Fun fact: for the scene when Bowser is drinking tea, Nintendo sent Disney express and detailed instructions on how Bowser would hold a teacup.

The Turbo twist was so obvious but I never saw it coming. This film is utter genius
I know right? Like so much foreshadowing and I didn’t expect it either!
Right? The second you see the reveal, you're like "Oh my god, of *course!*" because the signs were all there haha.
King Candy was a villain who not only showed his true colors but his true identity
The one good Disney twist villain: obvious in retrospect, but somehow not suspected on first watch
@@qrowingthat’s called a good twist. When things add up and you can rewatch it and catch things that were always there but didn’t seem significant until after the reveal
"I'm bad- and that's good. I will never be good and that's not bad. There's no one I'd rather be....than me." Every time hearing Ralph say that line while falling just breaks me.
@@user-sv1jz5me3z what the fuck
what gets to me much more, is the moment, when he smashes the cart.... the selfloathing he must feel in that moment.....
@@Metzwerg74 to each their own. I have known others who think that was more heart breaking than Ralph's speech. Every scene can speak to someone differently than others. C:
@@Skrulzie indeed...
Felix a certified chad for getting the commander, also the last quote from Ralph "If that little girl can like me, how bad can I be" 😢
That line gets me too. One little thing I wish they had added into the movie. While Ralph is falling and says the Bad Guy affirmation, I wish he had just, quietly, said, "I'm gonna wreck it." Showing how he was using what he saw as his worst trait to do something good.
The Lorax ruined this line for me
I think there's a similar line in Shrek 3 that always hit me hard, when the cyclops talks about his daughter.
"If that little girl can love me, how much of a monster can I be?"
I used to work in an electronics store that had a bunch of display TVs which played a loop of Disney/Pixar movies, since they were PG and displayed the TVs well, so we saw Wreck it Ralph hundreds of times. The guy who lives in the Penthouse of Ralph's building is named Gene. He's the biggest asshole in the movie. Treats Ralph like shit and drives him away, then blames him for leaving... everyone hated Gene so much that we literally started labelling all problem customers as Gene's. "Ugh, had a guy come in with a return earlier today... total Gene, all the way, just wouldn't stop whining."
Interesting point someone else, ina another thread mentioned about Gene. Yes he is a total dick to Ralph, but there was a reason for it. At the opening of every game, probably every level, Ralph punches through Gene's apartment, grabs him and chucks him. As much as Ralph hates being the bad guy, I imagine that Gene hates getting yeeted like a dog toy 20+ times a day. Doesn't excuse him, but makes it understandable why it's personal with him.
P.S. Love the codename for crappy customers like that.
As someone who works in a customer service role and just dealt with multiple Genes in a day, I adore this
Lol, that is so funny.
LMFAO I'm deceased 🤣
I know right? I wanted to call Gene out all movie and tell him off for being such a dick.
My theory as to why Ralph never saw Vanellope on the side of the Sugar Rush game is that he was basically at the bottom of his game. Being in the penthouse probably means he's able to see it as he's higher up.
Btw, i love this movie and thanks for reacting to it!
Well they stand on the roof before yeeting him off so he's up there every time a player wins the game but perhaps he wasn't taking in the sights before sinds he wasn't happy.
Tbf, even if he did see it he wouldn’t have any reason to commit it to memory since that's not his game
He had no reason before that to look at it, and even if he did he also had no reason to take in a detail like that, because all he ever thought about was how he never got the recognition he actually deserved; being on the roof all the time is why he always had the chance to see it but didn’t really bother to care for it since he was already sort of depressed with his situation
Yeah I would definitely notice my friend more than some random kid lol
@@PizzaHutCEOYea i was just gonna say it was just some random girl from before so he had no reason to think about it, now she his friend it makes sense he notices now.
The marine lady's backstory is extra tragic when you remember that cybugs turn into whatever they eat, so she had to kill her husband on her wedding day
Damn! That's probably what she was seeing when the camera cuts to her and she's screaming and crying while shooting. She just looks so traumatized and devastated, that explains a lot.
Tamora Calhoun
The scene where Ralph destroys the cart *just* as he's starting to see himself as something other than a destroyer makes me tear up every time. You can see how much he hates himself through every second.
Yeah, also it gets me every time how heartbroken Vanellope is in that scene.
This film is so amazing because it has genuine character development. This is not a movie about plot, but instead characters accepting the circumstances of life that they are dealt with. Very relatable and very emotional and engaging.
9:53 Arcade owner knows it's Ralph's game, even thinks of him before Felix.
Wow i never noticed that
When King Candy explains to Ralph what will happen if Vanellope races (around 27:50), it shows her panicking and pounding the force field trying to get out of the game. But at 36:12, Vanellope's actual reaction to her impending doom is basically the opposite.
Fun little Easter egg: the bug that scared Markowski in Tapper's was actually Hal the Roach, the little companion who kept WALL-E company on polluted Earth.
Best plot twist I ever saw in a Disney movie! A true jaw-dropper!
Agree
Take notes from Turbo, Prince Hans: _This_ is how you do a twist villain *_right!_*
@@BloodyBay Yes, all the hints are all obvious but we can't see it in first watch, goated movie
The moment you said “If you’d just let him have a bit of cake, we all wouldn’t be in this situation, would we?”, life made a lot more sense.
Fun fact: most of the movie's budget was not from the animation, but getting the licensing for the characters.
I love Felix, he really did try his best to be nice to Ralph and tried to get the neighbors to be nicer too
I still get so annoyed when Calhoun asks him why Ralph would go AWOL and he has the audacity to say he had no idea, glad he improves by the end of the film though!
@@ruseruser2227 Man's was not too bright, but at least he tried😂
Ralph always spreads chaos, causes mayhem, and eventually breaks the internet!
"Wreck-It Ralph 2" followed the path of most sequels, a pale shadow, if not many times worse, than the original.
We don't talk about the sequel. Heck, I have my own idea that could have beena bit better without the meta-mess
Wreck it Ralph was soo freakishly Good
Ralph doesn't asked to be the bad guy, All he ever wanted is to be accepted and to have respect since he's a part of the game
Action will always have consequences
wreck it ralph: acceptance
the sequel: i can do whatever the fuck i wanna do and the world must follow my demand, Venellope went Turbo and supposed to be Turbo.
the third should be she is being hunted down for being a malware in another game for ruining the online game.

Because of the resurgence of Ralph due to his actions of the second movie, they should make a new game featuring Wreck It Ralph as a good guy, kind of how Donkey Kong got his own games. And Ralph has to deal with a hero version of him around the arcade when he is, technically, still the bad guy. And make the good guy Ralph seem like a nice guy to everyone, but is an arrogant twat to bad guy Ralph.
Ralph was technically not a bad bad guy. His stump got moved and he was angry. They didn't make sure that someone was living in it. Anyone would get back at the people for relocate their home. FYI you can give yourself a thumbs up.
@@begobolehsjwjangan2359bro shut up
"Why do animation films get to me?"
I have a theory.
When we watch a movie, one of the essential things going on is the willing suspension of disbelief. We know that what we are seeing isn't real. It's just 24 images projected on a screen twice each per second. But our brain shuts down disbelief. If anything jogs us out of that suspension, the movie or show stops being effective. If you've ever said something in a movie "took you right out of it", that's what you're talking about. It kicked you out of that willing disbelief.
It allows you to be open to the story experience.
This suspension is less when you're watching live action, and less with actual footage. You know it's a recording, but it is of real people, so your brain doesn't have to work so hard to suspend disbelief. But with animation, your brain has to be even more opened and willing to go along with it.
When we are more open we are also more susceptible to influence. When an emotional chord is struct on animation, your defenses are already down so much more than with a live action that it pierces you deep.
Combined with this, animation is such an involved artistic creation. Everything has to be created from scratch (visually, auditory, etc). They work and and write the whole story, drawing story boards along with it, able to see essentially a version of the end product through the whole production. They control everything, so the can make it all work together.
When done right, animation is pique cinema.
It's the tragic story as the bugs (which a nod to alien films) consumed they inherit the traits of those they consumed. See it with the candy, inherited color scheme and even with turbo. So when the fiance was eaten ol girl had to not only see her husband die and be eaten she had to kill the bug that took on his appearance and characteristics.
That is fucking tragic tho.
@@SusanaCanales1Yeah, the devs didn't need to go that hard with her backstory, but when they decided to do it, they didn't let go of the pedal.
I always imagined that by the end of the game, only the player and Calhoun would be left against the last boss: her bug husband.
She hesitates for the first time, and is defeated, leaving the player to fight husband bug alone.
@@collymorpheous8575that would explain why that soldier is so traumatized (although fighting giant bugs is traumatic already) he has to die every time someone plays the game
You know its a well paced story when as soon as she asks "What about Ralphs game Fix It Felix?" then cuts to a scene showing whats going on there
37:17 The fact that, while embracing the fact that he was made to be a villain, he falls with his fist forward like a superhero and looks at the medal that Vanelope gave him just one last time.
*”He’s the real glitch!”*
*”No, HE’S TURBO!”*
One of the rare films that I turned on and watched it again as soon as I was finished. We'll watch it regularly and it does not get old. It's possibly my favorite Disney animated film.
It IS Sue Sylvester. Jane Lynch is fantastic.
Also Sarah Silverman did such a good job with Vanellope, that scream when Ralph smashed her car was soul crushing.
It really surprised me on how much I enjoyed the movie. Plus, it brought back the early arcade days of the early 80s and even playing Atari etc.
I’ve loved this film ever since I was kid. But I love it even more now as an adult. It’s such an unapologetic love letter to video games. It doesn’t need to rely on lots of extortionate product placement as the only source of endearment. It’s there of course but it all takes a backseat to the original story and characters from the fictional games that exist within this world. Ralph and Vanellope are such a wonderfully endearing duo in their good times and bad times. Their break up scene is one of the very few second act break ups that doesn’t make me want to break my monitor, which is quite an achievement. Unironically, this is one of my favourite films ever.
Word of advice though, if you like this film in any way, don’t ever watch the second movie. It completely invalidates this one in every conceivable way.
In college, I saw this movie with a couple friends. Every time one of our other friends said they hadn’t seen it, we’d all go. I ended up seeing this movie 5 times in theaters because of friends who hadn’t seen it lol. It was amazing!
If you haven’t seen Atlantis and Treasure Planet, they are critically underrated and worth the watch! I hope you react to them.
Seriously so much hate for Ralph he's been branded as the villain and yet the Nicelanders moved his stump and relocated him to the dump and placed their apartment complex where he used to live
According to the original manual of Donkey Kong, Jump Man was a abusive animal trainer and DK escaped and grabbed Pauline as revenge.
@@TheJabbate1 yeah that's accurate original Mario was a bad guy
Honestly, I'm completely with you, I saw this movie in the theatres and it made me cry especially the part at the end when he pushes off Turbo/King Candy to break the Mentos barrier and says his famous line "I'm bad- and that's good. I will never be good and that's not bad. There's no one I'd rather be....than me." It was one of the few animated movies that I really cried hard on.
The nicelanders really piss me off. First they treat Ralph like trash and then 'Oh surprise!', they see the repercutions of their actions.
Ralph was right. He is even more important that all of the nicelanders together because without him the game doesn't work, unlike with them.
Also, in the party at the beginning the DJ is Skrillex, he asked to appear in the movie because he made the song of when Ralph gets into a play of Heroe's duty.
I love the boba fett gaming chair
Another thing is that when ralph asked what flavor his figure was in, one of the nicelanders said chocolate, and ralph said he didn't like chocolate. But when he lands in the chocolate pond after being saved he says he loves chocolate. This message can be taken several ways
For other animated films, I recommend these stand-outs from Pixar:
- Monsters, Inc. (2001)
- Finding Nemo (2003)
and its sequel, Finding Dory (2016)
- WALL-E (2008)
Walle and Up are my 2 favorite pixar movies
I can't believe you listed stand-outs without Toy Story O:
@@FatLittleButterfly I personally am not a big fan of the Toy Story franchise. Too pedestrian for me, I think. 🤷♂
As well as Wreck It Ralph 2 🔥
I vouch for Monsters Inc. it's a certified classic.

That rhymes! And a brilliant comparison!😃

How did I never catch the children of the corn joke before
"You hit a guy WITH glasses" 😅😅😅
This means you're not ready for "Ralph Breaks the internet" either.
This is one of my all time favorite movies but I still can’t forgive them for not explaining Ralph’s chocolate hate if he’s never had any cake to know if he hates chocolate
I remember hearing people crying in the theater when me and my family saw this in theaters when I was like 8
He didn’t see the side of the machine I assume because he needed to be in the penthouse high enough to see it
Yep, the licensing for this movie was a nightmare to say the least, as everyone involved wanted their characters to be shown in the proper way. As you can probably guess, Nintendo was one of the biggest headaches(or so it was reported), but in the end, it was great to see so many icons in the same film. Roger Rabbit was a similar situation, but I don't think that went as well, since we never saw a part 2.
Hi Alyce, you are right, that voice IS Jane Lynch!🙂Great reactions to this very fun computer game film, Alyce!!!!🎬👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
This movie gets me every time. All the feels.
Wolf children and Igor are two must see animated films.
Shame you left out the guy with glasses joke, I laughed out loud at that.
This movie was legitimately unique and incredible! Every part of the plot was tied together so neatly, even with the Turbo plot twist at the end, it just made perfect sense! Then they had to go and ruin everything with the second movie lmao. Do yourself a favour and never watch Ralph Breaks The Internet, it'll ruin the first movie for you. 😂
To me, the movie is also based on ableism. I was the first and only student in my school who had epilepsy. The kids made fun of me and didn't want to go near me. The teachers were scared of my seizures and kicked me out of their classes so I wouldn't cause any problems. The principal tried to expel me, but I was too well behaved.
That's actually very sad. Like no way these teachers actually treated you like that. Some people nowadays need to be more understanding towards others. 🙄
I'm pretty sure the school I went to is fine now. This happened back in the 90's. Back when the school had special books that taught the teachers how to take care of disabled children that were written in the 70's. For some reason, the 70's didn't believe seizures was a disability, so the school had no idea how to take care of me.
@@kittycatmeowmeow963 Ohhh that does make sense. I've witnessed other kids making fun of people with epilepsy, which still sucks to hear. 💔
This movie definitely deserves the title of film
This remains one of my all time favorite Disney movies for a reason. Your heartfelt reactions brought all those emotions back. I saw it in theatres multiple times. The ending song by Owl City one of my favorite artists was just a cherry on top of the cake. I'd never seen a movie that felt so made for me before or since. Well, I haven't seen the Barbie movie yet and I'm also a huge Barbie fan, so lets see if it keeps or looses that crown. ;)
If you haven't seen it yet, The Emperor's New Grove
This is one of my all-time favourite Disney Films
Some other very good animated films are: Ice Age (first one best), Monsters Inc 1 + 2, Toy Story's, Shrek's, Robots, Megamind, Finding Nemo, Kung Fu Panda 1 + 2, A Bugs Life. All those are great animated films and are ranked in the top animated films so far.

When vanellope joked about the sugar rush racers being executed , hey now they are just kids and their memories were erased by king candy a.k.a turbo from the beginning so it was not their fault that they did not know or remember that vanellope was a princess of sugar rush and was mean to her and bullied her .
They still could've been nice to her. I didn't like it when kids bullied me and refused to go near me because I was the only one at school who had epilepsy.
Still could have just been nice to her
