I tend to tan very dark in the summer (or the months before school lets out), and I also have the dark, curly, and thick hair, as well as the dark eyes. I'd always be sad and talk to my mom, but she'd tell me that while she understands why I'm sad (not the fact that they'd call me Mexican, but just the fact that they were calling me names period), Mexican women are very beautiful and strong-willed, and should be taken as a compliment!
