As a beginner, she is correct about the lenses she suggested. I think for a beginner your suggestion may be too much money, although good suggestions as well.
I agree! I'm shooting on the 28-70 now and love it, but it was a big investment for sure! I think it's good for beginners to shoot prime first to really understand what each focal length looks like and when to use each one. I feel like I appreciate the 28-70 so much more since I started with primes.

As a beginner photographer this is the must have gear: camera---Canon R5II; lenses: 28-70mm, f/2 and 24-105mm, f/2.8, and 85mm prime f/1.2
