This video was so helpful! I found your channel a few days ago and I’ve been binging all your videos. I’m due with a baby boy in March and watching your pregnancy videos has made me feel like I have a friend with me. God’s love shines so obviously through you. 💛
Seriously love your channel you are gorgeous and your babe is so sweet! What an angel baby! We took our 14 month old on a plane and she did so well! We took tons of snacks and toys she wouldn't nap but wasn't cranky. We recently when on a plane and she is 18 months old.... it was a crap shoot she screamed for 30 minutes and I'm pregnant and I was almost in tears.(thank you hormones.) She fell asleep as we were landing! She was so overtired from our trip so that was definitely why she was so crabby. But it was rough! Haha
Travelled with baby girl at 9 months -- definitely bring lots of snacks and quiet toys that aren't distracting to others like books or stuffed animals! Also always bring more diapers and wipes than you normally use in a day - just in case! Also as a flight attendant AND a mom, I say do what you need to haha, totally get it! At the end of the day its at your own risk but also for your sanity lol
This was so helpful! We are going on our first flight in a few weeks with our 5 month old and it'll be an 8hr overseas flight so I am quite nervous. Thank you for this!
Do you have any extra tips after this experience of flying with a 5 month old? I’m going on a LONG flight with my baby when he’s 5 months old in October 😬 Cape Town, South Africa to Florida, USA.
Been loving the past couple videos, especially the Montreal one- always been on my list to visit one day! Keep up the great videos Beth :) excited to see this community grow!
So, the bottle with breast milk that you took along just in case... how did you keep the milk cold and then how did you warm it up when it was time to feed her?
I kept the bottle refrigerated right until we left for the airport both times - so it was only at room temp for about 2 hours total! I believe it can stay at room temp for 4 hours :) Viv isn’t particular with temp so I didn’t warn it up!
Yes we were but not all airlines will do this for you (we just travelled internationally and had to check it as special baggage before take off). I would check with your airline first!
Once it is safer to travel internationally we will be taking a 12 hour plane to the Philippines for our baby to meet her dads side of the family. I’m nervous already!
@@signedangeljanee8320 not sure if this is the case for all car seats but we have the uppababy Mesa and there’s a configuration to set it up using a seatbelt and no base!
I have that same carseat/stroller, and we are traveling next month with a 3 month old. Did you buy the travel safe bags for the stroller and carseat? Why or why not? That is the one thing I'm stressing about
No I didn’t! They weren’t rough with ours - it was in great shape when we got it all back. I feel like those protective bags are a little thin so I’m not sure how well they would protect it if it was to get really knocked around anyway.. just a risk you face when travelling with it in general. However ours were totally fine!
I’ve found that travelling with a baby is an absolute breeze compared to travelling with a toddler 😂 the level of complexity increases dramatically when they can walk and talk and express their dissatisfaction
Freshly expressed or pump milk can stay at room temp for up to 4 hours! We kept ours refrigerated right up until the last minute of heading to the airport and were always within the 4 hour window by the time we boarded and gave it to her during take off 🥰 i just put it in the cup holder of the diaper bag and it was totally fine through security!

what stroller are you using? looks perfect for travel!
This is the uppa baby vista! I will say it’s a bit heavier than others - their Cruz model might be even better :)
Were you able to check the stroller with the car seat attached at the boarding gate?
Yes we were but not all airlines will do this for you (we just travelled internationally and had to check it as special baggage before take off). I would check with your airline first!

That is so exciting!! She will be great - bring lots of books + small toys!
I know this is older, but what do you do for car seat base when flying and planning to rent a car?
@@signedangeljanee8320 not sure if this is the case for all car seats but we have the uppababy Mesa and there’s a configuration to set it up using a seatbelt and no base!
Hello, what seat sections did you sit in? Was it the Main cabin, preferred or standard seat?
These are just economy seats!
Would you fly right now considering the increase in omicron cases?

So glad I have time to mentally prepare for this stage 🤪
Can you please tell me how you packed your breastmilk for the plane? Like through TSA and what not. Did you take an ice pack or?

How did you get around at your destination without your car seat base?
You can install a car seat safely using the seat belt of most cars! We watched a tutorial video on how to do this with the uppababy Mesa :)
