I’m so stoked for this. I love winter in racing games, and it’s been a while since DIRT RALLY on PSVR1. Awesome job on the race! Also, if you have too much power, simply keep it in a higher gear for smoother acceleration. At least that’s helpful IRL.

@@kevtotha - DIRT RALLY was blurry, but in a weirdly forgivable way. The sense of presence and fun (and challenge) of the courses was top tier. I don’t know if that VR dlc is still available through the PS Store anymore, though… I think you might have to hunt down a rare physical copy that included it. A real shame, because there’s nothing else like it - especially the various snowy areas. Driving through snow-drifted roads with falling snow catching in the headlights at night and confusing your vision the same as IRL was easily as immersive as anything I’ve yet experienced in GT7 (although obviously not as clear). It was woefully under-recognized on PSVR1. The multiplayer racing never grabbed me, because those circuits were so small… but the gigantic one-way drives (with your AI partner calling out the turns in the passenger seat) were amazing. It also took me some time to tweak the G29 inputs (DIRT RALLY had unreal depth in the settings for this), but once I did - fucking amazing. Even the simple blurry faced spectators standing by the side of the road felt somehow like real people who came out to enjoy the spectacle. If by some miracle that game were to ever get PSVR2 support - holy hell jump on it. I don’t expect it will, but that game should have been legendary to the VR world. I’m still needing to hop into this dlc… my game room’s full of home improvement crap atm and I cannot access the G29. 😅 Something to reward me for finishing up drywalling an adjoining room. 😉
I actually have driven on the snow when I had my Audi s4. Seems pretty comparable to be honest. But compared to the cars I drove in game the audi was more fwd biased and nose heavy so the washout was a lot worse irl.
If you have the extra money, absolutely worth it. But with anything, the novelty does wear off eventually. But I will say, I do not play gt7 in anything but vr now because it's just so much better (imo) and immersive.
