Hey guys! I just released an updated (and a little more advanced) video on how to make a stinger transition to take advantage of the new Track Matte feature in OBS: ruclips.net/video/wCovjpmRbTE/видео.html 👍
Hmmmm

There is a bit of a problem with some of your steps. Your directions to add multiple colors causes the shapes to jitter between moving into the frame, pausing for a brief second and then moving back out. In between that pause moment you designated when I try to duplicate it by having the second color be slightly behind, it causes a bit of a jittery stop in between that pause section on the key frame. For some reason selectingboth key frame snad moving them slight behind each other causes a weird jitter. Not sure why it's causing it. The section of the tutorial i have issues with is from time stamp 12:40 to 13:45.
You are amazing. What a beautiful presented, crafted and edited tutorial. So helpful. Please continue the great work!

This is a wonderful beginners after effects tutorial! I wish I had something like this when I was starting to make things in AE, since so many of the things discussed in this video can be applied to other things you wanna do, not just in streaming, like logos, animations, and other video graphics! Great tutorial!
Just wanted to say thanks so much for this video. I struggle to process information quickly and usually have to watch things back a million times to understand something but you guided me through step by step in a very clear, concise and logical format. I'm also really excited to make my own stingers, as I love the DIY aspect of streaming, so thank you! :)
Imagine I spent an hour and a half doing this and it crashed
Imagine saving it

I started here 10 months ago. I've built on my stinger transition since then, and now I've come back to grab this tutorial for a friend. Just wanted to say thank you for getting me started with all this!
The fact that you covered every aspect so neatly is perfection
What a flawless tutorial. I'm fairly new to the streaming/ gaming community and I've been in awe over most popular streamers scene transitions. I honestly didnt think that sort of things would be in my cards since it looks insanely difficult. Almost to the point that I figured you'd have to hire an editor to accomplish these visuals.
Your video just gave me so much confidence that I can achieve this. Thanks again for the flawless tutorial! I'm really looking forward to adding a stinger to my stream!
littler completely the same, i used this legend and it helped me massively

amazing only 9 minutes in and i know i’m going to love the results when i try this
Awesome Video, im one of the many people that begged you for a tutorial like this, and am so grateful. This is gonna improve my stream Quality Immensly
Just used this tutorial to create my first Stinger Transition. With no AE experience, I managed to get it done in just under an hour. Thanks a ton!
I've been a designer for a long time but never fiddled with video software very much. As a new streamer, this was a super helpful, easy, and really informative way for me to get started. I already know my way around the Adobe Suite, but this just helps clinch it all together! Thanks so much man.
This was a great tutorial my guy. Well explained and nice and simple. Looking forward to playing around with this. Thank you for the video.
T H A N K Y O U, you are such a great tutor and editor. a year later and your still helping people. Just know that.
This is a perfect tutorial. Every single step is perfectly clear, and I was able to recreate what you did without having ever used after effects before. Thank you!
Bro, thank you soooo much, this is my favourite tutorial, calm, clean, good quality, no every millisecond swearing.. KEEPP UPP TYSM!!
Thankyou so much for this! Can't wait to start using such cool transitions in my stream. Perfect tutorial, got a sub from me :D
This channel is a goldmine for streamers and video editors! This channel should have 1m subs. Thanks for the video.
Not 1m, 10m.
This is an absolutely awesome tutorial. I have zero After Effects knowledge, but was able to do this simply by following the video. You obviously do very well already, but deserve feedback like this for how well this is created. Thanks very much!
I really want to appreciate how calming and peaceful your voice and atmosphere is!!! :)
Dude, you're the best! I've finally managed to do it for my streams and it looks DOPE!
Thank you so much, keep up the amazing work! 🔥

@@kroberts88kr no problem! :)
When I make a new composition, it's not transparent, mine is a solid color. What's weird is that yours says the BG is black but came up as transparent.
EDIT: Fixed it! If you have this issue, go below the preview windows, you'll see a scroll bar that says (Full) by default, move over to the right and click the checkerboard box that says "Enable Transparent Grid". It's already transparent, it just doesn't show it as a transparent layer.
Thanks mate
thank you so much lol
thanks
where is the preview windows
@@unsznd8943 this explaination is a little ambiguous and there is actually something called "preview window." He is actually referring to the actual area where you are working, the main visual representation of the project which is the "composition window." The checkered item is at the bottom of this, just above the timeline window. If you go to 'window' on the top of the the screen, choose 'composition ______,' which will be the name of your composition, the window will disappear, choose the same thing again and it will appear. It is THAT window.
Amazing guide, thank you!
Incredible video, no other words for it!
Your videos are so dope man every time you upload I watch the full thing! They really do help so much
*Very nice!* As someone who's never used this program before it was a bit rough getting it going but after your video I've got an awesome stinger! :) I added an extra rectangle to give it a bit more color but I can't wait to use my new stinger on my streams! Thanks for the help my man! :)

me: really happy with what i just did :)
Awesome tutorial! Really well put together, I have one question though I'm getting these white lined borders in AE and on my exported file and I'm not sure how to remove them. Any info would be greatly appreciated! :)
im wondering too
I'm very late to this, but remember when you change the fill color of the rectangle? Right next to that is another box labeled "Stroke" you should see a default settings of 2px right next to that box, change it to 0px and the white lines will be gone.
This will come to handy. Thank you.
This came out nicely. Thank you!

If you got to the very end in OBS and its still not transparent, make sure you check the box "Include Alpha Channel" as mentioned at 22:04
Good catch! I had this! :D
i checked it out and its still not working. any thoughts on why it may be like that?
That was amazingly helpful. I have never used after effects before and the way you explained everything made making this super easy. Works like a charm, thankyou so much :)
Ty for all!
Taking advantage of the 7 free day trial... what else can I do for my stream in after effects?

ooh another thing i wanted to find out was how could i create a custom logo as i am not the best at drawing or designing things physically
Make it yourself. Branding is better if done unique
Doc I said I am not the best at designing physically and your tell me to make it myself?
@@naughtykid000 yeah pretty much? I mean or helps the overall brand and saves money and you can make it look like you and feel like you want it, but if you don't want to do it yourself and spend some time just go to fiver
If you still need it, Adobe Animator is a nice program for designing stuff
hire an artist or commission a drawing/ logo from an artists on instagram or twitter
Came out great, so thank you!
Incredibly made video!
Thanks dude - really clear steps all the way through
When I export the video the transparency is gone from the background and is replaced with a black box. I have the export to RGB + Alpha and it is transparent in the background. Any fixes?
Hey, have you figured out how to fix this
also wondering how to fix
just watch the video till the end. It was happening with me a lot of times but after downloading webm and following the steps, it solved
I know this is a year later but in the video when exporting he uses the Format as WebM which will give you those options he has when rendering which is the one where it says “include alpha cahnnels” which will make the stinger transparent. I tried using another format to export like quicktime player since I am on Mac and it wouldn’t let me use RGB+Alpha to make it transparent unless I am making an animated face cam that I made in photoshop. Hope this helped you guys and the link to get the WebM format is in his description.
Edit: Also if you render it straight from after effects instead of AME you should try changing your Output Module in the render cue to a format that will let you change your video output setting of channel from RGB to RGB+Alpha that way it comes out transparent after it renders
someone help? When I import into OBS it shows up black even though it is transparent in the export..
Bryce Fimreite go to TyBrown's comment, it’s near the top. idk how to do this

How can I make my background transparent, when I click ok it takes me to a black screen.

So after making the composition you wanna find the little bar under the composition and look for the box with checkerboards on it then click it!
@@Rowan.24 thank you sir
@@waterslug4263 No problem I bet your stinger transition will look great! 😃

Thanks a lot dude, awesome tutorial help me so much!
OUTSTANDING tutorial!! Many thanks, Gaming Careers!
for me the stinger isn't transparent. it just shows a black screen and then the stinger appears behind a black screen.
export it as a quick time and make it 8-bit alpha
Click Toggle Transparency Grid my friend then the checkerboard screen will appear
Has this worked?
Anyone else got a bug where after importing into OBS it starts lagging like hell?
Yes! Have you got a fix yet?
@@anthonyhughes7574 not really, just need a higher spec computer :p
I got a fix for this, I exported as QuickTime with rgb + alpha and it works great - apparently if you use the webm codec then OBS has to decode which adds to CPU processing
@@anthonyhughes7574 are you able to explain this step by step, or a more simpler version? I got confused a bit, what should I export?
Quality tutorial, thank you very much!
