Northwest College Student Center 2023

In early May, Northwest College broke ground on their new Student Center. Being built in place of the 80-year-old DeWitt Student Center, which required some abatement of hazardous materials, the new facility will offer much more for NWC students. In addition to more comfortable seating areas and better dining options, the new Student Center will also house the NWC’s nationally competing Trapper E-Sports Team, a Rec Co-op area with a two story climbing wall, Student Activities and Information Desk, hi-tech break-out study areas, and administration offices. Construction is being managed by Groathouse Construction of Cody, WY and over 83% of the work is being done by Wyoming Contractors with 70% being from the local Big Horn Basin Contractors helping Wyoming money to stay in Wyoming. The project is well on its way to stay under budget and on-time because of an amazing level of collaboration between NWC, SCD, Groathouse, and the architect HCM during one of the most unpredictable market fluctuations in modern history. Scheduled to open early Fall, 2024, the Student Center is sure to be the center of campus life.
