Thoughts on new black fleet? Maybe we got spoiled in years past by having black ships with unique stats (Bismarck, Ibuki, etc) but this year feels lame. Alaska only being a crate drop, Pytor being available for GxP, and pommern being a part of the worst mechanic legends has ever seen.

Last time I heard (which was admittedly over a year or two ago) CVs were selected 3% of the time. But I wouldn’t be surprised if that is closer to 5% now.

Welcome back. The update is a mixed bag for me. Velos gets Fletcher dpm and screamer torps. And devs will do anything but bring back popular campaigns for gxp to the point introducing a new ship.

IF I heard the clip right, the Campaign DD was mentioned as definitely having Sonar AND Smoke together, and a strong emphasis was made of just how hard-hitting her guns were. Nary a mention of her torps, I note.. Not going for it myself. I also have an extremely low opinion of the Crafting Station. The costs were incredible - I've been playing for several years, have quite a build-up of various things, but they wouldn't even begin to dent what was required there. The only recourse would have been Real Money, a LOT of it. Not for the first time, it seemed like WG didn't think any of its customers could count or do math. "Shill" was an uncannily appropriate name choice. Have several of the Black Ships already, My luck of late seems to be all about getting the 'normal' versions as well via box draws. So I have "twins" of Mutsu, Warspite, Scharnie and a couple of others. Really don't need another Alaska, to be honest - I like the ship, just don't see the necessity. But with my luck ..... :) The new Bureau Projects I would consider, but the roadblocks are completely out of hand, imo. It wasn't so bad at first, but now every single new Project requires you to be fully fleshed out in a specific Tech Tree just to proceed WG trying to get people to sink more money into the game. GXP aircraft carrier? Pass. Emphatically. Counter to your question of 'what percentage of WOWSL Players play carriers', is how many carrier players pay extra $$$$ to do so? Thinking that is, or should be, the core of the question.

Welcome back, man! First Black Friday event that I haven’t been excited about. Very strange selection of ships. The Black Black is ok for the pun… but past that I’m confused by their choices. Campaign looks ok; a T7 is always good even if it’s blah, the normal goodies, plus 2 Black Friday crates which I assume would cost a thousand dubs each in the store. So, 10$ from me this month… unless the pirate stuff is cool…

The campaign is a tier7, on pc the ships is a tier6 or 5 in legends, he got buffed a lot and was on test at the same time as Marceau so we already have his stats and he have a sonar

Thanks for the breakdown. For DD players, it's a very good update. Mahan ftw NB original clear skies was 20 planes. 40 was ridiculous, what were they thinking?!
In the test phase: Schonberg seemed relatively strong. The sonar was 5.6 km, and you can swap the smoke for a main better reload booster. Feels kinda like a Loyang. Not strong torps, but stronger and punchier guns with a strong sonar. I think it’s possibly gonna be very good, if they haven’t super nerfed it since.
Having only been in the game for a year I'm super happy to be getting a shot at the Black B also the Schonberg , while the stats were sort of uninspiring at first and its moving to T7 so we'll see how it rolls vs its opposition, one thing to note is it could receive a buff if it underperforms (see Velos), and just for variety sake ... having a DD instead of a brawling BB as a campaign is a relief. Slow roll out of LT ships is annoying especially if you are a long time player... wish they did 2 a month instead of what like 2 a year (?) .. but I digress
Black Black is going to be cool (especially for those who missed her) super strong DD imo. and yeah the sonar part that i missed alone will make Schonberg more interesting.
@DerkaGames The KVS have been in test few month ago, I rant it for a week. And with my build he was like this: 5km detectability 5.6km sonar 25k HP 4s reload on guns with 1900 damages A smoke and speed boost if I remember correctly. Does that sound mediocre for you?
Alaska B being the crate exclusive ship and Pommern B being the crafting station ship has definitely made this update a downer I will say that Black B being finally added is nice though lol

I'm unimpressed with this update, again. That's the bulk of this year's updates have been underwhelming. Glad to see a Pan European DD in LT. Underwhelming campaign ship but I do like German DDs, the lack of AA doesn't matter because AA basically is fecking useless, especially if Kaga is in the game. Carriers are still op as all hell if there's a competent player controlling it. I normally go a bit nuts on Black ships but pissed off to see the crafting station back. I like the Caprice, not Capri😉, I usually have a decent game in her. I have zero interest in carriers, I will only play them if required in a bureau or other mission.
Totally agreed, not a lot of interesting stuff this update. I was holding out hope for a new tech tree black ship with differing stats but no such luck =(
I think the 'Crafting Station' is going to be another disappointment like last time. I would say 90% of the players now won't be able to foot the bill for another FUBAR offer. If anything I'm aiming for Alaska B and Black B.
I wish they would make the black ships different from their normal version, like I have the Dunkirk and i got the black version and it's pointless as they are the same
HES BACK (Im disgusted by how WG is giving pommern for like 128 million forint, I missed out on the campain back in the day and i really regretted it, but now that they give it back, they price it for an outrageous amount of money. WG, this is unacceptable what you've done to me.)

I was gonna say Quac as premium tier 8 BBs go pommern is really awful. Tiny guns, inaccurate, Marlborough like firing angles so you can never get a full broadside off, torps knocked constantly, terrible H class maneuvering (feels like a GK in mud), massive superstructure is easily farmed. Secondaries are okay but a ship like Prinz R is more fun

This game is the most FOMO game ever. Really big turnoff when you realize they don’t really add anything like an expansion. No new modes like nation vs nation that has been asked for since day one. Was fun for awhile I will give them that.
Been wanting the pommern but not gonna take one in the A** to craft it... they say it's been asked for but they make it to where the only people that can afford it are the people who have been playing from the beginning and most of them have the pommern so sounds like WG wants people to pay hundreds of dollars to craft it... greed

Crafting station is cool for those crate whales but im just glad they didnt put something super desireable in it this time. I dont know im just desensitized to the game at this point. Just what happens when they lock things behind cratewalls. I almost didnt get the scharnhorsr 43 but i wanted ark royal to complete my Unsinkable Sam collection. So i bought some of the currency i needed and ended up getting both. WG does what WG does. Ill enjoy the t7 campaign and ill enjoy the red blue pendulum thats become the game.
To be fair out of the black friday ship this year iwmai even tho i hate the iwami and of course black are in my opinion the best ones in a way they are both campaign ahips that never made a return especially black aka black black
Not much meat here I well get the campain ship the black friday ships got most now, as for the crafting one not even going to waste my stuff as its just a reskin, the first was a new ship, one CV which tier 7 no thanks to much AA, No crossover event, So other then the campain ship skipping the reast, I think WG well find a lot doing that this time.
I had Pommern then sold it. Terrible accuracy, range, pens, and mobility. Frustrating ship to have and will always be low battle reaults. Not worth it.
We got scamed again with the workbench. Why don't we moan about it and ask to make it more accessible for everyone so that none of us needs to sell lungs, knees, heart to get it?
A very underwhelming update. Hopefully the sales can save it. They're the only thing I'll be interested in, aside from Schönberg and the Soviet paper carrier.

This game is the most FOMO game ever. Really big turnoff when you realize they don’t really add anything like an expansion.
No new modes like nation vs nation that has been asked for since day one. Was fun for awhile I will give them that.
Yesss add new game modes like on PC. Objective stuff like convoy escort, airship, and the one with the consumables you pick up

Been wanting the pommern but not gonna take one in the A** to craft it... they say it's been asked for but they make it to where the only people that can afford it are the people who have been playing from the beginning and most of them have the pommern so sounds like WG wants people to pay hundreds of dollars to craft it... greed

For the update i will give the campaign ship a run. I prefer t7 campaigns anyway. Crafting station is cool for those crate whales but im just glad they didnt put something super desireable in it this time. I dont know im just desensitized to the game at this point. Just what happens when they lock things behind cratewalls. I almost didnt get the scharnhorsr 43 but i wanted ark royal to complete my Unsinkable Sam collection. So i bought some of the currency i needed and ended up getting both.
WG does what WG does. Ill enjoy the t7 campaign and ill enjoy the red blue pendulum thats become the game.

So other then the campain ship skipping the reast, I think WG well find a lot doing that this time.

I had Pommern then sold it. Terrible accuracy, range, pens, and mobility. Frustrating ship to have and will always be low battle reaults. Not worth it.
