This is how I feel when I visit Denmark as a Norwegian. 60% of the time I don't understand what their saying. Even people with terrible English is easier to understand. It's super strange because written Danish looks 99% Norwegian. Still easier to understand people who speak swedish, but swedish is worse to read.

You'll be pleased to know we feel exactly the same about Norwegian.

im from sweden and according to me are both danish and norwegian relatively easy to read, but danish is not at all understandable verbally, though norwegian is completely fine, most of the time

Det er et spørgsmål om øvelse. Jeg er i Norge et par gange om året og synes, det er let at forstå. Jeg taler også altid dansk i Norge. Jeg elsker Norge 🤗

True, but Bokmål is a varient of Danish from the Danish elite living in Norway. That was forced upon Norwegians when Norway was a Danish colony, or union as it is still called, so every Norwegian knows written Danish some-what.

    Im danish 🤣🤣👌
Hahahah this parody is okay funny ✌🤣
But those whom made this, should have choosen to use a dialect we Danes call "Jysk". That would have been even better mockery of Our Danish Language 🤣🤣

Maybe to you, but to a Norwegian Jysk is actually easier to understand. At least their numbers are right: "femtifem", not "femoghalvtres".

WTF is this (funny stuff) 🙂 I'm danish and could only here one danish sentence in this english/gibberish. And what is "Ut I Vår Hage"? Definitely not danish. It may mean "out in our garden" which is "Ud i vor have" in danish.

It is an old Norwegian comedy series.
The thing is that Scandinavian Languages and Dialects are so similar, but sometimes it is impossible to understand each other. The joke is that Danish is at times so hard for Norwegians to understand, but the Danes also have problems understanding each other. But you probably got that as you as a Dane found it funny.

Ironically I showed the clip to a Finlander, she didn’t even smile and commented at the end that the characters weren’t even speaking real Danish…😂🤣😂
