I'm thinking of editing that video first in case you want to do just one of the mods. What's the point of opening up the headlights if you don't know how to put them back together, right? Its actually fairly easy, I've successfully rebaked them (so the butyl can heat up and seal) without adding more butyl, and just squeezed them back together. Pretty much only works the first time. The right Procedure is to remove all the old butyl and insert new ones
I've looked at a few videos about spray painting trim pieces and they seem to sand the desired piece down first. What process did you use to spraypaint your chrome strips here?
I'm running LED turn signals and they were definitely noticeable. Not sure about regular bulbs. That orange piece essentially diffuses light, same as the white diffuser I use in this project
It's not JDM by any means. 07-08 headlights are also different with the base model and TypeS. Look slightly different and take different turn signal bulbs
I used the basic rustoleum Black paint, same as this one.. amzn.to/3m4d0To I lightly sanded it down so the paint has something to bite on to. A high grit, probably 1500
Is it better to clean the headlight lense once it’s all back together or when it’s separated from the headlight housing? Plus where did you get the butyl to put the headlight housing and lense back together?
@@thecarfiend11 when taking off the old butyl, we’re you able to peel it all off when you separated the lense from the headlight assembly or did you have to put it back in the oven again to peel the leftover butyl?
The first time I did my headlights, I ran it with no reflector lens and I looks good, doesn't affect light output, more for design and light deflection at night i believe. You don't need switchbacks. You can run the normal amber bulbs
Thank you. I didn't show it on the car, because I completed the project in the winter, and it's dam near impossible to install headlights I'm the freezing cold/snow
My question if anyone knows, is doing this illegal in the state of Illinois? I looked on Google but I haven't gotten a yes or no answer for doing this only.
Wish I seen this b4 I did mines clear very well explained Another good vid wud be wud be changing headliner I can seem to find any diy videos on them for the 3gTL
Thanks man. Trying my best to explain, which is something I'm usually not good at lol. Head liner stuff seems pretty straight forward. But I have not once had to change it, sorry. Try to look up similar cars, including TSX, older TL, Accord 03-07. Similar platforms
Changing anything on a 3g is a pain in the neck, but the headliners is crappy on any car.Remove the visors,a,b and c-pillar covers, and finally the sunroof control switches and lights.good luck, don't bend it.👍
Excuse me friend, I would like to know if you know the measurements of the rings that surround the lights of the magnifying glass, I want to install led halo in my acura tl type s, but I do not know if they are seven or eight inches, could you help me?
Trying my best with the tutorials, I'm not the best at it. Slowly and surely I'll improve. Enjoy the content in the mean time
TheCarFiend when you’re closing up the headlights do you glue them back together?

is there anything else i could use as a substitute for the screen you used ?

Definitely sand down first, before spraying. Any method for removing the chrome can be used
Is it still a noticeable turn signal without the orange piece? Isn’t that supposed to help the light be seen in contrast with the led ?
I'm running LED turn signals and they were definitely noticeable. Not sure about regular bulbs. That orange piece essentially diffuses light, same as the white diffuser I use in this project
What about the rear turn signal lens?
anyone have a link to the 07-08 JDM headlights?
It's not JDM by any means. 07-08 headlights are also different with the base model and TypeS. Look slightly different and take different turn signal bulbs
Where did you get your saw tool?
Its a basic dremel tool, with a cutting disc. You can get that anywhere, a hardware store should have it, even Walmart
Can I just drive without the Amber ?
Yeah, you can run no reflector. I just wanted to be different and try something new
You’re a genius 🤣 I would’ve never thought of that lol ik what my next project is
haha thanks. Giving people ideas so they can take it to the next level. Don't be limited to what I use
I’ve been wanting knew lights mines are fogged up and yellow know I think I’m going to sand them down and do this instead
What did you black out the housing with
Did you have to sand it or just use spray paint
I used the basic rustoleum Black paint, same as this one.. amzn.to/3m4d0To

Clean the headlight lense after it's all put together. Here's what I used for rubber butyl.. amzn.to/35I5Sq1

Peel it off by hand, use a heatgun if needed.
I am considering this. I wonder how a darker tint clear coat would effect the material you replaced the amber lens with.
That would look pretty sick. Light out for the turn signal would diminish though.
How did you bake them open?
Check out my whole playlist from the beginning 👍
Very instructional ! Willing to give it a try.
Hey quick question would it effect if I didn’t have any lens and switch backs

nice work but why didn't ypu let us see it on the car dude? lol

why would it be illegal
@@apoxov7064 I see conflicting info that removing amber could get you a ticket or that it doesn't

Niiiiice! Definitely doing that when I have time
Can't wait to mod my Hyundai Tiburon 03
Use a heat gun when bending the plastic it will be easier to work with
