    Just made this. This cocktail is AWESOME. I finally caved in today and bought Smith & Cross, having this cocktail in mind, and it did not disappoint. A keeper!

    Today I learned Creme de Banana is a thing. This drink sounds REALLY good. Nice presentation as always!

    I just made this and it's absolutely delicious. Thanks for the recipe, Chase and for the demo, Leandro! I'm posting this comment after one sip because I can tell that by the end of the cocktail I will not be able to see straight.

    I have to try that recipe. Looks good.
    Just by chance I made something a bit like this the other day (July 2024). I used
    tequila instead of rum. I was shocked at how harmoniously the tequila and banana blended.
    I added a few drops of St Elizabeth Allspice dram instead of Falernum. This touch of Allspice and cinnamon is a perfect compliment to the banana. Just a touch of lime or it gets too sharp and overwhelms the banana.
    2 Tres Agaves or Arette tequila
    1 Giffard banana
    1/4 Lime Juice
    6 drops St Elizabeth Allspice Dram

    I had two last night. Though I had to substitute Smith and Cross with Pusser's Gunpowder proof. Delicious.

    Oh, didn't realize this was such an old video. Just saw it a couple days ago and today I made the drink. Excellent!

    Nice work on this one, and great cocktail Chase. I appreciate the rants and history behind the drinks, they make me feel like I can expand my bar and know why I'm doing it. Cheers

    Oh cool. It's awesome that you give fan's a opportunity to show their work and you presented so we'll. I am not a banana fan, yet this sounds nice, i may reduce the alcohol content and try it.

      You could cut the recipe overall by 25% or use a bit less S&C.

    I love Smith across, however I just got my hands on my first bottle of Dr. Bird. Since I’m out of Smith and Cross, I will sub that and oh my God that did not disappoint

    Wow, that’s a mighty stout cocktail. The last step in the instructions should be to confiscate your guest’s car keys and call Uber.

    Add me to the S&C fan club. I can't believe how good it is. I'm happy to use it on its own in almost any tiki lol. This one looks good, look forward to checking it out if I come across some banana liqueur

    Hey Leandro, I've got a newbie question- can I, and if so in what proportions, switch a hard to get juice like passion fruit for a passion fruit mixer, like the ones made by Monin?

  • @antcrmbnich0b1

    If we don’t have Smith and Cross, would you suggest subbing out another overproof rum like Wray &Nephew? Or just a regular proof Jamaican rum?

    Can you substitute velvet falernum for falernum syrup? I currently have a bottle of BG Reynolds on hand.

    How long are the sippy cylinders? Looking at buying some from surfside sips. Going for 6" for rock glass but I'm a bit unsure if they are sufficient for high ball like the one used in this video

    Maybe this is a stupid question, but can I use pisang ambon instead of the banana liqueur?
    12 mile limit was delicious, btw! What do you think about replacing grenadine with luxardo cherry syrup?

    • @hitaschi009
      @hitaschi009 4 года назад

      Also thinking about doing that since I don't really know what to do with the Pisang. Have you tried it?

      I found both the Tempus Fugit and Giffard actually and picked up the Giffard, It was delicious. I did add a bar spoon of cinnamon syrup though, it just sounded good. Thanks for the great content.

      I don't get the relevance. Imbibing spirits will get you drunk. The Zombie has lots of spirit. People may be low tolerance. It's easy to get drunk on 2 drinks.

    • @HaHaTronic
      @HaHaTronic 5 лет назад

      Spirits of diff % makes drinks lower % - chemistry. Of i make a drink i use 70% vodka + some juice or coke and its still high %. That can make you drunk after 3/4 drinks
