@@shindavid6484 He hadn’t made welterweight in years. It’d be like Pacquiao trying to make 135 at his age. And even worse, his body was rejecting fluids so he couldn’t even properly rehydrate. When fighters cut to say 147 pounds, its grueling yes but there’s a time period when you’re able to rehydrate and refuel, so when you’re in the ring you’re 160-165 pounds. Oscar was the same weight as he was at the weigh ins. It was so bad that his team was trying to rehydrate him with IVs an hour before the fight. Roach even said he saw Oscar had IV marks on his arm.
@@shindavid6484 bro when fighters get old they move up in wieght, not go down. it was a great win for manny but stop lying to yourself by saying that was an alright version of oscar fighting that night cause it clearly wasnt
Great video I learned some things I did not know clearly.
excited for the video! hope it turns out good! (it probably will)
GREAT CONTENT man ! please please make moreeee
Just ordered Door Dash this one is going to be good
New sub... your videos are awesome..keep up the great content ...straight to the point, no hassle 🙏🏿💪🏿
Dope content amigo!
Always look forward to your videos keep doing your thing. I was wondering if you could do a video on championship belts won by KO. It could be called and the new... Or a vid on hyped up matchups that didn’t deliver ex: mayweath vs Pac-Man and the likes.
Classic fight. Most thought manny would be killed by Oscar. And the fight was a disgraceful mismatch. How wrong everyone was.
Thanks Hancho for another High Quality Content to enjoy!!!
Wow, Oscar had a great camp/team behind him for support. It reminded me of Chávez Jr. when he was in camp for Álvarez. He looked sooo great and he actually made me believe until he disappointed on fight night.
Dropped to much weight
Yo, absolutely love all the content you put out and all the work you put in; may I make a humble request? Instead of blurring the still shots of the fight could you just leave them visible please?
After the fight manny told oscar "you are still my idol". 🙌🏼🇵🇭
Then Oscar memorably said “now you are mine.”
Great video Hancho
This fight back in 08 got me hooked on Pacquiao.
This fight propels Manny to global stardom.
Can't wait for Part 2! Fantastic video
Hit that like button folks. This guys for the ppl
Thank you for the awesome content hancho

Mayweather always using retirement for escaping and then comeback when he see new prospect🤣
👌😂😂
what a chicken
True mi amigo, esp when people pressuring him to fight a tough opponent. When he sees the storm is gone (e.g. prime Margarito vs cotto already faced each other) time to comeback. These two has soften up each other lol
Definitely! What a coward
Yeah, you got it bro.. That's what he did
Respect to both of em and thank you for this video it's amazing.
11:25 HATTON KO PUNCH
if that connects to the jaw that night could have been OVER!
9:44 "unfortunately I cannot identify this track" 😂 love you man
Well that explains why Floyd wasn't training Oscar in the Pacquiao fight 👍.
fantastic content as always mate
if i'm not mistaken, the fight was contracted at 147 lbs. it was Oscar who cut too much weight too early in camp and came in too light at 145
Fight was at a cw of 145
@@12brutalrounds87 nope. it was at 147. ODLH was coming down 7 lbs. from 154, Pac was going up 12 lbs. from 135. Oscar weighed 150 in his previous fight against Forbes. www.boxingscene.com/de-la-hoya-vs-pacquiao-3-million-dollar-penalty-place--15647
Please make more of these videos
I remember this time. So much excitement around it all. Saw Pacquiao winning regardless of the odds. This may have been Pacquiao’s best showing.
When’s part two coming out?!?!
Lol.
Great job on the video. Thank you.
You rarely hear anyone talk about Oscar being naturally left handed and how that affected his style and fights
That's why oscar had a very good jab and left hook but his right hand was a pillow.
@@clownindan agreed alotta people never realized he was all front hand. I often wonder if he woulda as good or better if he stood southpaw
@@teddybblazin5628 would be interesting to see considering his jab was his best weapon. He might of been able to really hurt people with a straight left from the southpaw stance though. Either way he won a ton with that jab and left hook
Great job as always.
Anytime manny fought, us Mexicans were there for the support. Even when he fought our fighters, we showed that respect bc that man is humble
Puto pacquiao
Speak for yourself.
I watched him to lose. Filipino community around where I lived was disrespectful as hell. Watching Marquez put him to sleep was vindication after he got cheated in the other fights. Watching them cry and still be salty about that till this day fills my heart with so much schadenfreude.
@@BoboKaKaseEh are u margarita fan
this channel has gotten so good.
if i had a wish it would be a prelude to AJ vs Fury, beginning with Lewis beating Vitali and retiring the lineal champ.
Your thoughts on de la hoya vs valero's sparring in training camp
New hancho? Subscribed
I just wanted to confirm so did this fight in fact have a catchweight of 145 that was referenced in the video?
The 145 pound catchweight was for Manny's fight against Miguel Cotto.
@@irvinmorales1409 Yes that is correct, however, at the 7:43 mark of the video, Hancho mentions that “Oscar has a little less than two weeks to trim down to the catchweight of 145 lbs.” having written about this fight and doing some research online I can’t find anything stating that the fight (Pac-DLH) had a 145 catchweight
@@mr.franco7259
I can't find anything about this fight having a catchweight either.
Great video man. Keep up the good work. Being a Filipino American, I have a lot of pride in Pacman
Mayweather: beat guys on paper
Manny: Retired guys in the ring
De La Hoya, Hatton, Bradley, Matthysse...
Sounds good but TBE beat manny convincingly.
@@TheLeaderOfAuthenticity not really. it’s highly debated even to date. no way you watch that fight and say may won that convincingly. if so that is his most lackluster victory ever. him beating canelo was convincingly
@@VitruvianVictor debated by who bro. TBE won that fight convincingly. To the point to where Pacman had to pull the injury excuse
@@VitruvianVictor facts bro, well said. I'm a black man but hell yeah the fight was debatable. Floyd vs canelo.. my dawg floyd convincingly wono over canelo no doubt.
Fantastic video and analysis 📹😍💖
Ah yes, a good way to start my Wednesday
An excellent content! Great Work!
Oscar definitely looked shot, but we have to give Manny credit for dominating him. Great video Honcho as usual. Mad props
Great video! Thanks!
Perfect fight from Pacquiao. His defense was on point.
This is easily my fav series on RUclips
Oscar’s walk out song is called “El Gallo de Oro” @9:45 . It is interpreted by a mariachi that I don’t know the name of. I couldn’t find Oscars version on Spotify or RUclips. So they might be a well known group. I did find a version from Ana Gabriel though. Hope that helps. Great video as always Hancho!👌🏼
