A drink would need to be spilled directly on the socket or very close to it. As the socket is sealed unit and and glued into place using silicone. Plus there is an off/on switch for when it is not in use. And I'm right handed so never set my drinks on that side. Probability of an incident is small for me.

He skipped the part where he pre-drilled the screw holes even though he DID explain how to mark for depth on the bit and use the awl to set the point......

Thin cardboard. Not the corrugated type.
