Really enjoy your local videos on the area around Chattanooga. 18 months ago we moved to the Chattanooga Valley from Ohio and your videos have helped educate us on things to do in the area.
I flew the drone near that island and saw people there. Didn't know you could camp there. What an quick, easy was to escape and recharge. And it actually sounds pretty quiet too. Thought there would be more noise pollution.
I have crossed over that island for years. Never knew you could camp there! That is a cool little getaway! Loved all the gorgeous shots of downtown by drone, your music, and the cute tuk tuk.
Thanks so much, Kathy! Definitely give camping a try there. It was so much fun to have the whole place to ourselves and just watch boats go by during sunrise and sunset!
@@chrisandsara it was an awesome experience! Idk about paradise since it was for the Boy Scouts and we had to kayak a few miles out to the island with all the supplies needed for 5 days. No showers just the ocean so sleeping in a tent with teenagers not showering after being outside all day was not fun lol so the last day I slept under the stars on the sand and that was my favorite moment. We got to catch our own fish to ate as well. Such a unique experience that I would recommend. Felt like I was on Survivor for the week. Florida Sea Base if anyone is interested.
Guys, you had us at the thumbnail! We love the tuk tuk! 💛 Well done camping locally, what great fun! We can camped under one of those Chattanooga Bridges & can relate to the sound.
Fun video! We’ve seen the island but never knew! Publix sandwiches are the bomb! When we were visiting last I told John look out for the yellow Tuk Tuk..it will be Chris & Sara 😂! Great video guys thanks for taking us along! ~Cara 😊
As a native Chattanoogan I must say I had no idea that you could camp on the island I thought the only visitations was using the ducks lol.Have you ever looked at the overnight sleep at the Tennessee aquarium? Also the beautiful shot of lookout mountain With the cloud cover was amazing, actuly I get to enjoy those myself as my parents live in wildwood at the base of the mountain. by the way if I ever see your tuk tuk out on the road I may have to chase you down to say hello😊. Can't wait for your next traveling vlog......
Hi Don! Highly recommend checking out the island if you ever get the chance! Rent or borrow a kayak or canoe and head over, even just for the afternoon if camping isn't your thing! The island is fun to swim around in the summer and is usually not too busy. I had no idea you could camp in the aquarium, but I'm going to look that up now! Thanks for watching! :)
I've seen photo's of the island from maybe the late 1930's or early 1940's. At that time the center was cleared and appeard to be regularly mowed for hay while tree's dotted the permiter and provided some resistance to erosion control.
Your travel videos are wonderful, it is always fun to see those places through your eyes. However…I love seeing stuff about the Noog. We were there just last night at the Soldiers and Sailors Auditorium for our granddaughter’s graduation. Maybe sometime you could do a video on that building and it’s history. We have family that have memories of it being boarded up!
Thanks so much for watching, Kathy! It's always special to get to share snippets from our hometown. :) It's been years since I've visited the Soldiers and Sailors Auditorium and Chris never has! We need to make a stop there soon.
Hahahha! I didn't even think that it would look like a coffee truck that wasn't supposed to be driven through! It's actually a drive though coffee hut though. 😂 I promise!! lol
Trash, Right? Do ya'll remember the public service campaign/commercials "Tennessee trash messing up the highways." Probably not, it was from the late 70's but it was a catchy jingle, I can still hear it in my head. It may be here on YT .
Probably by now you'd figured out the lever for the reverse it's the thing sticking out under the dash area it's like an emergency brake lever and the one long stick lever beside the driver's seat is the manual starter if the starter switch fails and the clutch is to realise it slowly while applying the accelerator also gentle not too much try balancing both the realise of the clutch and applying the gas pedal gently feel the slowly movement of the vehicle and as you go apply more gas to it, it's like driving an actual car
You guys!!! Now we HAVE to come visit.... I want to camp on the cute island!! My dream has always been to own a private island, this may be as close as I'll get. :) Excited to see what your summer holds; ours is starting with a road trip next week.
Fun video! This looks like something we'd absolutely love. We wish we had gotten an email about the raccoon population at Cape Lookout camp ground in Oregon 😅, we were robbed by racoons in the night!
Oh no!! Those raccoons are natures bandits, for sure! They have no fear of humans either. They're adorable but can wreak havoc on a campground. 😅 So glad y'all enjoyed the video! I

I've been curious about that island since moving to Chattanooga but never looked into it, very cool 🙌
Go check it out! It's a beautiful little island and is fun to paddle to then swim from the island in the summer!
@@chrisandsara I will check it out and if you two ever want to explore Roller Skating around Chatt or at the rink as an adventure let me 🙌
What a cool in-town adventure!
Y'all come visit and we'll all take the tuk camping!
Trying to set the coffee box up 😂😂
😅 I tried... lol
I camped on an island in the Florida Keys once and it was an amazing experience. Thanks for sharing your adventures around your home town!
Oh wow! An island in the Florida Keys?? That sounds like paradise!

Y'all better try to get our attention if you see us in the tuk tuk! We really want to meet y'all and say hi in person one day. :)
@@chrisandsara ha! I was thinking if we saw you while in the canoe I’d be the crazy lady jumping up & down waving my arms on the bank 😂😂😂

Could you share the outfitter you rented the canoe from?
Yes! The man's name is Shaun and he was great! Very punctual and nice. Scenic City Safari: (423) 653-4845
Your tuk tuk is so cute
Thank you! We love it! :)
This place looked awesome - I’d have felt like Robinson Crusoe!
YES! I felt a bit like Huck Finn on the Mississippi. :)
Ate Pub subs today for the first time since being back and so glad we did or else we would have had to make a Publix run.
Publix is the beeeeest! We always miss it when we're traveling! lol
Is there a place to stealth car camp in Chattanooga?
No
Y’all turned the coffee truck into a drive thru! 😂 the tuk tuk is a head turner!
Hahahha! I didn't even think that it would look like a coffee truck that wasn't supposed to be driven through! It's actually a drive though coffee hut though. 😂 I promise!! lol
Hoo cool 😎😀

Another great secret of our little city.
So many little hidden gems here! We had no idea you could even camp on this island!

haha! I wasn't around in the '70s, but I suppose that campaign worked (and continues to work) because Chattanooga keeps getting cleaner and cleaner!

The reverse is actually on the gear shift. That lever you’re talking about is the manual starter.
You guys!!! Now we HAVE to come visit.... I want to camp on the cute island!! My dream has always been to own a private island, this may be as close as I'll get. :) Excited to see what your summer holds; ours is starting with a road trip next week.
PLEASE COME VISIT!!!! And where are you off to on your roadtrip?! Have so much fun, y'all! We miss you guys and would love to see you soon!
Put that bike packing tent to good use! Join us in South Dakota in 2 weeks and you could bike pack the Centennial Trail!
DON'T TEMPT US!!!
Sara’s face is really selling that sub 😂
😅 Sorry, Publix.... lol
Did the city evict the homeless tribe that took up residence there this Spring?? Did y'all see anyone else on the island that looked questionable?
No
