into it if you like mate, there’s so many brands and types if you’re looking for a motorcycle 🙌🏼🏍️
Hypermiling on a EV bike!
I once did 500miles coming back from the uk 🇬🇧 🤙🏼
what have you used to make your insta go2 black, is it effecting on its temprature too?
Just a marker and I can’t notice a difference 🤙🏼
