It's crazy how this almost reflects reality. People build communities, grow them into empires, only to be crumbled by others and mostly forgotten. This is taking a very philosophical turn, but it makes me think that the beauty of something great is not that it lasts forever and is known to all, but instead because it was witnessed by only a select few who hold a small piece of history as their own.

boi boi this is 2b2t one of the oldest servers. There are no rules at all and players have been playing for upwards of 6(+) years no rules at all. People like to do whatever they want on 2b2t. So yeah
@Mad Man if you use your real name as your username, you can get them for breach of GDPR. The GDPR states that IP addresses should be considered personal data as it enters the scope of 'online identifiers'.
Am I seriously watching a documentary on a virtual lego grand heist involving intentional destruction of great wonders for potential display as museum artifacts, intrigue, scheming and trickery? All within one server of one game about stacking cubic blocks? This is amazing.
As a History Geek, I have to disagree. It’s very important that something like Project Vault exists, so newer players can experience the many elaborate and advanced structures that 2b2t was once home to. Craters are one thing, but entire cities are another.
Jeff Neinenstein I see your point, very cool to see the completed builds, but it takes away from the mystery of lost grandeur seen in old ruins. The wonder of what it was like to step inside these majestic builds in their prime. It’s a feeling only known to a select few, and that’s what makes it so special. Not to mention the entire point of 2b2t is that there aren’t rules and that places can be destroyed without much penalty. To make a server where those builds still remain only defeats the purpose and the history of 2b2t itself, betraying its very existence.

Nothing will ever last. 2b2t server seems very interesting and has a lot of history, but the fact that some are willing to put so much time into something beautiful just to have destroyed quicker then it was built is quite saddening. Someday I plan to join this community and will attempt to thrive in such a wasteland with an open mind that nothing will ever last, even the time we put into it. A base that’s meant for conquest and control, overlooking the lands. A base that will be one step ahead of those who seek nothing but destruction. A home that many can call and seek refuge in the times of war. My idea for a “base” is kinda like migration for the people. Base kits that will contain the pieces of the past, even others requirements for improvements, and will be constructed into something better then its predecessors will be spread out into different coordinates and await construction. Testing different styles, layouts, and even foundation to fend off barbarians while still looking aesthetically pleasing. One thing I have learned from this is that the fortresses we built are not as strong as the bonds we form with others. The memories we make are valuable then that of the most rarest items we could ever set are eyes upon. Fortresses will fall but the people will move on and continue to thrive. I look forward to 2b2t and the opportunities it holds. Thank you.
James Sinclair dude I’ve escaped spawn 3 times today literally just turn on baritone and set it to go to a positive negative coordinate and you’ll be on the highway
A very noble cause, but take care not to let 2bt2's community manipulate your ambitions. Carve out a path for yourself before thinking of saving others, first. At least that's what I've learned in my time observing the anarchy server from a distance.
So everything we see in 2b2t was basically made in survival without anything resembling creative mode? All of the blocks were harvested naturally (wool, wood, stone, ores, etc.)?
I didn’t know Offtopia ran the server and BUT Beardler!!! I’ve been sending him every base I freaking found!!! As I always say, War is the natural state of humans, but those who have the power to go to war but choosw not to do it ascended not only as humans but as a species itself
I still really really hope that we, one day, can all tour these bases.. would be amazing to make them public. only video footage would be a shame for the effort they all put in.
And this is why i refuse to join 2b2t not by the hostility and unstrustworthyness but by the drama. (I never knew about 2b2t until the rusher war.) I haven't even touched the server, just been watching since then due to how mysterious and awesome of what people can create in this voxel game.
"Whats the point of looking at a base that has been touched up?" Its almost like these builds come from a wasteland full of shitheels that blow things up constantly. I mean Jesus, look at the old Facepunch base.
Except there's no social accountability there: i.e. If you could reach through a griefer's screen and punch him in the mouth, there would be *alot* less of it.
Stuff like map art, signs, books written by other players, player heads, or even just lists of coords which are particularly significant (I dont think there is an official definition)
So now any records of the amazing builds have finally been lost to time? Such a shame. I have some private builds (not amazing but I'm proud of them regardless) stored on a Cloud server, just knowing that it's not gone makes me happy, I imagine the other builders felt like that too.
The problem with 2b2t is that the only people that can play, have fun, and be part of the server must be old players. Not only to noobs get slaughtered, but they have to wait for hours in Queue. It’s bs, it needs to be changed.
Change your ip address. Here's a good tutorial www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000784.htm If you still feel unsafe, change your passwords (it won't do anything but it can be like a safety blanket).
Serves Offtopia right that his secret base got exposed by his own machine. Honestly Fit, you made the right call in immediately reaching out to Ant. Good job.
Has there ever been a wholesome time someone discovered a base on this server? Like maybe a silly prank that wouldn't involve the desecration of everything they know and love?
The Monastery was an eight year old base that was founded by three guys who became inactive after a bit. A newer guy found the base, upgraded and renovated it while protecting it, and became friends with the original founders after they logged on after some time.
Oh, come on. I used to be friends with Beardler. He was a cool guy when I met him. We used to have intelligent conversations together, and he was overall just a laid back person. Looks like there was more than meets the eye. It’s a shame
I've played on this one server before and I loved walking through the ruins all around spawn. That's what I really like about multiplayer, seeing other people's old builds! Unfortunately when my Minecraft updated it ruined my server list and I don't remember the servers ip or name, but it was truly incredible to see.
History of Offtopia (may be incomplete or wrong) 2011 Offtopia joins 2b2t. 2013 Offtopia meets Fit for the first time. 2015-2016 Offtopia becomes Obi-Wan-Kenobi figure of 2b2t. 2016 Offtopia gets tricked by Rusher, and goes full on secluded mode on whoever he thought had something to do with leaking crystal islands coords. 2018 Offtopia's, and several other's reputation is ruined, and none of them will recover from it.
@@CaveyMoth The builders are hausemaster and his friend (who used to own a gmod server named 2b2t, also with hausemaster i think) and the tools were probably them. Or its a gmod reference and its 2 gravity guns
"what's the point of going to a vault to see bases from 2b2t when you can see the ruins instead?" Bro, not having my IP stolen and personal information taken? You basically explained the appeal IN the video.
The vault idea was fantastic, like the institute in fallout, but I would plan an ambitious wall with obsidian/lava/obsidian/water/obsidian/lava/obsidian. And I know it sounds impossible, but obsidian can be made and if all those bases had so much material, for sure all that wanted to preserve 2b2t history in physical form, with maintenance, it would be impenetrable
To all players that don't know how to change there IP: Use a VPN/a program like Tunnelbear. This program hides your IP so other players can get the fake IP and not the real one. To change your ip, call up your service provider and ask them to change your ip, if they ask why say people have your ip and plan to use it maliciously. Or if you have a static ip, unplug your router for about 5 mins and reconnect and your ip will be changed.
I would make a base near spawn! Steps on how to make a base near spawn Step 1: Look for some cobblestone Step 2: Get as much cobblestone as you can. Step 3: Build with the cobblestone you have Step 4: Repeat steps 1, 2, and 3
i find 2b2t so interesting and admirable. its like a second earth, but digitally. if the people were more peaceful, we could do groundbraking things. but no, people *have to* grief. still, i like the idea of a second society o. 2b2t
I've been binging this channel with the 2b2t content and it's fascinating to see how this world has developed from an anthropological perspective. It's like Battle World from Marvel, a world that's a mash of all worlds to create something new, unique, and genuine. If our reality is a simulation, then 2b2t is a representation of that simulation in a form we can control. Like a mirror reflecting another mirror, 2b2t is a reflection of our own reality. I like your take on 2b2t, please keep exploring this fascinating universe.
One thing I totally didn't think about regarding griefing bases until I saw this video: the beds. Not only is a bunch of hard work gone, but people have to spawn back at spawn and that's rough.
Even after watching this, I still have to disagree. This history _should_ be preserved. It may not be an original, but it allows players to be inspired by the sheer craft and tenacity of old and new players alike, to witness a piece of something that did exist, if only for a moment. Unlike real-life, you can't just dig up old bases. Once they're gone, that's it: They are gone. Preserving this is important, it just so happened that both current attempts have failed.
Not what I anticipated! I expected a 2b2t base with books, signs, display builds of portions of builds lost to time…. Coordinates of ruins to visit and some group wanting to destroy it like The Library of Alexandria. I love the concept of the base covered our host did that was a build for weary travelers tucked in the woods, folks invited to add to it if they desired. Surprisingly undisturbed at the time it was toured. Was not expecting data collection, betrayals, forgiveness and more betrayal, thievery, deception and coverups. 2b2t so crazy, speculate the worst and it pales in comparison to the actual happenings. 👍
You know what the saddest thing about the end message is? Watching the videos about the World Downloads for The Vault have made me want to try and do great things in Minecraft again, which is a game I haven't touched for months, until I did yesterday, thanks to watching your World Download videos for The Vault. Or at least a couple of them. I'll admit to not playing on 2b2t, due to being relegated to Console play, but still... it saddens me that I won't get to see those beautiful creations anymore, shown around by you. I mean, what's the point it making something amazing, if no one ever gets to see it?

His voice is nothing like a documentary narrator's. He just talks dramatically and exaggerates everything.
@@cowbatboots282 so?
@@cowbatboots282 then why watch
"Whats the point of looking at a base that has been touched up?" Its almost like these builds come from a wasteland full of shitheels that blow things up constantly. I mean Jesus, look at the old Facepunch base.
when you give people too much freedom this happens: *all the events in 2B2T*
Except there's no social accountability there:
i.e. If you could reach through a griefer's screen and punch him in the mouth, there would be *alot* less of it.
*Way no to these servers, they're not keeping 2b2t alive*
FitMC's uploads are, right everyone?
Moral of the story, sometimes it’s more fun to remember what was and realize how far you’ve come, or ponder what could have been and can be done.
I’m new to this 2B2T stuff, but what’s a “legendary artifact”
A key piece of 2B2T history, such as an item or structure used or made by a critical player in the server's history.
Yes, like the popbob’s chainmail Armor
Stuff like map art, signs, books written by other players, player heads, or even just lists of coords which are particularly significant (I dont think there is an official definition)
24k weapons, MLP map art, the usual.

So now any records of the amazing builds have finally been lost to time? Such a shame. I have some private builds (not amazing but I'm proud of them regardless) stored on a Cloud server, just knowing that it's not gone makes me happy, I imagine the other builders felt like that too.
I’m upset I’ve been playing mc since late 2012 and never knew about 2b2t
therealbluwes same
Yeah, same. I've been missing out on years of history since I was 2, and could’ve witnessed some of it at the age of around 4 or 5
@@Mzoyagon I don't think a 5 year old would enjoy 2b2t
@@Mzoyagon im guessing you are 12 or 13 rn
Ok for those who are still wondering what the song is at the beginning its Arabian Knightsby TheGeekSquad find it on soundcloud
TYSM
3:23, is that an actual copy of Aureus City?
The problem with 2b2t is that the only people that can play, have fun, and be part of the server must be old players. Not only to noobs get slaughtered, but they have to wait for hours in Queue. It’s bs, it needs to be changed.
6:25 every time fit mentions the name "alphacomputer" you know you're about to hear something incredible
AlphaComputer's alt account is BetaCalculator
wtf is with offtopia?
Offtopia was a friend of Fit right?
snowcoal every 1 knows offtopias mates with neda but she already has a boyfriend people think its offtopia
he is a homosexual
snowcoal He went to ONtopia
zeus3x gameing So funny dude. You insulting a SEXUAL ORIENTATION HAHAHAHAHA
i connected to the museum server in the last couple weeks, what should i do to prevent anything from going on without my knowing?
nor mie Change your ip
Unplug your modem/router for at least ten minutes
Change your ip address.
Here's a good tutorial
www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000784.htm
If you still feel unsafe, change your passwords (it won't do anything but it can be like a safety blanket).
The chances are, they aren’t gonna use ur IP at all
nor mie Nobody cares about your IP
Serves Offtopia right that his secret base got exposed by his own machine.
Honestly Fit, you made the right call in immediately reaching out to Ant. Good job.
*Me*: "Oh look a shitty pile of cobble"
*FitMC*: "...This ancient relic of the past has a history you cannot even begin to comprehend..."
@@sovereigntyofvoyagers7380 then it got rekt by greifers.

God I love these informative 2b2t lore videos
Oh, come on. I used to be friends with Beardler. He was a cool guy when I met him. We used to have intelligent conversations together, and he was overall just a laid back person. Looks like there was more than meets the eye. It’s a shame
This is going to begin either another incursion or spiral into another youtuber invasion, either way stay safe pals
I bet the incursion will be about taking down the museum server for good...
I've played on this one server before and I loved walking through the ruins all around spawn. That's what I really like about multiplayer, seeing other people's old builds! Unfortunately when my Minecraft updated it ruined my server list and I don't remember the servers ip or name, but it was truly incredible to see.
So,the world downloads of those 2b2t bases were lost??
All those building are gone for good!!!??
To me, the sadness is all these beautiful towns and buildings and people decide to destroy all those hours of building
History of Offtopia (may be incomplete or wrong)
2011 Offtopia joins 2b2t.
2018 Offtopia's, and several other's reputation is ruined, and none of them will recover from it.
you thought I wouldn’t notice that you had used this thumbnail once before!
yhea i notice that as well
Fit said the actual name of the server ma first time hearing it 2builders2tools
Who are these builders, and what were their tools? ...Or were they the tools?
@@CaveyMoth The builders are hausemaster and his friend (who used to own a gmod server named 2b2t, also with hausemaster i think) and the tools were probably them. Or its a gmod reference and its 2 gravity guns
hard to beleive these sweaty men try to control basically everything
Can we appreciate how my mans used gta 5 Heists music
Well now I'm glad I didn't join that server, thanks.
and crap, I didn't get my popcorn
The way he describes these players make them seem like psychopaths😂 finding joy in destroying/leaking the months even years spent on a build😂
Fit: ...when you could see the ruins of what once was on 2b
2b2t queue: no you can't
my broke ass: no you can't
It's sad that there isn't a project vault/2b2t museum-Server today.
Hey Everyone,
Private Internet Access VPN is only 6.95 a month, it works on most Minecraft servers including 2b2t
NordVPN is cheaper and works as well
at first i was like “nooo who could grief this sweet ass server?” and then i heard it was stolen and it was free game from there
"what's the point of going to a vault to see bases from 2b2t when you can see the ruins instead?" Bro, not having my IP stolen and personal information taken? You basically explained the appeal IN the video.
Obama plays on 2b2t in the Oval Office using the national budget
The vault idea was fantastic, like the institute in fallout, but I would plan an ambitious wall with obsidian/lava/obsidian/water/obsidian/lava/obsidian. And I know it sounds impossible, but obsidian can be made and if all those bases had so much material, for sure all that wanted to preserve 2b2t history in physical form, with maintenance, it would be impenetrable
What did you learned?: Dynamic IP DDOS don’t exist lmao 😂
To all players that don't know how to change there IP: Use a VPN/a program like Tunnelbear. This program hides your IP so other players can get the fake IP and not the real one. To change your ip, call up your service provider and ask them to change your ip, if they ask why say people have your ip and plan to use it maliciously. Or if you have a static ip, unplug your router for about 5 mins and reconnect and your ip will be changed.
Minecraft doesnt let you play with tunnelbear lole
Odd... then use something else... all you got to do is search VPN...
You mean if you have a dynamic IP. A static IP doesn't change, that's why it's called static.

This song should have played during the 14k shulker box heist.
Yeah i thought the same
It's north yankton memories/threes company ost for yall
I would make a base near spawn!
Steps on how to make a base near spawn
Step 1: Look for some cobblestone
Step 2: Get as much cobblestone as you can.
Step 3: Build with the cobblestone you have
Step 4: Repeat steps 1, 2, and 3
And where you would get food?
It could get griefed
The lore of 2b2t is amazing, I've only just discovered this rabbit hole.
i find 2b2t so interesting and admirable. its like a second earth, but digitally. if the people were more peaceful, we could do groundbraking things. but no, people *have to* grief. still, i like the idea of a second society o. 2b2t
I logged on to the Museum about a week before this vid, should I change my ip or get a VPN?
Hello there vpn
Use nordvpn jk it too late RUNa
*grab your popcorn because this is gonna be some good block game drama*
Why is Jesus t posing

Even after watching this, I still have to disagree. This history _should_ be preserved. It may not be an original, but it allows players to be inspired by the sheer craft and tenacity of old and new players alike, to witness a piece of something that did exist, if only for a moment. Unlike real-life, you can't just dig up old bases. Once they're gone, that's it: They are gone. Preserving this is important, it just so happened that both current attempts have failed.
2b is no longer just a minecraft server its a piece of art and history
No, it's human history
It has it's world war and everything
bruh it's sad as heck seeing years of work being blown up
How's no one talking about FitMC's cinematic shots???👌
It kinda suprised me that a certain mega base wasn't griefed.
Some Gamer chances are it belonged to Museum staff
Uh hasn’t always been known that the museum is an IP Logger
Is this Lane person you mentioned also known as PF2M? I can give you lot of good info on him if he is.
👍
Truly disgusting, that some "people" would do this horrible thing.

I'll admit to not playing on 2b2t, due to being relegated to Console play, but still... it saddens me that I won't get to see those beautiful creations anymore, shown around by you.
I mean, what's the point it making something amazing, if no one ever gets to see it?
