The one thing, THE ONE THING, that will always, at least, get a chuckle outta me is when Felix tries to act like Ralph and use his hammer to break the bars but then actually ends up doing the castle maintenance crew a favor by UPGRADING the bars. THAT, my friends, will probably make me laugh every time I see it, for years to come.
One of my favorite things about this movie is the progressiveness to Felix looking for Ralph. He starts with "I'm looking for my associate", then goes to "I'm looking for my companion", then "I'm looking for my friend".
Also some good foreshadowing is when King Candy asks if Ralph is going turbo, but the other characters from the same game and Hero's Duty are too new to have even heard about Turbo.
Well, excluding Hero's duty which of course just plugged in, Sugar rush has been around slightly more longer than Hero's duty. So, they might learn a thing or 2 about turbo (Hence that Turbo is actually in the game as another character, but they didn't know it yet.)
An interesting fact about this movie. There is a reason why they got so many incredible game licenses and never properly used any of them. The original script for the film was loaded with a lot more game references, but they found that the constant nods to gaming made it really distracting, and people watching were more focused on looking out for more easter eggs than focusing on the movie. As a result they needed to cut down a lot on the references, but they still wanted to use the licences they had already gotten. Thus, these really short cameos.
You really have to respect one's decision to cut back and exercise restraint and moderation. It can be easy to just try and stuff ALL you can in a work.
@Khan Family Unfortunately with RBTI, Disney didn't give the crew the creative freedom they had with the first movie, so it ended up giving pointless Disney cameos more screentime than half of the main cast (i.e. Felix and Calhoun getting shoved into a babysitting plot instead of the main adventure, then having THAT get cut at the last minute in favor of cameos and internet jokes so we never get to see what the couple is doing or have any focus on the arcade). The deleted scenes and art book had more of their plot than the whole movie, and even the new original characters barely got to do anything. All this contributed to the director Rich Moore (who also directed Wreck-It Ralph as well as Zootopia) leaving Disney a few months after RBTI released. Basically it's a lesson to all of the people who were under the false impression of "they should've had [insert list of cameos here] and Mario and Sonic show up and be Ralph's friends and get a bunch of references and make the movie into a giant cameo dispenser at the expense of the main cast". Contrary to rumors and clickbait, the crew had never promised cameos to have focused appearances or major screentime. It never works, it just turns the movie into a soulless commercial, and even as a retro gaming fan I'm glad Wreck-It Ralph kept the focus on the cast and setting (which fit the arcade feel perfectly) instead of bogging it down with incessant fanservicey cameos.
The second movie: a former video game villain who learns that you have to put your desire to be close to your best friend aside and help them to find their true calling even if it means letting go of them.
If you paid attention to the announcer when King Candy threw his coin into the cup, the said his name but it sounded forced and when he said venelopie's name he sounded ecstatic. It's like the announcer knew she wasn't a glitch all this time but he had to follow his programming since he is, after all, just a voice.
Went back to watch the scene from the movie itself. True! It sounded forced and the voice was even a little different. It sounded like Turbo had altered with the files and made it say King Candy and recognize him. For Vanellope, it's generally more excited, since she's the princess.
By the way props to the villain for actually coming up with a fair reason for why he can't let venellope race. it be one thing if it was just shes a glitch or some bad raceist metaphor but no he comes up with a legitimate reason that it could lead to the game getting unplugged and venelloppe getting basically killed . which makes the twist later all the more villainous
yeah, I thought that the King Candy was the villain when I first saw the movie but then seriously reconsidered after his speech. It's a really well-put reason.
@@christophermercaldi8616 no he is definitely still the villain, just a very cunning one. He came up with a believable excuse to not let Venellope race, but even ralph was like "how are you sure that's what would happen?" because this was all speculation. In reality king candy knew if venellope raced and crossed the finish line the game would reset and she would undo all his work - his assistant (sourball thing?) told us this - so that's why he did everything he could not to let her race.
You missed the part at the end where every gun was trained on the church window. I found it really amusing and a good callback to how she lost her first husband.
I think it's a callback and a really cute and decent way to treat her PTSD. Her special day without any form of threat or harm, not to mention that the one time Felix says Dynamite Gal and sees her freak, he NEVER says it in front of her again. It's honestly really sweet to me, but I dunno if anybody else sees it that way.
@@dulouis6059 I hadn't really noticed that before, but now that you point it out, yeah, you're correct. The thing about their relationship I like is that, in a very odd way, they're really well suited to each other. Felix may be *very* old school, but he is still an action hero who climbs a building to fight the baddie. He and Calhoun have a lot of code in common.
I really like how the Mentos/Cola volcano track is basically what you'd call an off-camera secret, which is commonly found in games like Mario Kart (a racing game, just like Sugar Rush) where there are hidden areas outside the camera's veiw that were never finished and therefore aren't playable or accessible by the players, but in the game's own universe they're still there and can still be accessed by the game's characters. I don't know, I just thought it was a really cool inclusion.
One of my favourite things I've seen brought up is how Ralph managed to help Vanelope make such a good race car. Since Ralph's main function is to break things, when he put the car together, he made a "broken" racer; as in, a car with such good stats in speed, handling, acceleration, etc, that breaks the game if you use it because no one else stands a chance. Ralph managed to wreck it right.
When Vanellope is giving Ralph her candy medal, she makes him kneel down and speaks to him like a princess. A nice little hint to the fact that she has an actual code and is an important character in the game. Edit: Also, look at Ralph's face when he smashes Vanellope's car! His face looks so hurt! He regularily destroys the Nicelanders' building, but they're not his friends and they're not nearly as devastated when he wrecks their building. (Also, he built the car with Vanellope).
Not only is it something he built with her, but that was probably the first time he built something instead of wrecking it. The car represented that moment where he truly went against his code.
@@PsychoDiesel48 it was so sad that I cry every time I watched it even tho I watched it about 100 times, and it’s so sad that cinemasins himself broke down and tried to tell us that he wasn’t crying and someone was just chopping onions
I still have so much trouble getting through that scene. mainly because I went through the same thing Vanellope did, and because her voice is so heart wrenching. the voice actress did so good.
Wasnt really that hard when youre disney: basically they said let us use your characters or else we everyone will only get to see your rivals characters. The biggest trouble was all the various games companies insisting that THEIR villain should be bigger than the other. In the end Disney made all the main villains in the therapy session the exact same height
Now imagine what it takes for Smash Bros. I imagine they have to check with literally everyone already in with whether or not its OK to be featured alongside X character. Shits crazy.
My favorite moment is when Felix calls her "dynamite gal" and you get this flashback to see her backstory of this guy she was going to marry who called her the same thing but got eaten by cybugs at their wedding. It's a great portrayal of a trigger and how to respond: Felix never again calls her "dynamite gal" in her presence--only refers to her as such when he's talking about her to Ralph--and when she marries Felix, her fellow soldiers train their guns on the window to assure that they'll be safe this time. Very understated but wonderful moment.
One thing I utterly love about this movie is how unpredictable it is. Look at the ending for example. When Ralph was going up to the volcano to cause the eruption, it was pretty obvious what would happen next. Explosion happens, Cybugs die, Sugar Rush is saved, Vanellope crosses finish line, etc. etc. etc. The end. Or so we thought until, y'know... "WELCOME TO THE BOSS LEVEL!" Heck, we were tricked into thinking this guy was dead twice now. Once when Felix told the story, and we all assumed he died when Roadblasters was unplugged. Now when he was eaten, still alive. Anyways, so then there's the boss fight and we're all on the edge of our seats, and when Ralph makes that self-sacrifice, it's in NO WAY predictable anymore. Nobody knows what to think. So they just cry. I still get choked up just thinking about it. And when Vanellope saves him, we don't think "oh, this is getting predictable again". We're too busy cheering and jumping up and down and punching the air. Release WiR2 in my country already!
It's such a shame because this movie has perfect portential for a awesome sequel (for many of the same reasons Toy Story did) but it got RBTI instead. It would've been great to have Ralph, Vanellope, Felix, and Calhoun gong on an adventure all together and seeing how strong their bond has become as a found-family.
Well, Turbo is pretty much already dead after being eaten by the bug. The bug intimates Turbo according to his makeshift code, hence why he is acting like Turbo, but more monstrous and happy to kill everything. "Watch it, rookie! These monsters become what they eat!" -Calhoun Before Turbo got eaten by the same bug ralph bought to Sugar rush, he was screaming as if he never expected the bug to attack him. In fact, he didn't expect it at all. So, it would make no sense that Turbo got used to his bug form within minutes even if he's alive. In conclusion: The bug becomes Turbo, not Turbo taking over the bug.
@@phillipwalling7470 I know this is very late to the party, but another line that shows that the cy-bug became turbo is that when he got transformed, he says " I can take over any game I want!" which is then followed by " I should thank you, but it'd be more fun to kill you!" This indicates that the cy-bug's desire to kill and multiply from "eat, kill multiply" got integrated into his code.
@@RandomDragonEXE I believe I already made an in depth theory on another video, which inevitably is turned to a RUclips kids friendly video, which also disabled the Comments. So, yeah, Turbo is only the antagonist of the 2nd act, which is the majority of Sugar Rush and the Bug that attacked Ralph after it's hatched is the 3rd act villain, therefore making it the main villain upon consuming Turbo in the end. Also, no worries. I sometimes replied to comments usually 10 years old. There's no shame in it.
5:05 may I add that in the Italian version the writers added an amazing pun there? Because “Oreo” (said with the Italian pronunciation of course) actually sounds like “Oh Re, Oh”, and “Re” means King. They’re guarding the King’s castle, and they have the word King in their name. They’re saying “Oh King, Oh. Oh Kiiiiing Oh.” It’s perfect. (Especially because many jokes get lost when translating into another language, but there they added a whole new joke that couldn’t have been possible in English! It’s smart!!!)
It's also a reference to the guards to the castle of the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz. They march around in the exact same manner as the Oreo guards.
@Alpha_Runner3 According to the movie commentary the chant that the guards sing outside of the Witch's castle has no hidden meaning. According to the script, it says: “O-Ee-Yah! Eoh-Ah!”
That's taken from Sonic 1 ring lose animation, really. He's standing there, gets damaged and there's no transition, like Sonic 1, just Rings scattered all over the floor
One of the most powerful bits was king candy talking to Ralph after returning the medal because while it ended up being a lie it had so much truth behind it that it was believable. No matter how many times I see this movie her screams for someone to help her cut me so deep
Actually, it wasn't a lie. If the players didn't realize that Vanellope's glitching was her character ability, they would have through that she was a broken or incomplete character and that could possibly have caused Sugar Rush's plug to be pulled. Literally. Remember, the race track part around Died Cola Mountain was an unfinished track that was left in the game's code.
It's because they didn't rush it through some formulaic Disney assembly-line committee; the film was actually SHELVED for 10 years or so in production. It's sort of like Roger Rabbit for video-games, i.e. they wanted it to look authentic, using real video-game characters for background, while composites for the main characters, while also showing interaction with real-life people.
don't forget they also have a slight mention about triggers from PTSD because of the female and felix calling her a 'dynamite gal' as it sent flashbacks but also taught felix how to deal with the PTSD from her previous partner which felix was understanding about
(Very late reply lmao) I think the way they portrayed Calhoun's PTSD and triggers was really well done, especially for 2012. Early 2010s were a mess of edgy jokes and treating mental health like shit, so it's nice to see that they treated it seriously and showed a good example of how easily a trigger can be set off.
Lindsay Mead once again showing us that Disney still has it. From Bambi's mother, to Mufassa, to Hercules realizing he's too late to save Meg, to Tarzan finally getting accepted as a son by Kurchezch, to Jessie's flashback to Woody, Buzz and crew in the incinerator to even this Disney has found a way to not pull it's emotional punches. And seeing the evolution of how they deliver such moments is amazing
My eyes got wet even only watching it in this video, imagine in the real movie!:"-((( So damn powerful.(And it reminds me the scene in which Triton destroyes Ariel's human items...even if in that case I get sad but also angry because that was a real injustice!>________
even "knowing" he has to do it to save her it still hurts, there are few movies that get me right in the feels, that no matter how many times I see it I just start to tear up, even when it's just in a recap. This is one of those moments.
I remember the first time my 4 year old brother saw the scene where Ralph broke Venelope's car and he suddenly started crying(with literal tears and sobs).it took us nearly 40 minutes to convince him they're alright and they fix the car and become friends again
Another great Easter Egg: if you look carefully - especially during the ending - you'll see that Sugar Rush is plugged in next to one of the greatest arcade games ever: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Who else here remembers how 2 beat TMNT: The Arcade Game on 1 credit every time? (1) The Turtle Throw (performed by double-tapping Attack) is a guaranteed kill, but it has a "cool-down" period during which U can't perform another Turtle Throw, so always keep that in mind. (2) Don't mindlessly spam the Attack button all the time -- instead, time your attacks so they're spaced, preventing your opponent from counterattacking. (3) Don't overuse the "divebomb" flying kick -- some enemies can counter it, so only use it 2 knock down enemies when dealing w/ a mob. (4) The game spawns in enemies as U move from left 2 right, so the more quickly U progress the more enemies appear @ once. Moving slowly & cautiously "forward" allows U 2 reduce (but not eliminate) spawn-in, which makes fighting enemies more manageable. (5) Pick Donatello 4 the win -- his simple Bo has the longest reach, allowing U 2 hit most opponents while staying outside their striking range. OPTIONAL, 4 EXPERT PLAYERS ONLY: The longer U play TMNT w/o dying, the total enemies the game spawns in will increase as U progress from section 2 section within each game stage. If U make it all the way 2 the Technodrome stage on 1 life, the number of enemies you'll face can seem impossibly overwhelming! If U play a TMNT arcade machine set up so U get 2 or more lives per credit, U can "reset" this difficulty ramp-up function by letting your turtle die midgame, relying on your remaining life/lives 2 finish the game @ a *much* lower difficulty level (tho the ramp-up function isn't off; it just starts over from the lowest difficulty setting) ...BUT, if U manage 2 beat the entire game on a single life, you'll get a much higher score (which actually records how many successful killing blows U performed). Personal best: 402 points on 1 life, & I blew up the Technodrome.
I have fond memories of playing this with my friends in high school. Having four people to fill out the whole game was always a blast. (And we always fought over who would be Donnatello lmao)
The King Candy Boss yells "have some candy!" just like when he wasn't the boss, It's like using dialogue to telegraph their attacks as well as saying a line when attacking, sometimes all the time. (My personal favorite is at least 50% of the yo-kai in the yo-kai watch 2 games yelling "Like this?" before attacking) Also because of how games evolved over time Fix-it Felix and Wreck-it Ralph have extremely kid-friendly dialogue which would make sense as anything slightly inappropriate in those days would not be taken lightly. Hero's Duty is a newer game and so the characters have more adult language, one of the lines was almost swearing. (Bull-roar)
This is one of my all time favourite animated movie. Everything about it made me fall in love with it even more. Ralph and Vanellope's friendship, Felix and Calhoun ending up together, but what I also really like about it is that you can see Felix never hated Ralph like the rest. I was really glad that Felix went after Ralph and came to understand him more and become friends with him. From the beginning of the show I was thinking I really hope those two are friends, and the movie ended with them being friends and I was super happy
Ani-Gamer Studios probably young looking games. I don’t think the people in the arcade would know about indie games though, they’re usually on computers and consoles and not in arcades.
Tbh, this movie is my absolute favorite Disney movie. I love Moana, Zootopia, and Incredibles a LOT, but Wreck-it Wralph is just so real. Also Venellope is my giRL MAN
i personally think moana and zootopia are a bit overrated and get praised way too much but wreck it ralph is always better than the newest disney film. cant say much about the sequel though from first intakes on it its gonna be trash.
Fix-it Felix flirting is about the more hilarious thing in an animated movie ever. Everything about this movie is fantastic, and it was my favorite movie the year it came out. This and The Incredibles are two of my favorite animated movies ever.
Visual effects were pretty great but so was a lot of it. The characters and setting were obviously laboriously designed but they didn't spend the whole movie exhibiting all of it, they explained what was necessary for the plot and implied the rest and left a lot to the viewer's imagination, and you walk out of there thinking about that shit. So like, "North's" center is Wonder, Jack's is definitely Fun, what about the others? Jack used to be a mortal human, what about these other fucking guys? Picture North the merry Cossack man-child making toys for the children of his garrison.
The movie mainly focused on Jack, but yf you read the books, they explain the other Guardians' backstory. It's a children story so it's short and you can probably finish them all in a day. The series is still ongoing though.
3:43 And you know what makes it even more hilarious, is that he’s flirting with her while she’s pointing a gun into his face! I mean, how often do you ever see that in movies???
It's interesting to note that upon first meeting each other King Candy recognizes Ralph, but Ralph doesn't recognize King Candy. It's a nice little hint at the twist that you'll probably only catch on a re-watch.
I'm bad. And that's good! I will never be good and that's not bad... There's no one I'd rather be...than me. **sniff** Where did this lake come from? T_T
Dr. Bright O_O ... I don't know where the hell you came from, but I only have this profile picture for two reasons. (1) I like the game and (2) I like the face because it's freaking hilarious. My name isn't even called "Bendy the demon" or anything else that has to do with Bendy.
The line “The best part of my day, is when I get thrown off the roof.” is hilarious when out of context, also this movie is a fucking masterpiece and nobody can ever change that for me.
*Insert Name Here* * btw the term "bug" came from a literal bug. A lab was testing a computer with the vacuum tube processor and it wasn't working properly. They checked the tubes, there was a bug in one of them.
@@amehak1922 ... no, not quite. Vacuum tubes R sealed units, so the idea of a bug somehow working its way into 1 of those tubes is physically improbable -- if a vacuum tube wasn't sealed, it couldn't maintain a vacuum inside the tube. However, there is a documented instance of a moth (the literal "bug") accidentally getting caught in an electromechanical relay after it crawled into 1 of those huge, old OLD school computers. The "bug" caused a malfunction because, when the relay triggered, it bashed the bug 2 death. Then the bug's dead body ended up preventing the relay from closing the circuit properly. A report was written up explaining the mishap w/ the dead moth included as "evidence" along w/ the wry observation that this was "the first recorded instance of an actual 'bug' discovered to have caused an actual breakdown in a machine" ... which means that the practice of describing malfunctions as "bugs" didn't actually originate from this incident; it *predates* it.
@@amehak1922 ... true, but the legend of the bug-in-the-tube trips over a simple physical fact: if the "bug" in question found a hole large enuff 2 crawl thru & enter the vacuum tube ... that would mean the vacuum tube had already been "blown" (breached). The legend specifically implies that the "bug" somehow managed 2 crawl into the vacuum tube *without compromising the tube's vacuum containment seal* ... & that only after entering said vacuum tube did the "bug" trigger a malfuction by causing the vacuum tube 2 fail, which is highly implausible. It is far more plausible that this story of the bug-in-the-tube is nothing more than an urban legend, possibly based (however loosely) on real breakdowns that occurred in the early era of enormous electromechanical computers that relied on both vacuum tubes & relays.
No those are different guys. They started first and the guy who does CinemaWins is only inspired by them. This is a quote from the CinemaWins 'About' tab. "My channel is inspired by CinemaSins. I use a similar format specifically to be their opposite. In no way am I saying that their Sins videos are wrong or are anything but amazing and hilarious. This is just my spin on films that I think don't get the respect they deserve or are so good they need to be celebrated. Or more often, stupid crap that made me laugh and want to watch it again." ~CinemaWins
I just watched The Emoji Movie and it really drained me; so much so that I began to question if the films it was copying (Wreck-it Ralph, Inside Out, Lego Movie) were any good to begin with. Watching this I understood why Wreck-It Ralph is a good film and why the concept for this movie works for its story and why The Emoji Movie's concept of the world living in the phone doesn't. Thanks for restoring my optimism with this concept CinemaWins! Wins over Sins any day!
I like wins over sins way better! I feel like wins gives honest opinions and even takes away a win when it’s needed and then throughly explains why while sins just goes on about how a story doesn’t make sense and continues on with out explaining why or what he thinks could be better. To me it got old fast but I’ve been watching wins for a while now (just going through old videos lol)
Liam McKinnon Inside Out is my favorite Pixar/Disney movie of all time too. Wreck-it Ralph is pretty great too! Didn’t really see the LEGO Movie though, unless you’re talking about the ninja one (saw it in an airplane TV after my phone died).
Radiant_Fire I couldn’t agree more. One time I went over to a friends house to watch the movie and when that scene came on I left the room and waited for it to be over. I’m still pretty scared of that scene lol.
I already posted this story, but when I was a kid, I had at least one nightmare of Mario infected by the Cy-Bugs like Turbo. Also I distinctly remember that my brain perfectly recreated Charles Martinet saying “Oh no!” as Mario
Win: when did video games become so violent? Win #2: "You wouldn't hit a guy with glasses, would you?" "You hit a guy WITH glasses, well played." This movie is cuteness overload.
Mercinicus 2 I never said it blew my mind, it just never occurred to me having only watched the film with my girlfriend and then never really discussing it with anyone else, that anybody would find her annoying. We both found her incredibly delightful and it just didnt cross my mind that somebody would find her irritating. I don't think that makes you cynical at all, if she rubs you the wrong way then that's how it is, it's just a new and unexpected perspective to me thats all.
I exaggerate, I don't actually think it would blow your mind. But whether or not you like the character, I find it very easy to understand either liking or disliking her It doesn't seem like a clouded issue.
Mercinicus 2 it's not really an issue period. All I'm saying is it never before occurred to me that people would be irritated by her, I didn't see anything in her character that people would find potentially annoying. Turns out I was wrong. That's all.
Something I think you missed out on when describing the main three settings, is that that they are all based around a shape. Fix-It-Felix is based on squares Hero's Duty is based on triangles Sugar Rush is based on circles or other soft objects
"You might have thought going into this movie that the game references would be over the top; hopefully you realized, like I did, that they're just the icing on a well-told (if not completely cliche) story" If only this could have been said of Ready Player One
I listened to Wil Wheaton read it, I felt like he gave the main character a super whiny, obnoxious voice. There was also more description than action, a lot of telling and not showing, even for important events. Things like "I bought an apartment and hired security people. I got fat, so started exercising." You're not Hemmingway, paint me a picture!
Ready Player One was supposed to ooz pop culture and anything 80's related, the oasis is literally tens of thousands of video games within a video game created by a nut job obsessed with the 80's. I think they drove that point home.
they made that scene too well for it not to. but i have to say for me, breaking the car and her heart is even more powerful. its even hard writing this and thinking that.
The scene where they make the car is so heartwarming though... Ralph just assumes that because he took part in it, its ruined, but he did his best and it was the nicest thing anyone had ever done for her
I always found it awesome when the race had started that they would actually move the camera around in a way that you're about to start a race in Mario Kart. I hope I'm explaining that that well.
Yep, same here. Also excellent explanation. Mario Kart is one of my favourite games to play, especially if I need to let off some steam. It is pure chaos. :D
In one of the original tv series made about Sonic, they would have him and his pals demonstrate situations in which Sonic could tell kids life lessons. This happens after every episode of Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog as under-a-minute long segments called "Sonic Says". This might actually be a callback to that late 90's show! 2:01
Kids, there's nothing more cool than being hugged by someone you like, but if someone tries to touch you in a place or in a way that makes you feel uncomfortable, *that's no good!*
EMS Soul Knight Actually, in my opinion is that the sequel is an actually a pretty good film. Its basically what the Emoji movie tried to do, but done right.
Two Ralph sayings that has always and will always get me directly in the feels: 1.) "I'm bad and that's good, i will never be good and that's not bad. There's no one I'd rather be than me..." 2.) "Turns out I don't need a metal to tell me I'm a good guy. Cause if that one kid likes me...how bad can I be?"
The biggest win for me was just everything about Felix and Calhoun's relationship- it was such an adorable sub-plot and it was played so well by the actors!
King Candy: You wouldn’t hit a guy with glasses right? *Gets hit with glasses.* You hit a guy with his glasses. Well played. xD. My favorite part of the movie.
really? Your favorite part? Of the entire thing? Better than the self-acceptance/self-sacrifice speech at the end? Or the driving montage of Vanellope learning to race? Or Ralph destroying her kart? Your favorite part OF THE ENTIRE MOVIE was a pun mentioned in passing? Well I guess I can't argue it was pretty funny.
I think somebody on the writing staff had that joke in his back pocket for *years*, and kept trying to find a place to put it, but couldn't make it work naturally until this film.
2:15 Fun fact! The Nicelanders have the jerky, 8 bit feel to their moves is because the animators felt that for an older game that was made in an older time and everything was 8 bit, they felt it would be better fitting for the entire environment of Fix-It Felix Jr game to be "squared" The environment shows all sorts of squares to keep the 8 bit feel surrounding it all. (Source: DVD commentary) So yeah you kind of had the right idea of what the animators were going for!
@@yvonnesearle574and besides what thatrando said,a game can excuse itself for having jerky npc movements but not really with main character ones, and it fits since unlike the npc both those characters have way more interaction, therefore more frames and probably were made to be smoother
*sigh* You know, even as a kid there were movies which I loved that contained one sad scene that just hurt so much I always left the room or covered my eyes until it was over. I still aprecciated those movies and rewatched them countless times, but that one scene always soured the experience a little. Ralph crushing the car is that kind of scene.
Hm, only just now noticed, at 12:36 - Ralph is passing out, and starts to let go of Vanellope's medal, then wakes up enough to clutch on to it, as his final-final act.
I watched "Wreck-it-Ralph" for the first time about two weeks ago and loved it. I'm glad there's only 452 days until the release of "Ralph Breaks the Internet:Wreck-it-Ralph 2"
I absolutely love this movie. Its beautifully made and is filled to the brim with nostalgia for new and old players to enjoy. The voice acting is amazing, the message and plot are wonderful. I love how the colors set the mood of a scene. Like he said about the orange of the Out of Order sign giving a dusk feel ( 8:00 ), the scene where she gives Ralph the candy medal is perfect. This should be a heartstring tugging moment, but it ultimately is bittersweet for Ralph. He has to embrace his bad guy encoding to save his best friend. The colors of the scene are darker, grayer and less vibrant. As if a light was leaving his life.
There are ALL kinds of reasons I love this movie. At my age most animated movies, for me, tend to be predictable and... Well... Too sweet for my taste. Ironic that a movie primarily set in a Candyland setting didn't come off as overly sweet. The character development is fantastic as you really get to know all the main players and even the bad guy is understandable and relatable to some extent, which most movies have a generic bad guy for no other reason than the movie needs one, this one is a rare exception. I love the fact that although Turbo is the bad guy, almost all the characters in the movie show bad guy tendencies. Venelope was willing to steal to achieve her own ends, as was Ralph by going to a different game by stealing another character's identity due to the prejudice of the characters from his own game, and last Felix who started out trying to save his game only to fall back into anger and revenge... Fortunately (or unfortunately) for him the hammer that fixes and improves things puts the kibosh on that. Very well developed characters, story, music, and scene development. Awesome movie!!!
My fave detail (plus another win) is that when king candy/turbo becomes a cy-bug, he starts acting like a cliche boss and his attack patterns resembles one too!
Oh yeah, I love that song. I remember when this movie come out they'd always have that song playing in between shows on Disney Channel, so while my younger siblings were watching and that song came on during the commercial break I'd just ask them to turn up the volume xD
CinemaWins could you do a watchmen video its in my mind one of the best superhero movies and it gets to much hate and this channel is great at showing people the good
You can't convince me that Nintendo didn't create Sweet Sweet canyon in Mario Kart 8 completely inspired off of sugar rush. Come on, it's another wacky cart racer with a candy theme, if only sugar rush had some of the antigravity segments, and small parts of water, and air travel.

I'm gonna be honest, I'm a little mad that he didn't even mention just how purely awesome the reveal that King Candy/Turbo not only survived the bug eating him, but that it also made him much more powerful was, not to mention the awesome fight(can we call it a fight?) between him and Ralph.

Shinyshine AHHHHH

Don't forget he asks,"Are u coming brother?"just as they are about to leave the candy world. They became family😢😁

I never noticed!!!! And I love this movie, seen the sequel? Also 8:43, PUNS!!!!!!!!!
Also some good foreshadowing is when King Candy asks if Ralph is going turbo, but the other characters from the same game and Hero's Duty are too new to have even heard about Turbo.
I... never noticed that. That's genius.
Well, excluding Hero's duty which of course just plugged in, Sugar rush has been around slightly more longer than Hero's duty. So, they might learn a thing or 2 about turbo (Hence that Turbo is actually in the game as another character, but they didn't know it yet.)
@@phillipwalling7470 Doesn't Vanellope ask who Turbo is once his disguise is ripped away?
Pampered Aliens k fair point.
@@MrLegendofLP Also, remember that King Candy suppressed the memories of all of them so it's possible they don't remember well what happened to Turbo.
I felt like that bogged down Ready Player One
Well, thats what they got now for RBTI
They showed ryu or pacman or even sonic so rarely im a bit disappointed :/
The first movie: A villain in a video game doesn't want to be seen as a villain anymore.
The Second movie: Disney owns everything the movie
The second movie: a former video game villain who learns that you have to put your desire to be close to your best friend aside and help them to find their true calling even if it means letting go of them.
The third movie: Vanellope dies by making the mistake of going turbo into GTA.

yeah, I thought that the King Candy was the villain when I first saw the movie but then seriously reconsidered after his speech.

@@stormbreak7003 Can we agree that it's both a joke and a backstory callback?
I think it's a callback and a really cute and decent way to treat her PTSD.

I like how even Vanellopie acknowledges it by saying "I think it's an unfinished bonus level or something"

Zombiewithabowtie Ralph even quotes it himself, "I don't make things, I break things."
Shoot stop shining too bright I never thought of that
Zombiewithabowtie damn. Never noticed that.

The biggest trouble was all the various games companies insisting that THEIR villain should be bigger than the other. In the end Disney made all the main villains in the therapy session the exact same height
Not exactly. Copyright works a lot different for movies than in youtube videos. Especially for big companies like Disney.

"WELCOME TO THE BOSS LEVEL!"
Heck, we were tricked into thinking this guy was dead twice now.

I’m glad I didn’t watch that one. Was spoiled of something that made me not want to watch it and just treat this one as a stand-alone.
These monsters become what they eat!" -Calhoun
Before Turbo got eaten by the same bug ralph bought to Sugar rush, he was screaming as if he never expected the bug to attack him. In fact, he didn't expect it at all.
So, it would make no sense that Turbo got used to his bug form within minutes even if he's alive.
In conclusion: The bug becomes Turbo, not Turbo taking over the bug.
@@phillipwalling7470 I know this is very late to the party, but another line that shows that the cy-bug became turbo is that when he got transformed, he says " I can take over any game I want!" which is then followed by " I should thank you, but it'd be more fun to kill you!"
This indicates that the cy-bug's desire to kill and multiply from "eat, kill multiply" got integrated into his code.
This was referenced in a simpsons episode once
I thought it was just because it sounded like "All we own, we owe"
It's also a reference to the guards to the castle of the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz. They march around in the exact same manner as the Oreo guards.

But at the time, it wasn't a character ability.
She didn't have control over it yet

SpicyPepperón except that the Nicelanders are such dicks.
I guess it's in their code...;-[ (and...IRONY must be in their code as well, given their name!)
Disney's had some great animated films in recent years. Key words: John Lasseter.

don't forget they also have a slight mention about triggers from PTSD because of the female and felix calling her a 'dynamite gal' as it sent flashbacks but also taught felix how to deal with the PTSD from her previous partner which felix was understanding about
The woman's name is Sergeant Tamora Jean Calhoun
As a PTSD person, I love the representation and understanding
(Very late reply lmao) I think the way they portrayed Calhoun's PTSD and triggers was really well done, especially for 2012.
Early 2010s were a mess of edgy jokes and treating mental health like shit, so it's nice to see that they treated it seriously and showed a good example of how easily a trigger can be set off.

Another great Easter Egg: if you look carefully - especially during the ending - you'll see that Sugar Rush is plugged in next to one of the greatest arcade games ever: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Greatest video game? Erm, what about the TV animations, films (and other what-nots I've forgotten).
OPTIONAL, 4 EXPERT PLAYERS ONLY:
The longer U play TMNT w/o dying, the total enemies the game spawns in will increase as U progress from section 2 section within each game stage. If U make it all the way 2 the Technodrome stage on 1 life, the number of enemies you'll face can seem impossibly overwhelming!
If U play a TMNT arcade machine set up so U get 2 or more lives per credit, U can "reset" this difficulty ramp-up function by letting your turtle die midgame, relying on your remaining life/lives 2 finish the game @ a *much* lower difficulty level (tho the ramp-up function isn't off; it just starts over from the lowest difficulty setting)
...BUT, if U manage 2 beat the entire game on a single life, you'll get a much higher score (which actually records how many successful killing blows U performed).
Personal best: 402 points on 1 life, & I blew up the Technodrome.

Also because of how games evolved over time Fix-it Felix and Wreck-it Ralph have extremely kid-friendly dialogue which would make sense as anything slightly inappropriate in those days would not be taken lightly. The characters and setting were obviously laboriously designed but they didn't spend the whole movie exhibiting all of it, they explained what was necessary for the plot and implied the rest and left a lot to the viewer's imagination, and you walk out of there thinking about that shit. There’s a “bug” in the Sugar Rush game
Nice one, Disney.
@@zenkim6709 bugs can fit in some very small holes.
@@zenkim6709 you're assuming that industrial machines back then were as good at making vacuums and precise, etc as they are now. They weren't.
Dear Cinemawins. Thank you for being such a positive in an increasingly negative environment. Every one of your videos make me smile.
he also has cinemasins wich is everythintg bad about a movie
No those are different guys. They started first and the guy who does CinemaWins is only inspired by them. This is a quote from the CinemaWins 'About' tab.
"My channel is inspired by CinemaSins. I use a similar format specifically to be their opposite. In no way am I saying that their Sins videos are wrong or are anything but amazing and hilarious. This is just my spin on films that I think don't get the respect they deserve or are so good they need to be celebrated. Or more often, stupid crap that made me laugh and want to watch it again." ~CinemaWins
no, that isnt his channel. he started this one to counter cinemasins
I feel like I'm the only one who actually enjoyed the Emoji Movie :/ am I weird?
Yasmin LetsPlay I wouldn’t say your weird no but that movie was a cash grab at best!
Liam McKinnon
Inside Out is my favorite Pixar/Disney movie of all time too. Wreck-it Ralph is pretty great too! Didn’t really see the LEGO Movie though, unless you’re talking about the ninja one (saw it in an airplane TV after my phone died).
The only thing I like about Cinemasins is the audio outtakes at the end of almost every video.
When Turbo became the full virus, I became terrified. He actually became terrifying to me. He was scary.
Radiant_Fire I agree. Still can't watch that scene without genuinely getting scared
Me too. I am 31 years old.
Win #2:
"You wouldn't hit a guy with glasses, would you?"
"You hit a guy WITH glasses, well played."
This movie is cuteness overload.
People found Venelope annoying? What? I mean.. I consider myself fairly cold and cynical an I found her painfully cute.
Does it really blow your mind that people might find her annoying?
Or am I being to cynical of you?
Mercinicus 2 I never said it blew my mind, it just never occurred to me having only watched the film with my girlfriend and then never really discussing it with anyone else, that anybody would find her annoying. We both found her incredibly delightful and it just didnt cross my mind that somebody would find her irritating. I don't think that makes you cynical at all, if she rubs you the wrong way then that's how it is, it's just a new and unexpected perspective to me thats all.
I want to know who found her annoying as well. She was a joy and brought a little sunshine in my otherwise dark soul
I exaggerate, I don't actually think it would blow your mind. But whether or not you like the character,
I find it very easy to understand either liking or disliking her It doesn't seem like a clouded issue.
Mercinicus 2 it's not really an issue period. All I'm saying is it never before occurred to me that people would be irritated by her, I didn't see anything in her character that people would find potentially annoying. Turns out I was wrong. That's all.
the "oreo" part always cracks me up. Great reference to Wizard of Oz.
YES!!!!! ;P
*Dark Side of the Moon
Wait a second...
THERE'S NO CINEMA SINS ON WRECK IT RALPH?!
That is truly a cinematic win.
DE P im pretty sure cinema sins would give it more than 100 sins anyways
*DING*
Valerie Huin why? O;
True. Some movies have to stay pure as God intended. Cinemasins just makes me angry. Cinemawins makes everything better.
Jordan Sweet i like them both
Another win: Even though ralph is the hero, they kept the typical videogame and movie cliche that the good guy(FixIt Felix) gets the girl in the end
Except the good guy is a naive handyman with a magic hammer and the girl is a tough as nails space marine sergeant. Beautiful
Something I think you missed out on when describing the main three settings, is that that they are all based around a shape.
Fix-It-Felix is based on squares
Hero's Duty is based on triangles
Sugar Rush is based on circles or other soft objects
Yeah
Sorry, but I don't recall so many triangles in Hero's Duty.
Ever heard of a Three-Dimensional polygon, Ninja ?
@@thehiddenninja3428 Look at the windows at the tower. All triangles
@@Firepal3D You could say the same about Sugar Rush.
"You might have thought going into this movie that the game references would be over the top; hopefully you realized, like I did, that they're just the icing on a well-told (if not completely cliche) story"
If only this could have been said of Ready Player One
Cinnamon what?
The Ready Player One movie was.....an interesting experience. I've never read the book but the movie made me cringe to hell and back lmao
Jar Cat Read the book then you will be grateful for all the changes (ex the gates and challenges) they made.
I even teared up at the self sacrifice scene during this review, it legit gets me every time
Koopa368 same
*+*
Same you aren't the only one
they made that scene too well for it not to. but i have to say for me, breaking the car and her heart is even more powerful. its even hard writing this and thinking that.
those scenes still get me even after multiple watchings
The scene where they make the car is so heartwarming though... Ralph just assumes that because he took part in it, its ruined, but he did his best and it was the nicest thing anyone had ever done for her
I always found it awesome when the race had started that they would actually move the camera around in a way that you're about to start a race in Mario Kart. I hope I'm explaining that that well.
explained perfectly, i love that detail!
Actually, it's 1:54

EMS Soul Knight Actually, in my opinion is that the sequel is an actually a pretty good film. Its basically what the Emoji movie tried to do, but done right.
Two Ralph sayings that has always and will always get me directly in the feels:
1.) "I'm bad and that's good, i will never be good and that's not bad. There's no one I'd rather be than me..."
2.) "Turns out I don't need a metal to tell me I'm a good guy. Cause if that one kid likes me...how bad can I be?"
Not gonna lie I'm 19 and still cried when he sacrificed himself
He didn't sacrifice himself. It was a fake-out death.
I definitely cried when Ralph broke Vanellopes cart.
I'm 22 and i still cry every time.
Pussaayy!
I'm hard to make cry, but I got really sad at that moment... Actually, almost any emotional moment

You forgot one Win Counter and that Ralph realizes that his wrecking may have been a good thing the whole time (When they were making the car)
The biggest win for me was just everything about Felix and Calhoun's relationship- it was such an adorable sub-plot and it was played so well by the actors!
My favorite Disney movie and one of my suggestions getting used. That's not a win. That's two wins.

Same
All the Sonic references in this movie got me wondering if Disney is planning on buying Sega and getting rights to Sonic.
@@typo1345 why would they do that? And what does that have to do with anything?
I admit it every time I see Sonic The Hedgehog, Dr Eggman/Robotnik, Bowser and when Felix motions Mario's name, I cry of joy. No joke
The Crazy Gamer Your not the only one
We are so close to each other
I'm a Sonic the Hedgehog fanboy at this point, so yeah I feel ya.
I just love how fix it Felix was like a country boy and just his accent was just hilarious XD
He's basically a cartoon version of the same actor's character on 30 Rock, who is also a hayseed pollyanna type
"I don't have to do boo - forgive my potty mouth" has to be my favourite line of his.
Autumn Awal wait my dvd didnt have commentary
But what about Felix and Ralph? They’re not jerky and 8-bit
@@yvonnesearle574 Because they're the main characters. It is a cool idea for side characters, but would get really annoying for the main characters.
Duuuuuude don't choke me up more....
I will always love it when she says "Doomsday and Armageddon just had a baby and it is UGLY"
I watched "Wreck-it-Ralph" for the first time about two weeks ago and loved it. I'm glad there's only 452 days until the release of
"Ralph Breaks the Internet:Wreck-it-Ralph 2"
Ivan Walters wow
w h a t same, I watched it the other day and would be excited for the second one if Disney weren't terrible at sequels.
I hope they end up in "Sonic Boom." that'll wld b hilarious
Hopefully the sequel is as good as monsters university
killer Games and more Ik that’s what I meant my bad

Well that's a Win. **DING**
My fave detail (plus another win) is that when king candy/turbo becomes a cy-bug, he starts acting like a cliche boss and his attack patterns resembles one too!
Oh my god we need a tv series where Ralph goes into video games and helps villains accept themselves
"As long as they find something for Alan Tudyk to do, I'm good."
Oh they did. He plays Mr. Knowsmore in Ralph Breaks the Internet.
HE DIDDD
I love the fact that sometimes he just tries to stay positive even in messed up parts.
I can't believe he forgot to win "Vanellope's first kiss was with a car tire"
