This is just me but I’d choose Colorado for a home base. And during winter rv in Florida. What those people are going through with back to back hurricanes is just so sad. People in Florida are much stronger than I am to lose everything and rebuild hats off to them.

Helloooo from Ouray, Colorado!! Our Hawaiian fall just came to an end today :-( Yeaterday, my dog and I were up around 13,000 feet, hiking around and enjoying the views....in my shorts and t shirt. The snow has arrived now :-(
Thank you soooo much for highlighting that Southern section of Colorado!! Up until 2 years ago, we were property owners there in the Wet Mountains (right next to Rosita, CO). But, since it is national parky where we live now, we sold it.
We have a boondockable travel trailer with a solar set up. I will plan to head towards the areas you highlighted in this video. It is always really fun to stop and smell the roses in these smaller communities.
I really really enjoy the Colorado State Park system!! It will be fun to explore Lathrop.
Being that you lived there, you are probably familiar with the Comanche National Grasslands out to the east of Walsenburg? I have the concept of a trip sketched out to explore out there too. I usually get puzzled looks from people when I say I want to go hike in the canyons out there. They just don't know what they are missing!! I know my German Shepherd will enjoy doing that with me!
    Safe travels!!
