What's good kings and queens, I hope everyone is doing alright. The build up to this fight has not really been discussed at all in detail especially since a commission overturned a lifetime ban on a fighter which is a very serious thing to just be overturned just like that . Hopefully this video brings some clarity as to why .

When the Nery news broke out , I gave the benefit of the doubt because that is an A sample. There's a logical reason why that can be found in ones system. However once that B sample came back he indeed infact took that in it's purest form for performance purposes and not a cross contamination from food or supplements. My opinion changed . Ryan sample from what I heard just now is an A sample. He pleads his case where that may have came from and we must wait til the B sample . B sample will prove it's from contamination or he took it in pure form.@@Ze_Moose

I just wanted to comment about the camera culture in Japan around these fighters, it oozes respect. At around 7:30 minutes when Shinsuke Yamanaka says it will be his last fight the camera flashes aren’t rapid like paparazzi, they respect his moment to retire and wait to shoot. It just feels like everyone in the room understood what they were witnessing

Thanks for telling the WHOLE back story. Yamanaka, Japanese fight fans, and the JBC still being willfully ignored. Even Nery admitted Yamanaka had him in fits under his poker face yet pundits who should know better continue to overlook and downplay the great skill set Yamanaka had and his accomplishments and legacy he left behind for Japanese boxing.
I hope Inoue can put up the kind of performance at the grand venue that will define the full arrival of Japanese boxing on the global stage in a most comprehensive, dignified and classy manner

@@Ze_Moosehasn’t been proven yet until the B samples are tested and the particle ratio is evaluated. Carlo was cleared with his b samples because has a clubentrol to blood ratio of 1 to 100,000,000. Nery eas banned because his was a much higher ratio, indicating excessive use. So again, nothings been proven. Stop trying to save Devin Haneys reputation.😂

This great channel made me aware of the Nery situation on one of the older videos a while back, and as soon as I saw this fight made, I was instantly looking forward to it, wondering if Inoe will steamroller the guy or systematically break him down and punish him
After watching this, this became a rare occasion where I don't want to see the underdog win.
Bruh I’m in the same boat. Inoue is my favorite active fighter but I always root for the underdog. Not this time.

I didn’t even know this story before the fight, I just remember one of the commentators saying something about Nery being the villain. I couldn’t imagine how gut wrenching it must have been to see Nery knock down Inoue in that first round thinking he may lose the fight.

Idk if you've fought before but you could tell if a couple pounds made a difference or not. Some people are sore loser in the case if the Japanese guy in this video he said it wasn't because of the weight.

I’ve been fighting as a amateur and to be honest I can’t tell the difference in 1 pound
From about 3 pounds I can pretty much tell the effect of weight difference
But it is not the same case in pro boxing
Pro boxers are strictly cutting their weight to the limit and in the process they might get too dehydrated just because of that 1 pound which likely effect the performance of the fight date
And also it’s not about the outcome
It is about the process
You can’t be innocent even if the guy you hit with car have no damage
You are still criminal for it
@@iga-san3522 yea the dehydration plays a bigger factor than weight as long as it's not a drastic difference in my opinion. I weigh 180 so if I spar someone who fights at 160 and someone my weight I don't feel a drastic difference even if it's there. It is true that it's not about the result only if he is held accountable.
Wow I had no ideas there was this much history on this fight. In the US the common thought process was Nery is just another stepping stone for Inoue. I’m definitely tuning in now!

The new super star Hayato Tsutsumi which been considered to be the next naoya inoue by a lot of japan media, misses weight in his fifth fight, got banned for 6 months and numerous backlash from japanese community, and he can't just book a fight 7 months later and fight soon his ban got lifted, he can't contact or negotiate with any other boxer within these 6 months.

Watanabe is alleged to have had ties to the yakuza. And he also had various other crime charges so it kinda makes sense compared to missing weight. Great video either way.
Did the time in 98 and another scandal in the early 2000s. JBC banished him in 07. It's 2024 now , they going to hold his Yakuza ties with him for life and not what he did in the ring? Hell all the crazy things Tyson did almost ruining the sport after the Holyfield rematch and numerous out of the ring offenses . Time past , he wised up and he was brought back with open arms in the boxing world. Completely understandable if Jiro was a monster like Carlos Baldomir, then he should be banished for life. But thats not the case.

So we got the good ending. Not only did Inoue brutally "avenge" Yamanaka, but Nery recovered much of his reputation by coming in clean, on weight and fighting really well.
5:00 that’s not unusual. There’s never been any confirmed reports to my knowledge in public reports of the finding being available BEFORE the bout. Firstly, this would be moronic simply for the purposes of insurance and culpability when simply all you have to do is wait to analyze if you want to think cynically . Plausible deniability is rock solid and you still have the opportunity push ahead with the fight if you complete the report after while still allowing for the B sample tested. What IS odd is to my knowledge and from The Ring/ Dan RAf reporting on dates, that pre fight test was VERY early. All things considered.
Also strangely, false reports went around including even The Ring who never fixed their error saying his B sample was tested. They reported “their sources” confirmed but the WBC confirmed Nery never requested it and his tainted meat excuse was valid. This is the same headline I bet from what you show at 5:30. By all available accounts and from the lack of nuance given from “source” from Ring, one must proceed understanding the B sample as specifically confirmed by the WBC board of governors was never tested. The Ring magazine is the ONLY source for the B sample line whenever it’s cited. And I mean the only one. But it’s never stated the affiliation of the source which journalistically makes it impossible to accept - which is important to this overall story.
Kinda makes sense why they wouldn’t test. Which is exactly why it’s illogical to atleast imo assume they had the test result before the fight, somehow leak it, but then also never tested the b sample. And if they did, there’s no way it wouldn’t leak. If they can find a way to not test a b sample of a new champion with an obvious adverse for a totally illegal substance, pretty sure they can handle relying on free bonafide plausible deniability to wait to report Nery instead of risk a leak. It’s the same stuff R Garcia is about to go through . Eager to see if the B sample disappears. In this case, I bet you that vial is found IMMEDIATELY. Makes you wonder now is there any specific masking agent that makes you hold water etc etc.
Ultimately and I’m sure you’ll get to it, given the fact that the WBC was behaving in a way that was suspicious at best (hence the point of not even testing the B mattered which is wayyy worse imo than a confirmed B fail) and him just being overweight and good lord the celebration, Naoya has been seemingly tasked with a mission from Japan herself given the fight to have it on Japanese soil, to commence a long, drawn out, mission of payback worse than even Cotto’s revenge on Antonio. As much as I normally love seeing a banana skin, I won’t mind if the boxing gods allow push a revenge plot. Especially if Nery comes in overweight. Bc I bet my channel he will.

Nery is a good boxer but not at the level of Inoue.

Nery will make the (ego) mistake to try and dictate the pace not realizing that Naoya is setting him up... a harrowing painful experience for Nery but it will be quick!

KO'd by Brandon Figueroa in 7 rounds, Draw against Carlos Castro, beats David Carmona (who at the time lost 4 of his previous 5 fights), stops Azat Hovhannisyan (who lost to the only 2 good fighters he faced), then defeats Froilan Saludar (who got KO'd in his only other fight for the world title and lost 3 of his prior 5 fights before facing Nery) and yet somehow this justifies his getting a title shot against Inoue? The Monster will chew him up and spit him out with ease.

I’m not saying Nery is going to win but I think people are underestimating him. Nery does have the style to complicate things for Inoue. Nery has been in weight for over a week and keeps telling everyone in interviews he is ready for Inoue. Nery has decent speed but I believe he knows he won’t be able to match Inoue’s speed. What Nery does have is good timing and skill. A decent punch and knows when to counter. But probably the best assets are he know how to use angles and he is patient. Nery knows he has to weather the early storm. An old Donaire used that very style to almost upset Inoue.
