      This is why a lot of my fellow filipinos are not really aware of other boxers, just Pacquiao. We should support everyone in the boxing industry especially our own. Not just that, in order to dominate we shouldn't just focus on basketball,dancing, modelling and singing. Everyone should focus on their own passion and more specifically on sports in order to dominate. We can do it if we wanted to, Billiards yes we have the greatest of all time in the world that everyone is respecting in that sport, Bowling yes we have the greatest of all time that his records would probably never be beaten in the next 100-200 years, ESPORTS yes we're great and yes boxing we all know that but we need more players and unbiased supporters in that platform.
      But soccer? Swimming? BMX? Skateboard? Diving? Baseball and other famous sports? We are unknown. Schools, the media, celebrities and parents should encourage kids to do more sports rather than being laid-back. We have a lot of great singers, the competition standard here is very high, very few gets to be chosen, the same with pageantry, it's just a lot. We need to focus on other platforms and support them all.

      Philippines is now the 12th most safest country in the world according to gallup index 2020. So we don't need Pacquiao anymore to do that, we need to support others as well not just him.

    Having Floyd Sr. in your corner doesn't guarantee you a Mayweather fight, Oscar. I don't know what he was thinking

    • @Mrbananaice17
      @Mrbananaice17 3 года назад +11

      When he was saying, “I’ll guarantee I’ll get him”, he was saying he would win the fight with Floyd Sr in his corner. When he first fought Floyd, he had to hire Freddy Roach. Oscar always preferred Floyd Sr as his trainer and liked his coaching. When he made these comments he was just trying to trash talk to build up hype and I think it scared Floyd away because he retired to dodge the fight and then came out of retirement lmao.

    • @el34glo59
      @el34glo59 3 года назад

      What are you even talking about? DLH already trained with Sr., and already fought Floyd. Getting Sr had nothing to do with it getting the fight. He meant it would push him over the edge with insane knowledge. Floyd retired and avoided the rematch. Plain and simple. Which he loves doing.

    Manny stands as the most unconventional fighter i have ever seen; unconventional but effective in everything he does. He’s a paradox, more than a handful of fighters have gotten into the ring with him and said afterwards, “he’s one thing on paper, he’s something else in the ring.”

    I was visiting the Philippines during this fight to see some friends. The streets were completely empty, I was literally the only one on the road and the fight had not even started yet. I was absolutely shocked cause its usually bumper to bumper traffic in Alabang. My uncle said that's normal whenever Pac fights.

    At 19:07, one of MP’s people asks him to kneel down/pray at the post (his usual “celebration”). He probably forgot. I just thought it was interesting to see.

    This was the most exciting time in boxing for my gen, nothing has come close since the cotto, Hatton, Pacquiao, Mayweather, Mosley and de la hoya era, it was really something. Even the lower tier champs like zab, Williams, Arturo, kostya, Chop chop, margarito and martinez were boxers I'd have gladly pulled an all nighter to watch. Things just aren't the same these days.
