I find it surprising that after looking up so many videos/articles about flying with a baby, NO ONE (that I saw) mentioned that the bassinet in economy is only attached after the plane gets to altitude and has to be removed when landing. Baby also can only use it for sleeping (not to sit in and play) and if there is any turbulence, you have to remove baby to sit in your lap with the infant seatbelt on. It made it so stressful for me on the flight to not have known these things beforehand.
I think it depends because I've seen babies playing in basinet during long flights and no one had problem with that. During turbulences there's a mesh in bassinet that you cover it with to make sure baby won't fall. Probably it's different in every airline
@@carisex6213 Yes, I do think it depends on the airline as well as the air stewards onboard at the time. The bassinet I had for my child did not have a mesh cover. However, not being able to use it during take off and landing is pretty standard across all airlines for safety reasons.
1st time mum here. Thank you for all the helpful tips. We are PCSing over 1000 miles away and flying with my 4month old seems to be the best option. Thanks for helping relieve some of my airport nerves.

This was very informative and encouraging, thank you! Requesting a part 2 to cover any other travel items to pack (vs rent) once you arrive! Bassinet, black out tent, items for feeding, ect 😊
Great questions. here's a short answer.. Bassinet or crib - we rent or ask the Airbnb host or hotel if they have one. Black out tent. we haven't used ours yet. We may in the future. Coco brings her Elvie pumps, 2 bottles, and a brush to clean everything. Carseat, we did not bring one to Europe, we rented one.
How do you rent a car seat in other countries like in Europe? Or sometimes do you use your nuna car seat? I have the same nuna car seat and the stroller nuna mix but I don’t want to travel with the nuna stroller because it’s too bulky. Do you use the nuna with adapter for the boogabo?

Provided you had one of those 3in1 strollers with the interchangeable car seat/ basinnet fittings and used the car seat attachment to the stroller base and wheels, would the car seat and folded stroller frame easily fit into the stroller travel bag? Or would you need to buy both the stroller bag and the car seat bag seperate?

You are amazing. Thank you also for showing us not so happy times. We will have our first flight , 2 hrs and then 11 hrs and I am extremely terrified. My 1 yr old is super active and high maintanance.
What would you recommend when baby is younger than 6 months and can’t use the Butterfly yet? We have a bugaboo fox 5 with a bassinet and it’s huge when folded.
My stroller is nuna babybee. I don’t think it will fit in the overhead. Or if it fits too will take two spots. I have not seen people taking stroller in the plane.
You both looking beautiful couple. I wish you both have a bright future and the baby. Myself become a father of 11 months old son and here 4 research how to travel with baby.
There were 2 of us on the flight so we shared duties. For solo, wearing your baby can help a lot. It will be tricky navigating everything, but it can be done.
We took the 6am flight, for the baby it was super smooth he just slept all the time from his bed to the destination bed, however we slept almost not at all, since he's still very little and goes to sleep around 2, and with all the extra luggage and logistics we needed to leave earlier than usual, that's something i didn't think about 😅
Great question.. Here's the link for them. amzn.to/4c7xlC7. We used them occasionally. Our daughter would sometimes wear them. In the thumbnail, it was nice to have them because we were boarding outside and the jet engine was very loud. Aso for wearing them on a plane, I don't think it's really necessary.
We will be flying with our baby girl in a few months - it seems like every time I've flown in the past, flights are FULL. I am hesitant to book the aisle and window, potentially leaving the middle to a stranger, separating my husband and I. But I can also see having an extra seat just for extra room and also to allow for easy bathroom access, but purchasing the seat would cost a lot extra. Any extra tips on this process? TIA!
Apparently if someone sits in the middle seat you will kindly ask them to move to either the window or the aisle seat. No one is going to say no to this, it's a win-win. Unless of course you want to buy the third seat to be certain. Which can be a very expensive option!
